I wish my horse would know better than to run head first into trees!

also wish bounty hunters would leave me alone! i have no intention of wasting my hard pillaged dollar on paying my own bounty! but im set upon by gangs of em wherever i roam!

found a gold bar last night, worth $500 bucks! Any idea how i cash in on it?? i aint dropping it in Dutch’s box!

haha yeah those couple of stories make you realise how good it is. just gotta sit back and enjoy it!

i rescued a woman tied to a horse, while she was over my shoulder a passer by grassed me up for kidnapping!! turned into a right old tear up…!

Its very high maintenance, already in one mission I’ve disccoved:

You need to wear weather correct clothing.

You need to wash your horse.

    You need to shave.

You need to eat, but just to fix bullet holes, but not to starve.

You need to support the camp and in a few ways.

I flinched when i heard about all this too, but so far in aint so bad (started talking like Arthur..) none of that stuff takes any time really, keep fresh clobber on your horse, walk your horse through water, a clean shave lasts for ages, eating is just like pressing a health boost in a any game and supporting the camp unlocks cool perks.

    PS4 here.

not really finding it that engaging tbh, spent most of yesterday hunting for a frickin grizzly that never showed up!! i heard that their pelt is worth a few bob…

in the end i just thought sod it, crack on with a few missions then i got into some awesome gameplay – the jail break one was great fun! and in the saloon with Lenny!  so i do think its gonna grip me eventually, probably when i unlock the ability to fast travel rather than endless galloping about.

I am a bit disappointed that whenever i try and rob people on the highway i seem to come worse off? there appears to be no way of acting inappropriately to women either! i can antagonise men, and shoot them in the face but theres no sexy time! even the lady in the bathhouse doesn’t do ‘extras’.. i also have millions on bounty hunters on my case!

She’s called Clarisse! Dunno her 2nd name but her forename is easy to recall given it’s a film show *does Hannibal impression* but yeah she’s a bit heavy on all the old feminist shit

Craig Charles lacks charisma but plays some awesome tunes!

    Jeremy Vine i like

Mayo i quite like too, and Kermode – but i do look forward to the weeks when they are not there! id really like one of them to go away at once with a stand in, rather than always both at the same time. id also like it if they had a permanent second critic to challenge Kermode. like when they used to have Boyd and Floyd on. James king was good, what happened to him? Robbie Collins is good too. Doc Brown is my fave stand in for Mayo. DB, Kermode and Collins – that would be a right show!!

i find myself listening to Wittertainment out of habit these days, and pressing the +15 seconds button quite a lot!! i like what they have to say but its all the **** sycophantic listener correspondence, addled with in-jokes and catchphrases, which is unbearable.

who walks out of a cinema, goes home and writes a 3 page email about the film with no guarantee that it’ll get read out? weirdos

Malpensa or Linate? If the former I’d go hang out in Gallarate. Some really nice eateries there and we’ll off the beaten tourist track. If the latter I’d do as you suggest but the restaurants round there are well geared towards the tourist too. There was another thread on here recently with some good reccos!

ridden Sierra de Mijas hills, between Alhaurin and Benalmadena. amazing trails. full on tech, steep rocky & dusty!! was surprised how green and lush it is in places out there too. done uplifts with Switchbacks, done self drive to mijas and pedalled up laps of Sram track area, and used the gondola from Benalmadna too.

I dunno, seems as Enduro has grown, my interest (in taking part) has dwindled. realised id sooner just take the day ive alotted for racing and go ride a mountain or something else instead. paying to ride trail centres (but with added queues)  basically killed my enthusiasm.  that and that crushing feeling when you think you have ridden really well but your times tell you otherwise!! was not fun for me. The Mega 2016 was my last race, which turned out to basically be an inconvenience in an otherwise awesome week riding Alp D’huez…

However I have been tempted again a few times this year, Tweed looked amazing! so I might dip a toe in again next season….

not sure how much the official M&G is but we always use one called LCS, its about £40 for a week

same sort of thing. they meet you at the terminal and drive your car off – then have it waiting for you when you land…

taxi for us is about £70 each way!

might be a crappy bmx track but i like it. you can do two laps? really attack it 2nd time round when not riding blind! could also add in the worlds end loop for your natural fix.

CYB is superior tho. lots more to go at. especially when you use a tailored route that cuts out the nonsense… but i probably wouldnt drive past Deggers to get there…

ive solo’d up the tweed a few times, i just kip on an airbed in the back of the van at buzzards and shower at the campsite. if thats not an option i know the Hydro has single rooms, or maybe get a pod?

i got a bit bored riding BPW on my own, but i stayed at a nice B&B in Crickhowell.

ive also got a folding spade that looks identical to that Gerber, but cost about £15… its not the lightest, but the heft comes in handy when hacking through undergrowth.

that Silky Pocketboy looks nice, although i got one from Asda for £4.

i dont expect it’ll last forever but its hacked down a shed load of overgrowth this summer.. goes through 3″ or 4″ branches like butter!

easy doable in an hour n half, but its a shame to miss out on the black bits while your there.

park at The Plough and ride up in / out of the forest via Offa’s Dyke

ed; the plough has been renovated into a hotel so best ask permission… car park is massive so cant see a problem. you can still chuck a few quid in the pay machine when you pass through the degla carpark if you dont wanna go to hell…

Hello. quick ressurection rather than starting a new thread…

Just been donated a Duramax metal shed. was thinking I could use it as a log store to free up some space in my garage, maybe house the lawnmower and a few other bits & bobs. Doesn’t really need to be secure.

Anyway my question is about the base, it doesn’t come with one, the manual suggests a 2×4” frame with 18mm ply sheet. Is this really necessary? I have flagged area to position it on, and was thinking I could just use a couple of pallets as a floor? The shed comes with a couple of air vents at high level.

I had a very similar experience of Milan. i stayed at a hotel by the Indro Montanelli park. arrived as it was getting dark, ditched my bags & headed out for a quick stomp round town. really not much going on in Milan i found? not so many bustling bars & restaurants you usually find in big cities – just loads of handbag shops! Anyway, had a mooch past the Il Duomo, wandered through Vittorio Emanuele II n’that then ended up eating here https://www.pizzeriamaruzzellamilano.it/ as it was near my hotel.

I have to say it was fantastic. definitely rustic too, certainly no tourists knocking about when i was there, its intimate, tables so close together its almost like bench seating! pretty interesting watching what the locals order.. cant remember what i ate, probably a pizza, but washed down with beer, wine, coffee and limoncello. bang on.

chinos for work here too. cant fault em. always feels a shame to be ass polishing in my good jeans…

i get mine from Next. they do the stretch fit chinos in straight, slim and skinny fit. i go up a size in the skinny and they feel really well fitted -a big big on waist when theyre broken in but nothing a belt doesnt fix.

£22 a pop now, they have just gone up. buy them in ink, black and grey. they dont stand the test of time but for 22 dabs im not arsed….

i unfairly declared it was shite when i went to change a tyre to find it complete dry inside.

However having used alternative products since then and realising that i never punctured the entire time i was running the Stans Race that it is the nuts!

Den of Thieves last night. enjoyed that very much!! although the twist was easy to spot a mile off…

not normally the type of film id go for reading the blurb, and featuring Gerard Butler! but it came heavily recommended and they were right. makes you think how many other good films we dismiss before even giving them a shot…

id be interested to know this too.

i got tired of all the inane bullshit my ‘friends’ post but still quite enjoy the tailored news feed, so i closed my account and started a new one with the intention of having zero friends but just liking and following pages i can read and comment on anonymously.

facebook cant comprehend this and im barraged with ‘people who i may know’ so much so its more annoying than seeing what Sharon had for tea on Tuesday.

think i will go the way of prettygreenparrot

Our detention procedure was a slip of paper you had to take home for parents to sign, different colour slips for more serious offences. White – 30min with teacher, blue – 60min with teacher, yellow 60min with head of year, pink – 60min with headmaster! If you got a pink you’d end up on report too…

White & blue were dished out for fun and I used to just forge mums signature so the rents never knew – was still always home way before them anyway! Yellow or pink were followed up with a phone call home so I’d end up grounded too!! Double bubble!

tbh i never really minded DT’s. you got to just do your homework which id have to find time for anyway, was often a bonus having the teacher there to help.

simple answer to the question; is it worth the 2hr drive? absolutely definitely not.

there is some decent stuff in fairness; i stayed in Bagshot for a while for work and kindda developed a little regular loop to do that took in  (imo) the better sections and babymaker etc with a load of off piste. some quite big jumpy features and nice loamy turns to be found but its few and far between and more often than not id elect to ride elsewhere.

honestly the first (and only) time i followed the official route, i nearly sold my bike!!

i watched all years ago when it came out but the mrs never did.

so we started on it again the other week and were already motoring through season 4!

loving it even more this time!  its not daunting at all, if anything im a bit apprehensive about catching up again too soon…

its the calories that put me off drinking more! that and the groginess in the morning, even after 1 beer or glas sof wine ill have a slight bit of cottonmouth when i wake up. as such i generally try to avoid it during the week – this also helps me appreciate that first beer of the weekend!

a few weeks ago i tried some of that Jamesons Caskmates Stout edition and loved it, then last week i spotted it in Sainsburys so treated myself. that was on my way home on Friday afternoon – when i woke up on Sunday morning it was all gone!! that was quite alarming!! i wasnt on the lash, getting lairy or owt, just sat sipping small measures watching the tele!

i fully intend to get another for this weekend too!

bikes a year old and im on my second pair which i dont think is too bad considering how shitty last winter was.

worrying that you have only had yours since May, and May – July this year was the driest in a  million years!!
