ive got a caribou snr? scratched the fatbike itch with it, but not really used it since my daughter grew out of the tag-along…

wouldnt buy one for a wean tbh. once the novelty wears off it will just be slow and less versatile.

Never heard of that before? Unless if by ‘loan’ they’re concerned that your folks would have a claim to own that much of the house, which the mortgage co wouldn’t like. Whenever i’ve bought, they didn’t care if the deposit money was well-gotten or ill-gotten, just as long as it had been gotten.

same here, i think its another new one the establishment have enforced to stop people laundering cash… or helping out their children who cannot afford to get on the ladder!!

well perhaps, but selfishly it just feels like we work hard and save hard to provide a better future for our family, just to get a swift kick in the bollocks. that was to be the pension plan.

ah stamp duty. another f**kin racket! our stamp duty is gonna be about 2%. if that wasnt bad enough we did hope to hold onto our current house as we had just about enough put by to cover that and the deposit – but some filthy degenerate scumbags in the government decided that as of May this year if we wanted to buy a second home the stamp duty would be more like 5%!! which in monetary terms meant we were about £12K short!!!! absolute bastards.

another thing, our solicitors wanted assurances the money in the bank was generated by us saving, and not just deposited there (like a loan from mum & dad or something) WTF does that have to do with them??? how are people supposed to get on in life with all this red tape? doing my head in…

we viewed one house, decided it was the one, put an offer in then entered into a bidding war with another buyer, our final offer was 10k over full asking asking, it sold for 15k over… 2 months later, after viewing a handful of others the estate agent phoned us, sale had fallen through and house was back on the market (at 10K more than original) went to see it again, didnt like it any more!

why cant folk post their own ad’s on Rightmove!? its the estate agents that rile me. ours did nothing but bang the ad on rightmove. Then we had to reword the ad for them and re-take most of the pictures! we even told them the list price and we conducted all the viewings! they want 1% +VAT.

slipped up there. only read about Tepilo when it was too late…

36!?! blimey we viewed about 10 if that! over how big an area were you searching?

yeah we put an offer in on one and accepted one on ours mid septemeber. we have both just had surveys done this week! whole palaver drags on and on and is a complete racket for all the fee earners involved! my advice would be not to get your hopes up or over excited until you have signed contracts at least. my mrs was out buying candles & shit weeks ago and is getting quite stressed out by it all now.

its not our first time tho, but its 10yrs since we bought this one and i can remember how long it all took back then so not letting it get to me this time, although you wouldnt think so from this post! 🙂

irresponsible for me then. i quite often ride alone, in the dark, in less than familiar territory while im working away & nobody is waiting for me to return… it’d be 7am the next day before anyone noticed me missing, and probably the following day before they’d begin to worry. so i wouldn’t dream of venturing out without my phone. not to mention the amount of times i need to look at a map on it or shoot the odd instabanger!

not taking a phone is kindda irresponsible, esp if riding alone. i always just kept mine in the thigh pocket of my shorts, until i read this! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-36955531

Like Graham I also have most Fridays off, but Sunday nights are so sweet when you know your off the next day!! Friday is a great riding day tho, you can do the lakes or peaks safe in the knowledge there wont be too many foot-bandits knocking about! also love riding all day knowing I still have 2 more days off!!!

id get a nice package job, one where everything is included, lessons, passes, equipment, everything – otherwise the endless laying out of cash becomes disheartening! also, youre gonna be cold, tired and sore after a day on the slopes so you will really appreciate a nice chalet or hotel to retire to with good food laid on, open fire and a hot tub! Club Med are good!

were moving house soon, certainly wont be taking sky with us. they rang me up recently & tried to flog me some extra packages on an excellent deal due to my long and valued custom. told the lady i couldnt remember the last time we watched owt on sky that wasnt on either terrestrial or Netflix or available on Kodi! I asked her to cancel it all but it wasnt her department surprise surprise. she put me through but i gave up after 10 mins of holding…

we can see the Haven place from my inlaws front windows, when ever we go we always walk the dog on the beach immediately east of there, dont know the name, its big, and has great views over the mountains but the water is like a mill pond, probably ankle deep for the first 2 miles & covered in submerged rocks too! if we wanna spend time on a beach we go to Pwllheli, Llandbedrog or Abersoch. Pwllheli beach, esp up near the harbour is really nice, soft clean sand and quite sheltered, but again the marina takes the brunt of the waves so the beach is always calm.

In fact, I’m not sure there is any difference between the Saint and Zee calipers? They look and feel exactly the same! Still got my sexy saint levers so happy days….

Any crew length socks from sockguy. I love sockguy socks. I have some for riding in and some I keep just for knocking about in. They never slip, never too hot or too cold, don’t cost much and come in a kabillion designs.

Well went out today and the noise was absolute murder. Tried someone else’s wheel and it still happened.

Came home, swapped callipers with an old Zee i had , kept same levers, hoses, pads & rotor l, just straight swap out of callipers… went for a spin – SILENCE!

    Woohoo

actually… my hubs are 6 bolt, but one of the threads is spun so theres only five bolts securing the rotor – surely it cant be this? dont some weight saving savvy’s only run 3 bolts anyway?

I enjoyed my day there the other week. i was working near by , got finished early so stopped on my way home. It was good in this respect but id have been less impressed if id had to drive a long way specifically for it. if your more than a few hours away you would definitely choose BPW over FU417.

it was very quiet when i was there. didnt enjoy the blue run much apart from them doubles at the bottom, which i sessioned alot while waiting for the uplift (the van was there but the driver was waiting for some mincers to make it down rather than drive me up on my own which was a bit frustrating) the black i felt was too tame in the most part but then has a few features that were way beyond me, but the red, with the new tabletoppy section, is really great fun!! ended up just riding this one over and over but cutting onto the 4X or slalom at the bottom. they are great fun too btw.
