Its posturing – they want it and will profit from it – just dont like the slap they have been given round the face.

    Earned over 100k ?

If so self assement even though PAYE ?

Also Do not forget to claim for a higher rate of pension relief if 40% Rate or above as HMRC only apply 20% as standard

BUT you have to fill in a Self assessment

“take off and nuke the site from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.”

No one will take a bite out of a country with nukes,  that in my opinion is pure fantasy..

It’s the very real mechanism for their plausible use “defence of homeland”and yes I believe they would be used under those circumstances.

im suprised Rishi hasn’t sugested nuking the boats as we are apparently being invaded

Sad Day – RIP to My Favorite MC – My Cats even named after him – Well ahead of his time – Remember hearing him for the first time at A Dreamscape and being Blown Away was just levels ahead of everyone else

    https://on.soundcloud.com/JkBffkooSNZefDCk9 2019 with Makoto 19 years later

Both of these get heavy rotation on my play list but he was at his best in LP8

Look at a Cascade link/Preload if you have the pennies.

Makes mine so much stiffer rear end – and better design (Mine hasnt creaked since)

Granted spendy option wouldnt say it transformed the bike but deffo made it much better – and No Creaks

Ive been part of building a business for over 12 years – I started on 25k base as field sales and there’s a number in front of that now + Divs

I had an animal work-life balance 60+ hr weeks  (I went back to work the day after my only child was born). What a Pratt !

Work was definitely a contributory reason why my relationship broke down – but as a council estate kid with no GCSEs and some time spent at HMP before I was 18, I held on bloody tight to this and outworked everyone.

Im struggling a bit now to be fair, with health, stress and in general Work has become my life – My identity and Ive lost myself a bit – and im not sure i like it

Don’t get me wrong, I am a great dad and share custody of my boy and am there for everything he does – But I am often working around him .. and that’s not good – every holiday, I take calls, and my laptop comes with me – Its sort of like I can’t switch off now.

If I have free time I don’t really know what to do with it – don’t even ride that much anymore

Dont know where the ramble is going – but we have a likely 5-year timeline left by then I will be 50 and if I stick it out me the lad will be set up for life.

These last 5 years won’t be as fun as the climb

It has taken its toll, and I’m not sure if I’m controlling it or it’s me .

Im grateful for where i am and what i have but im not as happy as i should be

I was back there for the first time in 8 years – 3-10 August, but Staying In Les gets by the Chevannes – just me and my 9-year-old, so I went back to Alpine Elements in the hope that he could find some friends in the hotel and not have to put up with me all the time.

Think I rode with you Weeksy Morzine side and a few other forumites a few days including La Bourgeoise from les Gets (Great day out)

Ridden exclusively Finale other than covid years as prefer the trails/food/beach but be nice to get on a chairlift and not a landrover for a change & Morzine is my happy place .. Looking forward to introducing mini me

Someone give us a wave if your about

Add my 2 ps worth –

Now all or none of this may be related and at 45 I am square in snipers alley sights-  But since first covid early 2020– Ive had Covid toes (look it up) – Pins and needles and loss of sensation in fingers and wrist – Pluracy – Blue lighted with Atrial Fib and a Resting heart rate of 178 Bpm to Harefield heart hospital – Herpies Simplex keritits is both eyes (Cold sore in each eye) .. and major lack of resilience to common colds

Some of this may be work and stress related – but never been so unhealthy in such a short space of time.

I now have serious problems concentration and get WAY more fatigued and tired than i than I used to (Was nicknamed Zebadee as i couldnt sit still and thats all i want to do now) and have lost most of my drive to train (Used to gym or Run/Bike every day) From 6 hrs a night of sleep being normal and fine Im crashing in the afternoon.

Some of this is life and Lifestle as a single parent and business owner …. But By christ im certain whatever covid was had a role to play (To add my symptoms at the time were mild compared to to others – Mild fever and the rest for a few days.

    Anyway still soldering on

Interest you in a cheap ripmo AF frame in a large sir . Vgc as new front triangle one week riding on it (replaced under warranty for paint defects). I’m about to strip it as just using the eeb these days

I really really liked the bike but seduced by decreasing time to ride and less fitness

Welcome to the club – love my M20 – very capable bike

I shoved my Dvo Jade x and Smashpoted Onyx on it and its brilliant

The only issue is the creakyness, but I have a Cascade link coming with a better preload kit to sort that.

Will then swap all the other kit from my Ibis that been sat forlornly on the wall for a year

Riden stock other than suspension and have been pleasantly surprised at the single pot deores it came with – Im 90KG +

Sure its a little small and Geo bit old but its very stable , nimble and jumps pretty well.

And ultimately it gets be out more because of the Motor – Enjoy

Will see me right for a few years

Had my Team m20 a year now – .. and i have ridden my analog bike just once since .

I wanted something that still felt like a normal bike and made me put some effort into it but helped if needed and well this was kinda it.

I swapped out the Fox factory Kit for my Smashpot DVO Onyx and Jade X – Front Assagi/ Rear DHR and it’s bloody rapid and as capable down as my Ripmo – maybe even more planted due to motor weight.

Its not quite as agile but close enough.

Swapped to larger Rotors and the 2 Pot deores it came with are fine (Have Code RSCs on other bike)

Also have a Creaky linkage that i need to sort and now experiencing the Power issues noted above whhich are definitely cable related.

Its a Bit Flexy at the rear but you learn to live with it and i am 90+KG

In all very happy and good value for money (I got mine on a close-out deal as well from my LBS )

    Go For it

Plan to Spring for a few days guided riding at least to make the most out of it … soooo many trails soooo many options .  50/80 a day but if two of you will only be a mixed group which can go both ways

been for last 6 riding years and still go back and ride new bits

we use a massive but well priced air b&b on the beach and 200/300 from train station with storage and parking which maybe good for mrs b happy to share

Dh is overkill – I found my ripmo perfect .

happy to point you towards a great guide or 2 . We usualy ride with Louise Paulin (vets ews champ few years ago)  who is brilliant and possibly more attentive than some of the Italian guides .. but also ride with her exs allisandro firm who are great in a very different way

happy to help in any way including restaurants etc

The biking is great but the food can also be out of this world if you know where to go

There was a us / China meet last week I think . I would guess that this course of action was at least discussed before they went public.

Maybe we won’t – Zippy – but what’s the alternative – let some nutter let off nukes and or destroy nuclear facilities without reciprocation?

It’s a pretty fair hill to die on in my opinion as well we’d be on a course for destruction anyway.

Id suspect that the US/Nato has a few capabilities we/Ruzzia  know about – One thing that is abundantly clear is that the Russian milatary/tech is very outdated unreliable and exaggerated in capabilities.

its Bark does seem worse than its bite – Granted its ICBMs and Sub based missies don’t have as far to go – but i wonder how well maintained it is and how old it is id suggest most of the infrastructure and material is Soviet in origin and there must be some kind of countermeasure developed for what does get off the deck !

I know it only takes one or two of course – but im not sure it comes to that – It’s time his bluff was called.

IF Nato were to strike – im not sure it would be nuclear – more precision-based munitions to decapitate C&C networks would give food for thought and – if you take the head – im not sure there are others that would be willing to press a button for MAD

Just my ramblings anyway — Off to stack up on tinned goods

True enough – but Ruzzia is the little boy who cried wolf – we know its all badly staged bull*hit and posturing.

2029 May be a bit far off given the rate of AI And possible escalation – I will start prepping the basement now

Honey is the only food that doesn’t go off right – How long can you live off honey ?

Agreed Good – needs to be clearly and definitively said -Mess around with Nukes get article 5 – Appesment here will just lead to further destruction.

Here is the line Cross it and suffer the full weight of arms –

No one wants Armageddon least of all me, but you cannot have a madman willing to do this without recourse

Reading with interest and horror at the same time.

My 5-year fix comes to an end in December so I am looking at a hike of around 4-4.5% if I fix for another 2 years. (about 250Pcm)

I started again at 37 after a clean break up and brought a standard 3-bed terraced that’s big enough for me and my son nothing fancy usual run-of-the-mill family home.

I have been fortunate enough with work to have been overpaying the Morgage by 100% for the last 2 years and standard repayments would be circa 20% of my take home and have a chunk put away for a rainy day.

I was hoping to move up and had a MIP in place but was gazumped on an offer in Jan this year.

I think now I will be riding it out continuing to overpay as much as I can and banking cash.

I am very fortunate with my income I know, its not a humble brag – what with energy and food pricing my monthly costs will go up by around 500 pcm — Thats madness

Excellent observation, by all accounts in the south the ability to field more stand off  air power is affecting the advance as you would expect.

the ka-52 fob is out of all current ukr weapons range (except storm shadow but doesn’t have cluster warhead) for now but there is talk of longer range mlrs being in theatre shortly.

there are a limited number of these attack helicopters and you’d think they are high on the target list . Unconfirmed reports say 3 downed in last 2 days ..

one thing Ukr are proving to be Is fast to adapt the f16s are some way off yet so air superiority is a no,  best they can hope for is parity.
