I can’t see that if it does boost healing how it can’t therefore be used to improve performance? Surely in any given training schedule there are rest days where you let your body recover which must be a form of healing? If you can reduce/improve these rest periods surely you can improve performance quicker?

Would love to see Ray Lewis get a superbowl ring, Go ravens! (although I don’t know anything about the history with Browns mentioned above)

I used a “soft” Evoc bike bag with Easyjet and it was fine, I used my knee and skin pads to protect any unprotected bits. My bag, bike (A robustly specced Orange alpine 160) helmets, pads, shoes and a couple of tools came to exactly 32kg which is easyjet’s limit.

I did the same this morning, thought it had warmed up enough to take the back streets to work again, was peddling full tilt when I hit black ice and was instantly sliding along the tarmac, luckily just a skinned knee and bruised arse. Glad there wasn’t any cars about.

Flange in particular is a much maligned and misunderstood word. Much like cock, thrust, ring and plunger.

I just just giggled like a naughty school boy at my desk when reading that and all my colleagues are looking at me….

I don’t know of one with Strava, but there is a “Find iphone” app where you can track your iphone from another apple device. I’m sure there’s something similar for android too.

But she would be able to track you all the time not just on rides!

Watched The Sweeney the other day, thought Ben “Plan B” Drew was pretty bad, but he was next to Ray Winston and Damion Lewis who are both great.

Why is there a lollipop man if there is already a pedestrian crossing with lights? Surely you only need a lollipop man if there isn’t a crossing?

You haven’t mentioned what you used to wash it? I assume it needs a special detergent for the waterproofing? I found with some of my Jackets if I use the Nikwak liquid that everybody recommends they still came out a bit smelly, but the Granger’s technical wash is a lot better.

Only 9 miles each way but I do it everyday rain or shine. Can be boosted up to 20 or 30 miles if I take the scenic route which I’m planning to do at least once a week in 2013.

I had the same problem, I also happen to have a really large head ended up buying 3 different ones from CRC and sending them back again until I got one that fitted (XL Giro Remedy if anyone else with a >63cm head is reading this).

Eye gouging is out of order. We only had 4 rules

    No Eye gouging
No hair pulling (That’s for girls)
    No biting
No direct kicks/punches/knees to the balls (although indirect hits to the knackers via use of projectiles was actively encouraged)

We also had to introduce a fifth rule of no licking because one kid was a bit weird. The kind of Kid where I wouldn’t be surprised if I opened to local rag one day to find out he’d gone a bit Jimmy Saville in his later years.

Took this on the commute to work this morning, I’ve cycled pass this river almost everyday for the last 3 years -this is the first time it’s made me stop and take a photo, just gutted i only had my phone and not my DSLR.

I have a similar problem, 34s fit around the waist but too-tight around the thigh, 36s fit the thigh but are far too loose around waist.

Two brands I’ve found that fit are Gap (boot cut or low rise) and Fat Face. Tried literally every cut of Levi’s in the store (apart from the stupid skinny ones), even the ones that cost £££, with no luck.

I did my old rocklobster frame the other day – took about 30mins with some nitromors.

You most have access to the old style Nitromors the new EU regulated stuff is rubbish, tried doing a frame with it but gave up after a days work because progress was so slow.

Goldeneye for me. 4 player split screen offered the first decent social gaming experience with your mates at the time. We wasted hours laying proximity mines and shooting each other through walls. As great as internet gaming is I still think is was brilliant to be able to get 4 people in the same room playing off of one console and TV.

I actually still do meet up with mates for gaming sessions, but now it’s much more of a hassle and expense as you have to organise 4 TVs and 4 copies of whatever game you want to play(unless you play a sports game like FIFA)

Lost about 7lbs in the last 3 weeks after needing to wear a suit for the first time in ages and finding none of mine fitted. A step on the scales confirmed my suits hadn’t magically shrunk and the alarm bells started ringing. Set myself a goal on Strava to do 500miles in December and that seems to be working.

People who talk with their mouths full

This, and people who clink their spoon/fork on their teeth when they put it in their mouth.

I’m generally not a language snob but people who use the word “aint” when they should use “isn’t” or “haven’t” instantly annoy me. Particularly when unintentionally used as a double negative with the word no e.g. “I aint go no fags” when they mean “I haven’t got any cigarettes”.

Currently got a problem with a phantom sh**er. Only 5 of us in the office and someone keeps leaving nuggets in the toilet and not flushing. It’s really grim, especially for me as I’m first in the office and use the toilet to change out of my cycling cloths, only to find a little present that’s been left to brew overnight!

What makes it worse is I’m 95% sure I’ve narrowed it down to a girl.

Being in the creative industry I have this problem, I’ve always looked at this like this and worn a suit:

    Two possible outcomes..
    1. You wear a suit and they don’t, you laugh it off perhaps remove your Jacket & tie.
    2. You don’t wear a suit but they do, you look and feel like a tit.

I Knew someone that had one of these fitted for better insurance premiums. Just by my house there’s a narrow country lane with 30 limit running along side an A road. She got a very angry letter from the insurance saying she’d been driving at 55 in a 30 because the GPS picked up the wrong the road.

Another vote for 250GB – especially with some games now needing to be installed before you can play (like the new Halo 4 multiplayer)

One of those moments when you realise just how small we really are. I really think as a human race we should make space exploration much more of a priority, imagine what other cool stuff we’d have found if we spent half the money that’s been spent on wars in the last 70 years on space exploration. I know this makes me sound like a stupid idealist but its one thing that really bugs me.

Another vote for a cross bike, I recently brought one of these 2012 Kona Jakes that have been reduced at Evans to £750, excellent value. http://www.evanscycles.com/product_image/image/650/a12/039/69618/large/kona-jake-2012-cyclocross-bike.jpg%5B/url%5D

Went with my girlfriend’s father to test a Bose soundbar – sounded really good in the perfectly square Bose test room with smooth walls, sounded rubbish in a 300 old house with wonky walls and all the other clutter people normally have in a lounge!

Currently on the fence about whether to give it up. Have had a few evenings where it has genuinely made it more fun. I’m quite introverted and couple of beers gives me a bit more confidence to have a bit of laugh and I wouldn’t have met my other half 11 years ago without a bit of liquid courage.

But then there have been quite a few times where I’ve become a bit of a dick and woken up thinking “I’ve just spent £70 on a splitting headache and a horrible feeling of anxiety”. However the biggest problem, and the reason I’m considering quitting, is I’m starting to be quite susceptible memory loss – I’ll be out with my mates all drinking the same but in the morning they’ll remember everything I and I won’t remember leaving the pub. The feeling of having a complete blank in my life (even after being shown photos!) I find really scarey.

I knew a guy at uni who claimed he made the equivalent of about 18K a year playing online poker for a bit. He had no social life as the best time to play was Friday and Saturday nights when other players would come home from the pub drunk and play badly.

Unlikley I know, but does anyone know of a bookie that takes bets for the DH world cup? its the only sport I follow avidly enough to make informed bets!

I brought one pair of prescription Oakley glasses (not sunglasses) online for about £180 then my current pair from a local recommended optician for nearer £300. I have to say the difference in lens quality is massive. I have a prescription which means I have to go “double thin”, in the cheaper ones the lenses stick out very slightly from the frame, and you can see they haven’t be seated with as much care, the new ones are much more neatly seated in the frame and are thinner (even though they were sold as the same type). Also the scratch resistant coating is actually scratch resistant on the new ones and if I do manage to scratch them they’ll replace them for free.

I guess its just a case of how anal you are about attention to detail, the cheaper pair were a perfectly functional pair of glasses, but the more expensive ones are just that bit nicer.

Those forks look like a surgical support. Yuk.

Have to agree, nice frame shame about the forks, would look nicer with some simple, thinner forks with circular cross section like project 2s IMO.

Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t X0 component more race orientated and therefore much lighter and less durable? XT would be more equivalent to SRAM X9 I think.

Fair comment, The XO was lighter (and had a pretty red spider-why I brought it), but I was still left feeling it should have a lasted a fair bit longer.

    makeitorange

The only long term experience I’ve had of XO was a cassette and it was made of cheese. XT ones are a lot harder wearing. However I have used the SRAM shifters on some demo bikes and I do like the feel of them, they have a more positive feel – I was even going to buy an XO rear mech when I went 1×10 but the price difference compared to XT was too big to justify.
