I get that sometimes, usually after a long ride, I think it’s because the tendon is inflamed due the hard use you put it through the day before, and now it doesn’t run as smoothly in the tendon sheath as it normally does, ibuprofen should help, other than that it should be better in a couple of days

Nice review thanks, must admit I struggle with navigating with my bolt, mostly due to the off route problems you mentioned and not being able to pan the map, really hope they sort that out, as it’s a massive issue. You can set ‘north up’ on the mapping by the way, I’ve definitely set mine up to do it, can’t remember where it’s set though, not sure if it’s in the app or on the settings on the device, haven’t got mine to hand to check.

I though the sizing was spot on, the the actual sizes are small, I always ride a small (48cm) road bike, their sizing calculator said I needed a 2xs, so I threw a hissy fit, took all the measurements off a couple of my road bikes and compared them to the canyon geometry charts, 2xs was closest, ordered a 2xs Aeroad and the size is perfect…

My Aeroad 8.0 was actually 7.2kg with pedals so sub 7.0kg without…. pretty good considering the deep sescion wheels and it’s an aero frame. oh and OnzaDog it was delivered in less than a week :)

Out of interest, how much harder is it fit a new front door than an interior one? done loads of interior ones and fitted locks a few times, but I’d be more worried about tackling the front door.

Second the Norco Threshold, 1200 quid for 105 groupset and hydro brakes, has fittings for full guards, though I haven’t worked out which screwed in ones will go on, on the front yet as the mount point are inside the fork and half way up, strap on ones will be fine anyway. Got mine last week and so far I think it’s ace :)

Tonights race was tough but fun as usual, 7 places better than last week, and really pleased with 16th especially as I missed a break and had to chase back for the last lap, did anyone else who uses a dumb trainer find there was a section where suddenly everyone disappeared into the distance? I was consistently in the bunch doing about 320w then at the same point every lap, everyone shoots off and I have to up it to 350w just to keep up. weird.

Wileyfox swift, had mine for a couple of months now, it’s really blown me away, actually faster than the S5 it replaces due to no bloatware, and only 130 quid, never buying another premium android phone again, it runs stock cyanogenmod android has built in truecaller which is ace, and it feels and looks like a much more expensive phone. I honestly can’t think of anything wrong with it.

I used to get this on my Cotic Soda, especially if it had sat in the garage for a few days in hot weather, invariably the copper slip on the BB threads had dried / washed out, lavishly reapplying fresh stuff always fixed it for me.

legend, mines (the 650b) a small and hers is a medium, so thats probably the reverse of what you meant :), so I would guess that making the frame longer for bigger wheels adds more length than going up a size, catvet it’s really 27.5 pounds? damn I’m going to have to work out where all the weight is on mine now, I hope it the 2.4″ Hans Dampf tyres cos thats cheap to fix :)

I’ve got a 650b one with pikes and my gf has a 26″ with x-fuxion slants on, the 650b feels more capable on the techy stuff and more stable on steep and rocky terrain, the downsides are that the wheelbase makes it slightly less chuckable, wheelies and manuals require a bit more effort, it’s also noticably heavier than the 26″ wheeled version, in theory the two bikes have fairly similar build kit but mine is a good couple of pounds heavier. Personally I love my five and I would say the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. but if you’ve got a load of fast mates you need to keep up with on long xc rides, you are going to have to be fitter than them to keep up :)

Yunki, feel for you there mate, me too, I wonder if it was due to eating at lunchtime for a change, hope you feel better soon…

My local road club introduced this rule after a mate slid off on a club ride banged his head on the road and died, he wasn’t wearing a helmet. Don’t know if it would have helped or not…… but I’m quite happy to go along with the rule, and I wish my mate was still coming along on the rides.

I’ve had UC for about 6 years now, reading about everyone on here makes me realise how lucky I am with mine, It’s pretty much under control with Azathioprine and asacol and barely affects me day to day, doesn’t make me tired, I can pretty much do what I like. I really feel for anyone who’s quality of life get affected by it, which is most sufferers it seems.

Woo I’m finally riding the same bike as mint, I always wanted to when I was a teenager but had to settle for my Raleigh Mustang STI. Makes me feel a little bit like I’ve finally made it :)

Might even buy a copy of MBUK at lunch time to check it out.

woah! The whole thing is written in flash and buried in two levels of iframe, I’d be surprised if google could find the content at all. If it’s important to you I’d rewrite the whole site in decent, standard and valid html and css. There’s nothing on that site I can see that couldn’t be done fairly easily with that and maybe a little bit of javascript for the image carousels. Google can read some flash content but possibly not any on your site, having a play with googles webmaster tools may let you see if it can find any. oh and what wwaswas said :)

Druidh, worldpay is the payment gateway, you’ll need to go to their support site to see how it’s done on their system, it’s illegal for a site to hold cc details unless they are PCI complaint, something which is quite hard to get and potentially means you could be liable for loads of cash if a card is used fraudulently,

    mahowlett

Druidh, they’re called deferred payments, and I think most of the major gateways support them now basically you send all the details to the gateway in the normal way and the transaction is authorised as usual but the gateway doesn’t actually put the payment until you send them notification that it should be paid. This has to be sent in a relatively short timescale though to stop you taking payments months after authorising them, I think the limit is in the order of a few weeks.

Druidh. Re: delayed payments, if you do these properly then you still don’ t need to hold the credit card details, world pay or whoever still handle it all, I’m building a site at the moment that does exactly this. Not saying that crc do, do this but they don’t have to.

I love my stabo one – http://www.stabo.co.uk looks better the more battered it gets

Yes, though mines geared, coming from a cotic soda I was a bit unsure at first as it's a little longer and heavier, but I'm increasingly loving it, just spent 2 weeks thrashing it round trail centres in Scotland and it was fantastic. Still not entirely sold on the sliding dropouts as they are more of a faff than you think they will be (there's a hidden grub screw on one side that is a pain to set up) but the bike does look really nice. :)

nope you can't, check – Pace 104 – ChainreactionThe 2 stays are joined together even with the slideout taken off

    mahowlett

errr it can be unbolted, but I've a feeling that the chain and seatstays are attached to one another, so no use for belt drive, I'd have to check to be sure…

AndyRT – The shame? It might be embarrassing, but I don't see she was doing anything to be ashamed about, it's not like she wasn't doing something that 90% (or more like 100% round here ;) ) of the population haven't done at some point or other. It's not the 1950's any more….

I'll agree that the photographs are beautiful but the website experience is truly horrible, loads of waiting for flash to load, the navigation between photos is horrible and I hate waiting for fancy effects to finish just so I can see the page content, Looks like an exercise in website design lookwhaticando wankery instead of focussing on what the user wants to see.

yup :), no idea what it weighs, more than my Soda did, less than my Merlin Malt, no pictures yet, but I got it pretty muddy at the Marin rough ride at the weekend. So far I'm happy with it, handles nicely, more stable than the Soda was, but a little slower to turn perhaps. Hope to try it on some tight and twisty local singletrack this weekend. oh yeah and it's real purdy……

I've been on it for months at a time in the past with very few side effects basically mood swings and a slight fattening of my face, shorter course caused no side effects at all mine was also for ulcerative colitis. They should kick in in the space of a couple of days.

Etsy is a great place to sell this kind of stuff, dead easy to set up your own shop and commission is fairly small – http://www.etsy.com/

I found some 30mm * 4mm steel strip that I hacksawed dropouts into and then fixed to the mdf upright for mine, works brilliantly, wasn't very difficult to do and didn't take too long to make either…

I work for a web development company, http://www.netxtra.net and it sounds like the sort of thing we could take on. I’m with mastiles_fanylion in that I’m pretty sure that 5k wouldn’t cover what it sounds like you want though…..
