Na, rubbish bit of kit TBH. A folding saw is an ace tool that weighs next to nothing but is good at clearing light deadfall etc etc.

Hey gotbike, firstly if you get in touch with MRP directly then I’m sure they will be in touch pretty quickly as they are very very good at customer service. I had a few issues with my stage when i first got it and weirdly enough i ended up on a conference call with both Noah Sears and the CEO (cannot remember his name) as they hadaf  few problems with other forks and were trying tog get to the bottom of the issue.

Also if my LBS told me to bin them and get a set of coils i would be looking for a new LBS pretty sharpish.

Good luck on getti.g them sorted but i really believe MRP are one of the best companies to deal with out there.

I have a Fenix 5. Great size as i have small wrists. way too much watch for me so ill be selling on but i have to admit i like what Garmin have dome with this one. Very easy to use. No end of customisation.

I wish i could say that i needed a watch with as much functionality but i really don’t.

sj4000 is a very good alternative. Buy off Amazon to ensure non fakeyness.

Both are very good days out, as tjagain says there is a nice mellow route round Loch Ordie if Bienn Ghlas  has wiped you out. Or there are many trails that are pretty easy to get to. I don’t have a gpx to hand but everything is on trailforks. Most are pretty full on but amazing.

I have only done Ben Lawers once and i did it as s loop. We didnt get to the top as it was blowing a hoolie. Only advice i would give is go early, or late to avoid walkers. Its a very very busy hill.

Have a look at The Naked Trader. Basically an intro to stock market trading book for dummies.

Yep, best plan i would say! Just carry on with your day serenely and chuckle when you realise dicks will always be dicks and they can’t affect you if you don’t let them.

A fair mixture of both. Upper body / core strength is essential for long efforts in the saddle. But time on the bike is also very much needed. 2 good sessions in the gym with a mixture of upper / lower / core work along with a couple of good rides a week will see you right.

Do it, like you say if 1 rotation pays the same as your current salary what have you got to lose. If you find the time away too much ( as i would) then you have some breathing room financially to sort something else out.

I don’t know if it’s still the gold standard but for the money they are bloody brilliant. A few wee tweaks of the exposure settings really make a big difference. The only thing gopro have going for them now is the waterproofing without a case. But let’s be honest with the use most of use have got them. That’s no biggy most of the time.

Ok of the wall here, but if I was buying a set of forks now and I was on a budget I would look no further than a set of Manitou Mattocs from CRC. There is a massive thread on MTBR about them. At £350 it’s another brainer

bigjim, im 99 percent certain you can upgrade to coil but you cant then go back due to the scoring that the coil would make to the inside of the stanchions. That was from Noah sears on MTBR

MRP Ribbon without a doubt. Enough tune-ability to get what you want without needing a degree in astrophysics. I have the stage and its been absolutely faultless. The coil ribbon is next on my list depending on cash flow this winter.

I have absolutely no doubt the other forks you mention will do you fine. Also not wanting to sound like a complete internet w@nker but if you don’t really know what you want ie tuning and options then go for a simpler fork so you can increase your knowledge of how forks work and what all the adjustments actually do in the real world. Most people don’t and that includes me. I like what i like and so there. 🙂

BUT and there is also a but, if money was tight a Manitou mattoc would be next in line. Do not listen to what people tell you on the trails and make decisions based on that. That way lies financial ruin and madness 🙂 Not really but you know what i’m getting at.

Pink Floyd and rake and ruin. Both pretty easy to find. Good intro and nothing too gnarly. Then across the road up to the mast and you have Slater’s. Bit more techy but very very good.

I havn’t used OS Maps mobile version since purchasing Viewranger. From what i remember, and i may be wrong i couldn’t access mapping if i had no mobile signal. Has this changed? I still subscribe as its an amazing tool for planning routes and the new 3D view is ace. Also printing the sections you need is worth the money alone.

Nice video. I got my grubby mitts on a Mavic Pro last week, had a few niggles with it but thats down to the sheer volume of setting up i think and getting a full understanding of menus and how they work. Not had many flights due to fairly high winds which is gutting as it has been beautiful blue sky weather this last week. As i am a novice i’m just taking my time with the flights and not pushing it too far until i get my head round its capabilities.. It has to be said the footage is pretty unreal. 4k and photos are outstanding.

Like you say, never take your eyes off the drone. Mine decided to disconnect from the controller while out at sea, not too far but enough for panic mode to engage 🙂

Protein shakes can definitely be of use for convenience, they get some fuel / recovery whatever down your neck easily and quickly. BUT they are also a bit of a fad for people who don’t really know how to train, just exercise a bit and feel they will get better results by drinking them. These people should learn to push themselves a bit harder / smarter to get better results but thats not how the supplement industry works though. The promised land of chiseled bodies are where its at 🙂

Im in the same position as you, my vivaro is dying and i just really fancy a change,

i joined a couple of VW Trasporter groups on Facebook. Every day a couple come up for sale. It gives you a good idea of what type of van goes for money wise.
