Thing i’m not sure about, are the grips themselves interchangeable. How do i change them to ones i like or when the fitted ones get worn?

Infact i just engaged my brain and figured it out in 3 seconds. Ta 🙂

OK, fitted it and i think i likey 🙂 it will take a bit of getting used to i think but overall the shifting is so much crisper and sharper.

    Cheers all.

I think i have found the holy grail, shimano RT76 rotors with Rahox pads.

Amazing stopping power and a set of pads lasted a whole week in the Alps. 26.000m of descending.

The pads were reviewed by Doug from Basque MTB and i trust his opinions, £13 quid a pop makes me a happy boy 🙂

For me what made it an amazing experience was meeting and riding with so many great lads and ladies that you would never normally meet.

The standard of trails were immense. From some very hard technical runs to sublime flowy singletrack.

Its quite surprising how quickly you get used to riding as fast as you can into blind trails though. 🙂

Best and hardest 6 days on a bike. That rain on day 3 messed with my morale 🙂

Head a bit further north and get to Dunkeld. The riding there is immense. I can try and dig out a gpx of the second Enduro route for ya. Some of it might be tricky to find without a GPS route.

My missed did her HNC / HND in photography a couple of years back. At first we thought the same as yourself and tried to persevere with a windows laptop but there were a lot of compatibility issues, mainly software related with crossing work over from college to home. I cant remember exactly what they were but we eventually got a mac and she never looked back.

Just banged my bike in an Evoc bag for the first time, they are an absolute thing of beauty. So well thought out.

I maybe went a bit overkill and took the brakes and rear mech off along with the rotors but in 15 minutes i was done.

I have a medium spitfire and it really is a do it all bike, long trail days are absolutely fine on it. The suspension is very very good. I came from a DW Link 5 spot and they are very similar in feeling.

It does love to be pointed downhill, inface its an animal on the downs but it really climbs well.
I am running mine with an X-Fusion 02 shock which is way better than i was expecting.

Currently fitted out for the Alps with Magic Mary on the front, HD on the rear and still its sitting at the 30lbs mark.

I am adopted, from day dot with my lad he knew. We joked about me being the odd one out etc.

Its only a problem / weird issue if you make it one.

Ha, exactly the same thing happened to me this week. 😯

I had to blink almost twice when it hit the bank 🙂

Insertion tool and worms only?? i would say you also need the tube of glue as well, thats what gives the worms/plugs/anchovies a near permanent seal.

That kit really works if like everything you use it right.

Oh and on the Hans Damphs, they had been absolutely ragged and i am amazed they lasted that long. My point was that the plug repairs really do last the length of the tyre if done right 🙂

Finally, a subject on here that i know loads about.

The kit that househusband above has linked to is the daddy, follow the instructions and the repair will last the life of the tyre. I have just binned a Hans Damph that was losing all the side knobbles. It has probably done a good 8 hard months, it has 5 of those bad boys in place and they are as solid as a rock.

You can also remove them and patch from the inside. I have done this a few times and never had an issue.

The anchovies can be ordered cheap as chips from ebay along with more vulcanising glue as needed.

My spitfire is pretty new. The old bike would never have lasted the week 🙁

Just got used to it now and its running like a dream. 🙂

Don’t worry too much. I admire someone who stands up for their rights and doesn’t just accept being bullied around by government bureaucrats. I’d certainly use TA, in fact I probably will.

Spot on, infact ill see u guys in a couple of weeks. Like you say there will always be people who agree with you and those that don’t. At least no matter how this pans out you can look yourself in the mirror and know you did what you thought was right. Good luck.

I have a cracking LBS who get my support as much as i can. But they don’t stock all the bits and bobs that i like so ill order them happily online.

But all my big stuff like forks, brakes etc etc are all LBS bought.

I asked the same advice a while ago and for me the Lumix GF2 came up trumps. Its a fantastic wee camera which came with 2 x lenses. A fixed 14mm and a 14 – 42mm.

Fully manual to fully automatic with every conceivable setting in between.

i got mine from ebay at a vey good price.

I did it last year, it was a cracking weekend. Stages 4 and 5 were amazing TBH.

Heading to the Alps this year so wont make it unfortunately.

Yep, bleed it and make sure there is 250PSI in there, should work a treat.

I am absolutely loving my spitfire, i have only had it a month but its a definite step up from my old 5 spot. It climbs very very well and descends like an animal.

Why all the CCDB’s though guys. On the recommendation of a guy i know who really knows his stuff suspension wise i bought the frame with am X Fusion 02 shock. Its pretty awesome to be honest. Way better that the Fox RP23 i have had on previous bikes.

Ah cool, saw that but it looks wider than the hose (online) so i thought there may be an issue threading it through the frame hole. Mine looks pretty small diameter.

Yep, it seems we have had better weather in Scotland than some of the Alps recently. Still can’t wait though.

Weird, not had the battery problem you have had but my Moto 4g decided not to recognise my my MicroSD card last night. As the majority of my apps were on it i was not best pleased.

Been running fine for the last month and its a class 10 card thats had no problems prior to the update.

I am no fanboy, infact i cant stand Hamilton TBH. But this year he has shown just how lightening fast he is. He makes other great drivers look pretty average ( yes i know he has the best car). He is slowly learning to just get on with things and not act like a whiney 5 year old when things are not 100% perfect. He is also very good for F1 as a whole. The amount of people who tune in just to watch him battle it out is pretty unreal. He is a true racer IMO.

Now i was always a bit of a fanboy of Button, again i don’t know why but i saw on one of the sites that amongst the many many rumours going around at the moment is one that that Grosjean is looking for a drive away from Lotus next year, i think McLaren would be a very good place for him, take Buttons seat and there will be a very good pairing at McLaren.

If you check the Continental site it recommends rubbing sealant into the inside of the tyre by hand prior to fitting. 😀 Pain in the baws but if it keeps them up then i guess its worth it 😉

chapaking, i don’t know how reliable the wetsuit glue repair is on tyres, but i kitesurf as well as bimble on a bike and i have repaired a 1″ slice in a wetsuit and it is still going strong after about a year. It is about a fiver a tube so at least worth a try.

I have repaired a few tyres like this. Sealant normally does the job with small holes but i seem to be a bit of a rear tyre killer so have had to learn to repair them or be very broke 🙂

If i am out on the trail i use these Tubeless Repair, they work very well and if you follow the instructions they will last the life of the tyre.

I f for whatever reason you need to repair a tyre at home i use this procedure, the second one 🙂 Patch repair.

Oh i found a great tip online the other day, use wetsuit glue on the outside cut after you have repaired it, that type of glue is not brittle and moves with the tyre but holds its integrity, just for a bit more bonding.
