Really dislike the wiggly bits, surely a bike that only wiggins fanboys buy? Each to there own though.

Two things that have delayed builds in the past for me: correct brake mounting spacers to fit fork and disc. New gear cables outers to fit new frame.
Also heli tape or some other cable rub solution.

Assuming it’s the same as last year then it’s streamed live on Rebull.tv so you can watch it on a computer, there’s also an app for iPad which I ended up using a lot last year.

Looks very nice to me, £1099 seems OK if you compare it to a Kona Jake for example – a lot better value than most Orange bikes. I want one but on the website it looks like the smallest they are doing is 52cm which is probably a couple of cm to big for me.

Originally it meant a black car with black wheels, dark tinted windows and tinted light covers, basically making your car as black as possible. Bonus points if it’s a matte black finish.

Ben Cooper – Any reason for the twin discs or just a novelty?

I own an Alpine with a CCDB, I stripped the frame down for the first time last month, was amazed how much the shock weighs ( i knew it was heavy, but I was still surprised). If weight was my only goal then I’d start by switching that.

I probably shouldn’t mention this opinion on a cycling forum, but, as a cyclist who commutes through the centre of Brighton everyday, I’m suprised the number is that low. There are some right numpty cyclists doing stupid stuff around buses daily. Yes I’m sure there are also bad bus drivers, but there are a lot more bad cyclists (in Brighton at least)!

BR’s sounds like an AC tear and it comes in grades (1 to 4 in severity) I got a grade 2 one last year and was in a sling for 6 weeks followed by physio for a couple of weeks then back on the bike slowly with a shoulder support. However I have read of people recovering a lot quicker. I think mine was possibly more severe as I could certainly wouldn’t have been able to ride home on it! (I could feel stuff moving in my shoulder and it hurt like hell).

OP- as everyone has said get it x-rayed its the only way to know for sure!

Got an old Marin Wolfridge frame sitting the garage, would be great for what you want although is design for 140mm upfront:

My Name is Josh and sitting in the office with aching thighs as I battled to get to work on time along the Brighton coast (it’s not even been that strong today). I wouldn’t mind but mother nature often seems to change wind direction during the day and you don’t get the tailwind on the home, which just seems unfair!

I know American Football isn’t that popular in England, but for those who don’t know Maurice Jones Drew was considered too short to be a decent player(only 5’7″ -the same height as me!) . He is now one of the best running backs in the league – proving you don’t have to be big to have a shed load of power if you hit the gym enough:

Here’s a picture of him next to a more conventionally sized player:

Maxxis minion front and High roller rear all year round for me.
    swap them over.

Really? the Minion (2.35 DHF) definitely looks like the burlier, gripper tyre compared to the high roller (also 2.35). It’s how my old Marin Wolfridge came as standard and I’ve copied it on all my bikes since because I liked it so much.

Maxxis minion front and High roller rear all year round for me. In the rare event that it’s too muddy for them then its probably too muddy to be much fun anyway (south downs chalky mud)

    My old chemistry teacher used to always say;
“You pays your money and you takes your choice”
I can’t remember what he was referring to as I used to always to get sidetracked wondering why it was ‘pays’ and ‘takes’ not ‘pay’ and ‘take’.

“Another f***ing tour de tw**ter” I actually found quite amusing around the time of the wiggins victory cycling boom.

Some days it seems like it’s everywhere, My Grandma had 4 children, she’s has lost 3 or them, including my Dad, to cancer – it really isn’t right to outlive your kids like that. However on my mum’s side of the family has hardly been effected by it.

One theory I had was that people from the time before we knew how bad smoking was are just getting to their 40’s and 50’s and dieing from that.

Another theory is that cancer is actually a very broad range of diseases grouped under one name so it comes up a lot.

Thanks for the suggestions, regarding the use of friends – None of the people I ride with have the same interest in photography/cameras as me so doing serveral attempts with different angles and flash positions would get pretty boring for them.

Is there any proof that the photo’s are of Venables? Wouldn’t be the first time the wrong person got fingered…

Good point and I’m annoyed at myself for not questioning that when I first saw it. Imagine if you happen to look like the bloke in the photo, dread to think what could happen.

Full face, Googles (I wear contacts so googles are a must even in summer)
Summer gloves, knee pads and since I separated my shoulder a IXS Hammer Jacket (think short sleeved storm trooper outfit). If your local DH races are anything like mine you’ll see all sorts from plaid shirts and jeans to full complete matching bike/helmet and pajamas.

Massive bling whore here! If it’s not available in Orange it isn’t going on my Bike.

Although with all the bike thieving going on I think stealth may be wiser in the future!

Difficult to properly singlespeed an FS due to chain stretch issues, although I have seen spring loaded chain tensioners. It kind of takes away from the direct, simple feel that makes singlespeed appealing (to me at least).

Possibly a naive answer, but I always thought the main reason couples shared the same company was to fiddle the income tax thresholds.
For example say the Man would earn 40K and the woman only does part time and earns 15K, they’d pay less tax if they split it and “earned” 27.5K each.

More importantly, for a biking forum, how did May lose his mini race?!

And he wasn’t wearing a helmet, surely he now has to burn in hell?

Average for me. My Auntie died but it was the end of a long fight with cancer so expected and an end to the suffering. A silver lining was getting to see some family I don’t normally see, especially my brother who came over from Afghanistan. Work has been so-so, making lots of stupid mistakes that I shouldn’t be, but a trip to Vegas at the beginning of January was good. Riding has been crap in January as expected, but I seem to have found fresh motivation to hit the gym more so have lost a stone since end of November. Looks like I might be fit enough to race by March 🙂

I’ve always thrown my apple cores and banana skins into the bushes when out on the trail, genuinely didn’t think there was anything wrong with it or realise it offended people, will start taking home and putting in my composter. I’ve never just thrown them in the street though, that’s just grim.

A girl I know is getting married to chap who’s surname is Slaughter, he’s in the Army so is currently “Sergeant Slaughter” but could potentially become “Major Slaughter” or even “General Slaughter!”

I don’t know about Kodak, but we’ve tried several different brands in our Epsom at work and they’ve all been awful (to the point where we had to get the printer professional cleaned to unclog it). Now we only use Epsom genuine.

Just call them and explain. I got a scary bill and demand for almost £1000 pounds of unpaid NI, because on their system I was still self employed, one phone call to tell them I’d been employed PAYE for the past 5 years sorted it pretty quickly.

Lots of talk of racks, but I commute a similar distance and am amazed how much I can fit and carry comfortably in my humble vaude backpack- last week I managed a 15″laptop and all the leads, a change of cloths for work, my gym kit and towel, bike tools and spare tube and a can of soup for lunch.

AC DC – I jumped on the itunes release bandwagon last year! (To be fair most of their stuff was released before I was born so I have an excuse!)
