The main non-visually obvious disability that causes people to use disabled loos (and parking bays) is that they are lazy, impatient, inconsiderate t*sspots!

My wife is disabled and has to often stand (yes no wheelchair!) with her legs crossed because some lazy sod can’t be arsed to walk up the stairs in Wetherspoons….

I have a 925 and it’s the best phone I’ve ever had. Never mind the apps – it works really well as a phone, much better than previous Android and iOS phones I’ve owned.

My Vauxhall puts a message up saying “Warning slippery Roads” when the temperature is 3 degrees or less AND I have to press the ok button to get rid of it!!!!! Grrrr…

I’ve ridden all 3. They each have a different “character” to their riding.

BPW is definitely the easiest (overall) – it was designed with trail bikes/riders as the target riders.

The logical step up is Antur as it has blue and red routes which are fine difficulty wise compared to BPW.

As others have said Revolution probably has the most technically difficult riding and is more “traditional downhill”. The red “freeride” they have half built is a contrast to the existing tracks and bloody good fun though :D

    I like all three!

Anyone get to Sherwood Pines over the weekend? I have some work in the area mid week, just wondering if I bring the bike or go swimming…

Was in the other woods to the south on saturday afternoon and they were ok – but they don’t get battered like Pines.

I remember a brilliantly phrased question from when I was at University. It read “Write down what you know about <subject>” I answered “Nothing”. I reckon I should have got 100% for that answer…..!

If you can then go from Mansfield Woodhouse station rather than the town centre one. This will avoid some city centre style riding and you could even do a mostly off road route to the Pines.

Wouldn’t bother ’til it dries out though!

They are all the way across the road which makes it annoying on a bike too.

How can mini-tabletop jumps be annoying? ;)

If you complain to the Police about speeding motorists in your street they will often set up a speed trap and (according to my copper mate) most of the folk that get nicked will be local residents!

It’s because it’s easy to get to for the southern shandy swillers! ;) I’ve been once and it was ok despite the Welsh weather – but not amazingly better than Revolution, Antur, Bringewood, Hopton etc etc. There’s plenty of great uplifted DH venues in the UK. Try some others.

Sherwood will be a bog at the minute. Every braking bump at Cannock will be a puddle at the minute.

An alternative I use which works very well and adds protection for the camera is:

Get the elasticated head mount[/*]

Remove elastic (there are splits in plastic to let you do it non-destructively)[/*]

Drill a hole in it.[/*]

Mount by using the adjuster bolt in the middle of your helmet peak to secure the mount under the peak (might not work on all helmets but works a treat on Giro Remedy).[/*]
Here’s my mate with one mounted this way:

I’ve got some Gore Bike Wear Fusion 2.0 Windstopper Softshell Trousers (large) and they are long enough in the leg. Prob worth trying a pair on?

They zip off to shorts too.

Has anyone ridden or raced at ae? Does it have scope for some good racing?

Did the Gravity Enduro there back in May 2011. Was a mixture of trail centre pedally stuff mixed with a few little off piste rooty bits for stages 1 to 4 and then a version of the DH course for 5/seeding (this was the wet slippy corner carnage video that has been in a lot of posts lately).

So – a mix of fitness and skill was required and the racing was fun.

It’s quite funny watching people without remote attempting a Michael Jackson style crotch grab going for the lever as they hurtle at speed into a steep bit of trail!

Nice… watching your version makes me think i’ll do that on Weds… other version looked a lot more airtime and gappy than yours and worried me a bit actually

You’ll be fine. There’s only one unavoidable (little) drop on that run above that we stopped first run to have a quick look at before we did it.

Here’s us mincing down the other black (which is a bit harder) into some fast blue:

And an easier run (we found a bit pedally in the middle on the big bikes):

Link for the videos from the STW crew? Ta

Dunno which you’re on about but here’s my first visit:

… though I am a “storm trooper” on a 26 inch bike designed specifically for going down not up so probably don’t qualify as STW crew?

My video I posted above includes a very short bit of Whistler XC including some of Foreplay (the end of comfortably numb) that Jonny mentions as well as bike park stuff.

Like he says the AM side of thing is excellent. I’d recommend going with him and experiencing a bit of both worlds – park and valley.

If anyone considering it wants more video and photos I have a full hour and a half of edited Blu Ray (or DVD) of what we did last year! Includes some XC and Bike Park. Obviously it’s specific to us but I’m happy to send out copies for cost of raw materials and postage covered…. just drop me an email.

After our “trip of a lifetime” 6 years ago we’ve been back another 3 times! All staying with Bearback and we’ll be going back again I hope – sticking to our once very 2 years current average! :)

any of the B&Bs – there’s loads in town. Most of a similar standard.

Wouldn’t bother with Rangers yet. I walked down it a week ago and it’s still blocked by bags in loads of places.

The good/bad news is that as you are male that statistically you won’t need much of a pension cuz you’ll be six foot under fairly early on after retiring!

Retirement’ is basically a quaint little never-to-be-repeated anachronism that a gilded generation were allowed to do.

I reckon that for anyone say 45 or under, you can expect to work until you drop, or at the very best, some grim subsistence level existance for a year or so as you shuffle off your mortal coil

Well I only exceed your age limit by a year but reckon on still retiring…. never moving house from the first one I bought and not breeding mean I should hopefully be able to afford it.

Yep it was on there facebook page,23rd march, at hopton again, 4 timed runs on 3 stages (One done twice)

Aha! Missed that. Cheers. Probably up for that when its confirmed. Loosener for the UK Gravity Enduros (assuming I can get an entry to those!) :)
