I’m told that the Oak Root levers will transform them but shouldn’t have to throw £140 extra at any brake

the MT7 levers are the best thing about them, for feels anyway – its a shame they are made out of cheese. mine have been held together with twigs and cable ties for 12 months. but they do feel great, and stopping power is great too. My main problem was the noise. no matter what i did, they were always noisy, not so much when braking, but when rolling normally like the calipers were misaligned. tried new rotors, tried various different pads, had the calipers stripped and rebuilt – they were always perfect in the stand, but 5 minutes riding down the road the squeal would creep back up!! i had to get rid in the end!

Good price. i paid full RRP for a pair from Ride Innerleithen a few weeks ago when up there during a particularly damp few days.

They were worth every penny just for that weekend, but ive ridden in them every weekend since too. comfortable, not too warm and definitely waterproof enough. nicely tapered at the ankle, and plenty of adjustment in the waste. i dont tend to wear knee pads under trousers so cant comment on that aspect.

im 6′ tall, and usually wear 34″/30″ jeans. i bought Medium and they fit like a dream. I have many Madison items most of them are size M.

i mean he’s likeable enough. i loved Phoenix Nights etc but his standup is meh… if he was on in my local, and tickets were free or included a pie supper, id probably pop along. but not if it was raining.

10 miles on average. Prefer to do laps close to home than stray too far. Nowt worse than realising you are miles from home when bonked!

got a lads weekend to Chamonix lads booked for Jan (doing Fri-Tues to avoid Sunday night in Geneva!) And then to La Plagne with all the family in March. managed to find a catered chalet in the end – 20 of us in it!! we have taken non skiers before who can cook but its still hassle of shopping, washing up and appeasing everyone… its their holiday too.

great bitta kit… its certainly not a pressure washer, it has no more oompf than my normal garden hose so dont use it at home (except as a dog shower with a bucket of warm water) but its class for washing bikes off before they go in the van if theres a river or stream handy! i have a dodgy battery though, could do with replacing it…

i liked it but hope she doesn’t plan on getting re-married because it was very pokey even for one.

nowhere to put stuff – no cupboards anywhere, no wardrobes in the bedrooms… makes me squirm.

im drawing a line in my head between cannock and swinley and picking a point in the middle… seems you could do FOD or South Wales for similar distance.

phew glad its not me who finds it a bit dull…

stuck with it since it got stellar reviews at the beginning but ive not checked them since.

it has some great moments no doubt, but im lost – too many characters who all have similar names and look the same across too many time frames. i’ve absolutely no idea whats going on!

gutted Rhys Ifans character hasnt gotten his hands dirty yet. He was the one i was most excited about – turned out to be the most boring.

@mahalo – excellent idea, thanks, I’ve copied it

im glad!. so simple, but ive used it loads since making it.

you wouldnt lace a whole wheel with it but for changing tyres and tightening spokes its a dream!

Im not going to just unplug and cause conflict. as i said they would be happy to pay if i can come up with a figure.

I do have a smart meter, but wouldnt know how to pull usage information from 6 months ago? its also a pre-paid meter we inherited with the house, and ive never noticed any sort of significant increase or more frequent top-ups!? but then it is only this last few weeks there has been so much activity…

like i mentioned. its amicable. i know the neighbours and their builders quite well, and the main reason i have not said anything so far is the fact I have had them sort a few odd jobs for me while they’ve been here, plus ive helped myself to loads of timber too! i built a decking frame using free wood!

when i used to work away in that neck of the woods (i would always take my bike) i hated swinley! there was enough little bits at the Bagshot end to play about on but honestly dragging it round the whole loop is not mountain biking and not fun. i would usually end up driving to Hindhead or Redlands instead… However, i have since become the owner of a gravel bike and have taken that on some what-would-be-on-my-mtb god awful slogs locally (up north) and thoroughly enjoyed it!! so i reckon Swinley would be a blast on the rigid!! wish id had mine at the time now…

The idea of an all inclusive sit by the pool holiday is my idea of hell. Sit around killing time, get given 3 meals a day and don’t leave the compound. Actually more like prison than hell, and people pay for the privilege.

no need to be so condescending if this is what people enjoy. like i said earlier i have just had a week of full on activities which was brilliant but i still had to provide all the meals myself, pay for all the drinks and ice creams, do al the driving and setting up etc. its a graft.

so im still looking forward to the prison compound holiday.

sit around killing time? you mean relaxing, reading or listening to music; or all the swimming, playing with kids, tennnis, footy, volleyball etc.

given 3 meals a day? and the rest, plus its usually fantastic, you dont have to stress about shopping/cooking or choosing a restaurant. kids get to try new stuff without extra expense and theres always a backup if they dont like it. when you do all the cooking for a house full all year long you appreciate this kind of break.

dont leave the compound? well perhaps but thats your choice. i always will always go the the beach some days, theres always a boat trip of some kind, snorkelling, parasailing, jet skis – and i love a nice stroll down to a little bar of an afternoon too… hell

im normally quite happy to get horizontal by the pool for a week, but decided to leave that for october HT this year and to spend a few days at the inlaws on the Lyyn Peninsular over the school holidays. ive never been for more than 3 or four nights before, its one of them places that is great if the weathers good but super booooooring in the rain – and its always rained at some point.

not last week though!! we stayed 10 days. 10 days wall to wall sunshine. was in the sea every day. did wakeboarding, sailing, coasteering, riding, kayaking, went to Anglesey for a few days too.

honestly better than any foreign holiday ive been on! couldnt sit still but loved it!

nice problem to have. personally every new bike has to be funded by selling the previous one. Although i usually just change the frame and all the gear swaps over… and if i change regularly enough the old frame still holds value (thats my reasoning anyway) i do upgrade (replace mashed) parts quitu frequently too so its not like i stick a load of knackered old guff on the new frame every time either… but i will treat it to fresh rubber.

I just finished a job after 3 months notice. I didn’t even realise I was on 3 months – luckily my new employers didn’t mind too much but personally it’s been 3 months of purgatory where any affection for the role the company or the people has been completely drained. Absolute hellish

Word is that all of the £80 “Used – Very Good” Powerbeats Pro Wireless Beats earphones on Amazon atm basically just fell of a pallet and are new with battered packaging

After returning two pairs of the Jabra to marketplace I took a punt on these and can confirm they have definitely never been out of the box before and they both work perfectly which is a huge bonus!! Well happy
