The frame should have no issues. If mine did i wouldn’t hesitate to invoke full warranty. 😯

Oh also got a fully serviced 200 x 57 Monarch plus going if needed.

Onzadog, issues with the frame or components?

Getting the spacer removed was £20 as quoted to me. Flotec are not far from me so easy to pop in. Takes half an hour tops apparently.

Hey Onzadog, not fitted it yet, i need to get a spacer removed internally next week to get it changed from 200×50 to fit the RFX 200×57. Should be up and running next week but i have fork issues as well so running the hardtail a lot t the moment.

How you finding the RFX, im loving mine. Wouldn’t pay new prices tho. £3000 for the frame 🙁

Just moved on from my Monarch plus to a Fox Float x2. It was a decent enough shock but slightly wooden feeling with the Turner RFX frame. I think i just needed a bit more tuning options than the monarch has so i could fettle more..

I have a Chromag samurai. Absolute beast. I never thought i would love a hardtail so much.

I beg to differ mekedabear, i bought mine 2 years ago. A 2007 a 2.0l Vivaro. I had issues with the injectors but absolutely nothing else has gone wrong. I have put about 30 thousand miles on the clock. I also know a few people with Transporters who are having constant problems with them and they are not a cheap fix either. Vans are pretty much the same regardless of badge. I kitesurf and bike so do know a lot of people with vans and transporters are so overpriced for what they are. Vivaro or the new fords are the compromise at the moment IMO

What is the deal with the torque caps I have been reading about on a couple of reviews? I may have a slight hangover but I’m hoping that I was getting the wrong end of the stick. Can these be run with any 15mm x 100mm wheelset?

£140 each plus VAT and fitting. Oh how i chuckled 😯 😀

I always got on with Flow EX, but after trying out some pretty wide carbon wheels i am now sold on the extra width, just not the feeling of Carbon unfortunately. I was erring down the new flow Mk3 route but am open to any suggestions really. Thanks all ill get my google fu working later 🙂

As long as the weight is reasonable then I am happy. Cheers, I’ll have a look at those two.

Badnewz, I don’t ride motorbikes and have never had the urge until I saw that thing of beauty you have coming your way. Then saw this in Vimeo. Doubt the lifestyle would work in Scotland though 😀

Awesome, when I part ways with my vivaro a caddy will be the next choice. Great wee vans!

If all you re doing is weight etc then what you have is more than sufficient. Minimal cushioning will be best.

If you find 5:10 a bit bulky and cumbersome etc just find a cheap set that you like, are comfy and again have minimal cushioning.

If you start running then thats a different story but there is no need to break the bank. Or even spend any money. Do you not have an old set of trainers that fit you well??

Try them and see how you get on. Stability is where its at so that you can apply tension during workouts. Soft trainers are not very supportive and can lead to a whole host of other issues.

Webster, what size are you. I have a pair of five ten elements in 43. Very good nick. They are surplus to requirements.

Email me if that suits as I am sure whatever you can pay I’ll accept. I’d rather someone used them than just going to waste on a shelf in my garage.

Everyone loves to smack others down on here eh? At least mboy puts his money where his mouth is and openly admits the pros and cons of the bikes he sells.

Hope pro hubs can be converted with removing the end caps. You should be able to pick up a cheap as chips wheel with this hub. Ebay is always good or take thr rim to your LBS and get then to rebuild. But like you say cost then rises.

mitsumonkey, that swhy i bough t a load of RDSB shares last christmas. They were as low as they had been for about 5 years and i was very confident that they would only go one way. Plus knowing very little about investing i wanted a rock solid company which as i was contracting for Shell at the time i knew they were. Their dividends are around the 5% mark. And i just reinvest every quarter.

BUT i know very very little about this game, i work with a very smart lad who has done extremely well out of it but none of it was luck. He does an extraordinary amount of research into where he plows his money into and waits. He plays the longer game.

Only dabble a little. Need to do a lot more research before I play with more money.

RDSB and Sound Energy are my current investments.

Nobeer, i will be heading up at some point next week if there is a weather window and i can slip my misses some sleeping pills to stop her obsessing over christmas shopping.

Has the bottom section been ruined then, I love that section?

Anything to get the day over, I just like normality.
I’m working till Xmas eve then back in on the Tuesday. Rather be at work than having to be nice to people you hate and generally jolly through the crappy Xmas period.
    Bah humbug…….

Seriously?? That’s actually pretty sad 🙁

Its not one or the other, foam rolling followed by some mobility / stretching is the answer. There is so much written about this now. A couple of times a week and you will see benefits very quickly.

On the mobility front check out Abi on pinkbike who does some yoga videos. She has a mobility routine and they are only 15 minutes long. Very good and way better than any other i have tried.

hughjateeens, well done for getting an entry. I have done both this and Trans Provence and my advice is…

Take good waterproofs. You may never need them but trust me if you do, then you really do 🙂
A set of clothes for every day of riding may seem overkill but you do work very hard and its a nice luxury.
    Loads of socks.
Get your nutrition bang on ie know what works for you on long days in the saddle as doing 6 days back to back is not funny when you are hanging out.

The most important is to mellow out and look around you, it’s so easy to get caught up in everyone else mad rush but the week will be over in a flash and you want to actually experience it.

And make sure your forks are set up right, you point downhill a lot. 🙂

    Enjoy

Boardinbob, not wanting to go to Dunkeld in October is a bit odd. It’s my main area for riding and i think it was at its prime this year about august-october. What let it down last year was running the race in March. It’s way to early in the year for any all natural venue especially one with steep valleys where the sun does not get to until at least April.

Glad inners is back. Love that place.

Jemima, I took a year off from racing this year to focus on other things. Mainly do some guiding qualifications and basically enjoy riding my bike away from any competitiveness. Now I’m absolutely hankering to get stuck in again. If you are not feeling it for whatever reason then step away for a while and ride for the fun of it again. 🙂

Update time, got in touch with Jaybirds online support and 5 minutes later all was well in my sad wee world. All I had to do was reset the earphones and reconnect. So far so good.
