Dream Wife – an absolute favourite band of mine and my “dream wife” – see what I did there! Followed their career for some time now, brilliant live! How old are the children, they ain’t for the faint of heart!!!

Just for completeness, rode Coombs Wood at the weekend and it was great. However I would say that the majority of the trails are more DH/Enduro. Excellent use is made of the hill but the trails are very steep, tight switchbacks and some seriously gnadgery stuff there. Not for the fainthearted and expect some OTB moments! There is one trail call “Bumps” that is more flowy with nice berms etc., it was a lot of fun on the hardtail but just be cautious on the (very) steep stuff of which there is a lot.

Thanks for the reply, bit disappointing to read though. Thankfully from an MTB prospective I’m not based in Carlisle but will be staying there a fair bit over the coming weeks so was planning on bringing my bike. So I take it that the trails in Trailforks located just south of Armathwaite are not worth a visit?

Thanks, yeah the list of calipers includes mine. They’re from China and seen a few like that. Might give them a pop, nothing ventured nothing gained…

Doesn’t fit in all cranks, SRAM DUB being a good example as I’ve found to my frustration.

This is unbelievably tragic! Such desperately sad news. Sincerest condolences to his family and friends 🙏

Cheers! I’d seen that the blue and green were closed but nothing about the red. But now I’ve scrolled up as you’ve suggested and there it is, closed!

    Appreciate the heads up!

Thanks Gary, I may have a look at doing this.

For the first 4 years this is a hire process so your employer will own £1000 worth of your bike and you’ll own the rest. What should happen after that is that the £1000 should move, for a nominal fee, to you scheme you used for the remaining 3 years and then you own the “entire” bike.

I just didn’t realise you can offset a chunk of the bike to Cycle Scheme as opposed to all of it…

So how does that work when the Cycle Scheme has a limit of £1000 – do you just pay the difference and hope there isn’t a “future debate” about who owns the bike?

Top tip @scotroutes – will need to get myself out to the gym and work off more of that Christmas turkey, I’ll aim for 2:45 in 2017, happy to set really challening objectives – lol 🙂

So not leaving the segment makes a lot of sense especially when the obvious gathering point is pretty much at the exit of the trail. So basically once leave “finish”pedal away for a bit and properly “clear” the segment!

Cheers guys – awe the best for 2017!!!

Yup Pedal Cover gets my vote too! Very good and clever policy!

Thanks – it’s just a commute bike so hoping to find something a lot cheaper than those…

Rust is very prominent now! Drop-outs are thinning and I’m generally losing confidence in its ability to stay under me especially when braking hard…

So no part number found, but googled the hub which is FH-RM65 and the freehub body is part number Y-3CT 98040…

    Hi perthmtb

Basically I have a cheap MTB rear wheel on my commute bike with a basic Shimano branded 9spd hub. I’ve stripped it a couple of times to service the bearings but now the freehub is slipping a bit. Once the pawls catch it is fine so I’m not too hindered by it – yet. I’ve subsequently taken off the freehub body by using a largish allen key inside it to remove it and found a kinda splined interface between it and the hub. It does look like a self contained component and I couldn’t see an obvious/easy way of taking it apart to clean the pawls etc.

When I search for Shimano Freehub body in CRC (say) I see a number of options, many of which appear to have the same splined interface and was just wondering if I could buy the cheapest one and it would happily fit. Will take it off again and see if I can locate a part no and see what Mr Google finds for me…

    Cheers

Thanks for all the responses, guess I’ll have to stop being lazy and take the thing off again and hunt out the part number on it…

Absolutely none taken – twas a total “doh” moment for me. Put a couple of posts on differing forums including this one and then had my moment of enlightenment and ran a Google search. Needless to say there were a lot of subsequent posts stating the obvious ;o)

    Happy days…

    Thanks Guys

Oddly enough for me I seem to have completely forgotten about Google and have found a good few online retailers so will see what my LBS says and make the necessary purchase.

    Cheers
