My understanding is that if you eventually remember then nowt to worry about, just age, stress, tiredness etc.

(My dad has dementia so had to read up on a few things)

I’ve had a few bits and pieces from them over the years. A wheelset that sounded like a load of angry wasps but worked well. Various chainrings, grips etc. I’d probably have got more if black stuff didnt seem to sell out first,

I loved living in the Basque country (10 years). Unfortunately aging, ill parents meant me and the OH needed to come back to England. Moved a bit around the North of England but now found a really good place for us. Cloughton, a village on the border of Scarborough/North York Moors. We’ve got proximity to countryside, decent pub,  facilities, transport, parents and we both work from home.

Very cheap to go thru late at night and then stay overnight in Formula 1 in Coquelles.
Nice to start your long drive close to motorway already in the right country.

I always book the cheapest ticket on the day i want, usually 2am. Non flexi

You are allowed to be 24 hrs late, they stickj you on the next available, never had to wait more than an hour.
    Used the tunnel 20+ times.

    As for Cascais…

The Castle thing looks quiet and nowty but there is a nice bar within it, nice  place to sit with a cold drink.

If you are on the beach and the locals all start packing away and leaving , that usually means they aer about to release a bull on to the beach.

Continue thru Cascais to the Atlantic coast (walakable), theres a lighthouse converted to a bar and the beach runs for miles with pretty wild waves, lots of surfers, goes all the way to Sintra (i think). Seom pretty good mtbing just off theat coastal stretch.

I lived in Cacais for a year or so, but was a while ago so memory a little fuzzy,

Could you not buy a house yourself, using the 20K from the pension and let your son rent it from you at a rate where he has enough left over to save for himself. Further down the line sell/gift it to him.

I subscribed since the appeal. Still find the mag a hard read, I rarely get through a full article.

    Pictures are nice though,

Starmer has handled this badly. Should have been a free vote. I can see the arguments for and against a ceasefire, it’s not black and white and should have let MPs vote with what they think and accept that there is a difference of opinion in how to stop the deaths.

But, there are lots of people revelling in trying to make out that Labour MPs (but not Tories bizarrely) are pro genocide for voting against a ceasefire. Clearly this is bollocks it’s like saying pro ceasefire people are Hamas supporters, again bollocks.

    It’s all very sad,

That’s me, except I’ve been here a year now. Moved house because of new job, so location and my last year of fuckwittery are making it harder to get a new one.

Rouvy – When I started with it, was great. Preferred it to Zwift.

But they seemed to rush out a load of updates that basically broke it (at least for me, and I think others)

This was backend of last winter, I’m tempted to give it another go for the coming winter, see if it’s improved.

If you can get a trial, give it a go.

    Long weekend in Winchester.
    Week in Athens.
    Last weekend in Stirling.
Will be a few more long weekends in Scotland. Nothing booked in advance yet. Usually wait to see what’s reasonably priced

I’d be up for a meetup too. I live not far away (Malton), been walking there, saw some riders, asked them about trails and they were very vague about things as if they were doing something illegal.

I got an ESE pod specific machine from illy. Very happy with the convenience/quality ratio.
Only downside is having to get pods online rather than from shop. Plenty to choose from though

I was dubious about SRAM – but bike came with GX Eagle 12 speed. Over 2 years it’s been flawless, recently bent the mech and got the AXS upgrade kit. So far, so good.
