Your biggest issue will be insufficient clamping strength from the stem on the steerer – depending on how the strong it all looks and the type of riding you’ll be doing it might be ok.

the other issue is how far down the steerer tube the SFN is, if its too far the bolt from your stem cap may not reach.

Is there anyone who makes a disc mount that will screw on to the fixed/free hubs?

Having tried fixed and not got on with it I fancy turning it into a nice strong SS wheel, but need to find a adaptor to let me fit a disc to it.

I’ve got a cannondale Prophet frame (m) for sale.

    http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/fs-cannondale-prophet-medium-1

Probably going to drop the price as I’ve not had any interest at that price so make me offer if you’re interested.

    Hi Frank

    As others have offered above

My cousin is a Glasgow based IFA and should be able to help you. drop me an email (in profile) and I’ll pass on his contact details. He sorted us out with a mortgage about this time last year in fairly difficult circumstances as my wife was not working and I was 1 month into a new job.

Cannondale Prophet, no longer made but fit your requirement perfectly.

I’m selling my old one (frame) if you fancy a cheaper introduction to fe than buying new.

I'm growing a new mountainbiker, he's only small at the moment but very enthusiastic. When he's fully grown he'll start purchasing mtb stuff and funding the industry like I do. At the moment I'm subsidisinh his growth so that part of the funding is being undertaken by me.

I was a bit disappointed by that feature as none of the people came up with anything acheivable or realistic. it was all fantasy stuff, none of which was really insightful or particularly interesting

The Pikes seem a pefect fit for the MG, best forks I've had on it. (Previously Marz AMSLs and Pace RC40 Fighters)

The 20mm axle provides a lot more confidence than a QR and the maxle system is very straight forward.

I'm sure the TG crew are happy to stir the pot on this one, more mis-information about the Stig will always be good. Its more promotion for Top Gear – more people will watch next series to find out what happens etc.

A Schwinn woodlands (lived in the US at the time) bit of a gate of a thing but it did have massive risers on it and was great for blatting about in the woods. I was 11 I think.

    nothing wrong with speccy bighits

I don't think it was the bike, more the (lack of) maintenance that it had received

It was quite slippery on the Saturday – I was struggling to trust it at all as I minced down it.

I saw one guy fall off if on one of the first stretches, but that was due to not paying attention rather than slipping off it.

I did it on a 140mm front 100mm rear full sus and thought that that was about right for me – I am now wondering about doing it on my HT although thats got 140mm travel. On one of my runs I was passed by a kid on an Orange Crush.

If you hire a big bike you'll have the option of taking it down the WC course as well if you fancy. I think I'd rather be overbiked doing it for the first time, once you know the route you can decide whether you'll be able to do it on your HT.

Did it for the first time at the weekend. It would be possible to do it on a 100mm hardtail, as with many things it depends how good you are on a bike, and what bike it is, a 456 Summer Season would be better off than a racy hardtail.

There are some fairly challenging bits – similar in technicalness to the Laggan Black run IMO, but in much longer sections than at Laggan. The first third and last third would be fine on a HT, the middle bit might be a bit more challenging,

depends on where you live and who is local to you. There are lots of good ones out there – I'd recommend Emma and tracey at the Hub in Glentress if you're near there.

The Prophet has a fairly low BB when the shock is set to its slacker setting. Its certainly the bike I've had the most pedal strikes with when riding.
