stick with what you got mate you will be fine , i went les gets/morzine last year and took my 100mm Cube HT with St high rollers Front and back with me and had a blast .. if anything there was more grins as it was on the edge had a swap with one of the challet guys for his FS and even he admited he enjoyed it ..

even The DH trails are pretty smooth and at that time of year they wont be minced by wannabe robo cops braking bumps .. Run what you have and you will have a great time , that said buy a new bike and you will also have a great time !

There are good and bad out there same as anything else ..

I would love to do more on my bike but live in a 3rd floor flat so very difficult to do much as i have zero storage space for a stand and tools.. This will change when i get my lock up eventualy come through but till then i have had a great experiance with my LBS .. they did a frame swap for me for next to nothing and allways give me a 20% discount on list (Before i haggle) .. they have been happy to offer advice and assistance when needed throughout me getting into biking properly .. and as such i have spent a fortune there.

They will price match if they can online .. if not will tell me to buy it and they are happy to fit ..

I guess you have to be lucky to find the right one .. i know all the shop staff by name and allways recomend them to friends

ha i was slightly tipsy when writing this and now very hungover after a night out for a mates birthday and did not expect such a response.
I echo some of the sentiments written on here i think part of it is i learned to ride (propperly) on it and learned to feltle with it as well. (The only thing that remains from stock the same is frame and seat)and yes i am in the camp of talking too and patting my saddle after a good ride !!

my firt “propper bike” was/is a a cube – nothing bad to day about them highly recomended even at the lower end of the range.

So much so i only Considered Turner and Yeti as an alternative for my next bike .

I now own a 5 Spot and my cube HT still gong strong for winter

the refreshment rooms (Right in the middle of Cymmer) does palitable grub the Afan steak and T bone i had in there were nice but it is pub grub .. Landlord manager and locals are a good bunch too .. one has great magic tricks been bladdered with them and regreted it on the whytes climb too many times now !

dont fall for it there are some dark places in those woods and im now mentaly scarred

Bloody right ! been after one since i missed out on the 09 frames on CRC .. Had trouble justifying the 2 k then .. this has likly tipped me over the edge ..looking more and more likely that i will be playing on an asr 5 for a while ..

this is my next choice after i finaly decide on my frame .. But i think i am settled on Revs .. nowt but good things to say about Rock Shox kit i have had and Fisher service if i have had an issue and they have all been minor

Another plus for the turner would be the bushings and ease of maintaining them- running as well after 3 years as when new.

Its a huge selling point for me that! and the wrench at the LBS’s Choice out of the two ! Even though in his words he would see me less !

Personly i think the turner performed slightly better but im just not in love with being on it the way i was with the yeti ..

Head is currenly saying turner but the repressed 20 something that is still in me in my 30s is saying YETI!

Couldnt get a ride on one as a demo and knew no-one that had .. but it was on the list .. shame .. but .. dont make me start looking again .. my money is going on one of these two !! but which !

Im afraid the big twos bikes just dont get me wet ! Really is out of these two im looking for owner experiance of warrenty etc .. im sold on one of these two after trialing most makes so interested in hearing of warrenty issues on the above really !

had a great day out local 25 mile loop .. lovely weather ,, i quite enjoy the crisp winter month .. spoiled a bit but finding out a few of the sneaky trails i frequent are currently unusable due to some rather major branch trimming all over them .. Bikes in a stand next week so will spend a few hours clearing branches weather permitting

as a herts lad i made my first trip up there over crimbo and had a right laugh , good little compact setup they have there and an all year surface .. certanly a fun few hours !

Hell thats a sexy piece of kit .. if its not ruined by all these beforehand and it has some free time i would be happy to take it to Les Gets/Morzine Chatel for a week in july full alpine write up and im sure it would turn a few heads out there and create a bit of interest !!!!

I took a 120 m HT to Les Gets/Morzine last june and loved it .. black was about the only thing off limits really .. well they were after nearly killing myself on the Mont Cherry one …everything else was doable and ultra fun – but tiring in a flop in the chair at end of the day and eat cake way as on the runs the adrenaline gets you through .. swapped with a guy i met out there for a few runs on his FS and he even said it was more fun! .. im actualy thinking of buying a Bfe at the moment and a set of revs to take back this year !

I now want a BFe frame at 300 Quid !

what he said – first week of opening i guess you are getting a deal with A E or something and its just the local lifts , TBH how many trails do you want to ride ?? , There are plenty of cheeky trails as well as the signposted ones on les gets side that are entertaining as well !

I went last year for first time in the same week and there was plenty enough for me .. but have booked for july this year as want a wider variety and want to do the ppds course – well try !

That said you can guess by the above im not a full on DH guy
