They’re the same as XT but you can bung any in really depending on how much you want to spend/bearing preference.

When I was chatting to that Guy Kesteven bloke from the mags at a Gravity Enduro and enquiring as to how he was getting on on the wagon wheels he said “I’d be faster on my 26 inch bike”. That was as in depth as it got though!

Have a quiet word with him and say

    a) you are not interested

    b) if he embarresses you like that in front of people again you will take it up with his boss/tw*t him? (delete as you see fit)

time to shop for some longer forks for it then! ;-)

I had a Gemini with Psylos new back in 2001 and the Cannondale adapter on the bottom added quite a bit of height to make the geometry right.

I reckon running Pikes without it would give a pretty steep head angle as the Pikes ain’t that long.

I got rid of the adapter and went for just a headset when I swapped to Z150 forks which were much longer and that worked fine.

Loved that frame – started out with 125mm forks as an XC bike and finished up with 200mm double crowns as a full on DH bike. That’s what I call versatile!

You are assuming all the kids are smart enough and wanting to go to Uni?

Maybe some will turn out to be thickies or not fancy it and save you a few quid?

…. Ooops I forgot. Kids can’t be thick these days can they?

    Got a Cove Stiffee with 30mm and run a KSi7 + shim.

I’d rather it was .9 bigger so I could run a reverb!

Work fine but a bit prone to creaking

They work well for the “fatter handed” gear changer resulting in less snapped chains/mangled mechs!

For those of you that think Aluminium is more resistant to impact damage here’s my mates down tube from a few years back: http://mountainbikerides.co.uk/photos/ouch/broken-bikes/rock-strike-2009.html

And here’s a Santa Cruz another mate tested (without the need for them fancy jigs!) too: http://mountainbikerides.co.uk/photos/ouch/broken-bikes/santa-cruz-superlight-vs-tree-1981.html

    For me it’d be:
    Rockshox not Fox
2 x 10 so you can spin up the climbs
    Mavic 819 rims

…. and some sort of noise baffle to put round the swing arm? ;-)

Already got it! Ibis mojo HD 140, XTR, Reverb, Mavic 819 UST on Hope ProII Evo, King headset, etc etc

Do ’em myself. Maybe once a year or maybe more like what shifter said?

Don’t use fox though – judging by the amount of oil that is on the average set of Fox stanchions they need a top up half way round a ride!

Pinkbike when I got mine. the exchange rate made it very good price and they kindly mark it as worth **** all for customs purposes

WD40 is the only one I use. I use it for displacing water (from my chain) and cleaning and unseizing things.

Can’t think of any use for GT85 if it doesn’t do those? I use (non-spray) lubes as lubes.

how do you remove the chesty specific shoe from the mount? It doesn’t have the same pincers as the smaller shoe.

Chest mount has same insert / remove as all the other mounts. Well mine does anyway!

@Steve77 : I refer you to Hob nobs picture above. You can point it right up at the sky if you want with it mounted that way!

I use 1080 regulary. no probs with frame rate, file size etc but I do have a chunky PC built up especially to handle HD video editing and rendering.

It depends what your target is really – most internet HD is 720p but I like to make Blu Ray discs at 1080 too. Looks ace on the big telly then!

I take it you have done a bit of editing in the past?

I have had assorted helmet cams over the years and have always dabbled….

I attach mine similar to Hob nob’s photo and set the camera to upside down mode. Filming in 960p seems to get the best results chest mounted as it is the widest vertical angle of all the modes

I subscribe to ST and Dirt. I quite like Dirt and Jones’ articles at the minute. The typface thing was a problem a while back but its mostly okay of recent as far as I remember.

But what do I know? I’ve got max 50mm stems on all my mountain bikes including the ones I ride for longer than two hours! ;-)

Been donkeys years since I went down one but I’d say yeah they are worth a go.

One of ’em (Speedwell??) has a boat ride in it for a bit of added excitement… I’m sure there’ll be plenty of info and pictures and stuff if you search this here interweb thingy…

The ??? is because the front one stayed up for weeks then decided to “unseal” and now has sealed again – all without my intervention!

I did a Ae and Kielder last year and enjoyed both. I’m definitely “average” and didn’t find anything at either to scare me off trail wise. The competition was hot though with lots of ex-DH racers and I was right at the back results wise.

Atmosphere was good. Weather was somehow p*ss poor at virtually every event when virtually every other ride I did all year was dry!! Mr Parr obviously ain’t friends with who/whatever up above! ;-)

The main thing that puts me (and many of my mates) off is the price. I totally understand all the costs involved but when you are at the back the only thing that diffrentiates it from a (totally free) normal ride is some times on a web site a couple of days later. Don’t know what to do to fix this but it didn’t feel like value.

When I did a couple of the earlier French organised enduros at Kielder they were half the price and I got a jersey and a bag of stickers, free mag etc. Maybe try to get the sponsors to give some stuff for something like that?

I finally checked and mine have all the right writing on the sidewalls.

(in the shed) The rear seems to be staying up and the front going down currently….
