I get out there on Sunday and me and three others are doing a days guided riding on Monday , if you are still around then you could join in ( Allthough we are starting off in Les Gets at 9-30 so you would have to catch an early lift up) We are going to be doing all mountain and less used singletrack decent though , if you are looking for an XC day out , might not be to your tastes .. but then again i have never had a guided ride around there so may be talking out of my arse !

onzadog – so true , tony sorry wont get down to herts before alps but will be in touch after, monstering swinley yesterday and my improvements are down to my sesion at herts with tony … best bit is its all become natural now .. you would be high fiving if you saw how low them bars got pushed yesterday even in the slop !

swinley – 3 hours muddy , boggy and sandy singletrack , But Big smile been there so many times now but still found stuff i had never did including this insane jump on a slim ribbon of singletrack , whoever does that bonkers … love swinley and strayed away from most of what id usualy do Jump gully lab etc .. as im a pussy and did not want to faceplant and hurt myself before the alps next week .. cream crackered after all that gloop though !

cool thanks Clubby – there is a three day straight break in the schedule and im thinking of hiring a car driving to victoria and going whale watching and then having a night in Vancover – so we get a break from the saddle ! there is no way my body could ride all 14 days !

Oh and flights – CA or virgin i guess – Will take my bike it would never forgive me if i left it home & if it breaks out there its doing something it loves eh .. actualy i have a 5 spot at 140mm – never felt out of place over here or alpine but is it bike enough for canada ??

The Christiana is a brilliant spot and gets very positive reviews generaly – and as i said could not fault the staff or the food last year. one even went as far as to let me bankt ransfer some cash into his account and give me cash when i lost my card.- 488 quid + bike carrage – what better way to spend those discovered funds !

This is just the thing my first time was last year and i stuck to les gets & morzine – 1 because that was enough and 2 because it was early season and the other lifts were not open.

Was just going to do the PDS route on the monday and follow my nose but think i may get more value from a guide – allthough unless there are a few of us it could prove an expensive decision.

Any recomendations other than getting over to Chatel ??

Hi chaps – bellow is response – if we can get 5 of us its just 44 euro each – I may perhaps be able to pick up a few extra at the hotel i am staying at to bring cost down further. 16th works for me to get a nice epic day in.

We do have a guide available on the 16th/17th and we would be really pleased to show you “the good stuff”!
Keep in mind though that what is less known/ridden involve a little bit of pedalling… nothing too bad though and it worth it!

Day for a private guide is 220€ for the day, price to be divided by the number of riders (8 max). It would be just you and your friends, we don’t mix groups.

Alpine Elements – Hotel Christiana – overlooking Chevannes Lift. Had a great time there last year Food excelent and more importantly very central to riding. Price includes Breakfast & dinner , Also white water rafting and free bike hire for 4 days but its only a HT.

Some people had bad experiances with them i had a great one so im going back.
