Finished Season 4 the other night, reckon watching episodes 1, 9, and 10 would have kept the main story arc going. The rest, though i enjoyed them felt like a sub story. Roll on season 5.

I use a Pod Point charger with my model 3. Install £1135 including the unit but £800 of grants in Scotland. 30 miles an hour so ideal for overnight. Links to wireless for updates and also to tell you how much energy has been used. You can plug in your electricity rate to the app and get it in £s. Nice unit, 5mtr cable.

Firefly is very good. Theres also a film, Serenity. Again tonnes of promise but cut short.

Ooohh.. I didn’t like the look of altered Carbon when first release, then gave it a go. Awesome! Well worth watching but too short, hope there’s a season2.

Who said Witcher was for teen girls?? I think it showed a lot of promise and given another season or two will find its sweet spot.

two best things so far, swipey keyboard seems better than gmails gboard and the volume control display is now discreet instead of a huge box in middle of screen.

As we are at the start of the EV revolution i don’t think you can compare the current ICE infrastructure to the current EV infrastructure. I’m interested in one as the wife has a regular 80 mile commute. Therefore 99% of journeys will be within one day and charging at night. Yes some may have some extreme needs so maybe an EV isn’t suited for you, yet. Trucks / pickups are on the horizon Click here.

For longer journeys, cant you just plan where you will stop and look for what charging stations are there beforehand and load the appropriate apps. Have a backup in case of faults / squatters. Things will / are improving every month.

Someone mentioned insurance was difficult to get. I contacted Admiral for a quote and while Tesla model 3 wasn’t on their database yet, the agent contacted the underwriters and got back to me with 4 hours with a quote.

Regarding servicing, i spoke to the Tesla agent and they recommend coming in every 2 years.

Personally i think we are just at the Model T era of EV production and it wont take 100 years to get to the current ICE evolution stage.

Looks like the new v3 supercharger can charge up to 1,000 miles in an hour. That would mean the model 3 would be about 20-30 mins to charge.

Just started researching electric cars and came across zap-map.com . Way more charging points than i thought existed. Also the model 3 not only takes type 2 connectors but also CCS. The supercharger is basically designed to fast charge a Tesla as quick as possible, but you can still get a fast charge with type 2 / CCS, just not as fast as a supercharger.

no, its an extra layer on top of lat / long that is run by a company looking to make money. It also doesn’t translate well for non-English speakers. Its also not open source so the algorithms for words use / generated aren’t peer reviewed.

If you have a data signal to download the app then you should have lat / long and use the built in compass apps.

fēnix 3 is the uncompromising GPS sport watch designed for demanding athletes and outdoor adventurers. Adding Elevate™ wrist heart rate3 to this powerful watch makes it ready for action and competition at any time.

It introduces a tough athletic design with quality materials and smart features.

Serious Style That Stands Up to the Roughest Conditions

These are some of the quotes from the Garmin website about the Fenix 3 HR. Mine lasted just over two years and seems there are similar stories of failures quite early in the life of the watch. If your going to promote a tough watch to use in the roughest conditions i expect it to last longer, or at least backed up with like for like replacement within a longer time frame than 2 years.

Looking at the Virgin trains page, last week in October is £47 down for the 4hr 30min train (slower options available for cheaper), Glasgow central to euston. £83 one way if you want First class. Similar prices for return.

Have you left it running overnight to drain the battery? I did resets, draining battery and software updates and while after each one it didn’t appear to work, like i said it did start working within a few days. Still going 6 months later.

I’ve a Garmin Fenix 3 HR and my heart rate sensor failed. Garmin support wanted £120 to replace but as it was just over 2 years old i grudged paying it and bought a £30 strap. I did all the reset / diagnostic stuff to no avail, then one day it started working again. i think it was related to the upgrade to 5.4 but i cant be certain. Are you on the latest software?

There’s a cycle count meter installed a year ago that sits at the start of Glasgow green as you leave the city centre. I’ll see what it says tonight on the way past, its a busy route.

It is a very successful procedure, and given the investment in technology it’s very safe. But it’s still a surgical procedure as a cut is made in the eye (nowadays usually with a laser rather than blade so more consistent and safer)

I worked in the IT department developing the medical software for tracking outcomes and the results were very impressive. There are also varying degrees of complications ranging from dry eye (fairly common and treated with eye drops) to severe infections resulting in damage to sight (none recorded when I left).

However the procedure reshapes the cornea to allow the image to focus properly on the retina. From about mid 40’s onwards it’s generally the elasticity of the lens that causes problems. So your eye could be shaped to focus correctly but your lens can no longer squash and stretch enough to adjust for near and far sight so the focal point is ‘out’

Anyway, get a free consultation from a qualified ophthalmologist and speak to them. My daughter (-4.5) 19 years old wanted it and I supported her. She claims it’s the best decision of her life as she’s got 20/20 vision and doesn’t need glasses or contacts.

Key things, get lasik not lasek. IK cuts a flap and results within a few hours. EK is cheaper but longer recovery (7 days +) and more infection risk as it ‘melts’ the front of the cornea.

Choose a laser cut rather than blade. And choose a custom map procedure which tailors the program to your cornea imperfections.

Sounds to me like 4 days to cause some mischief. Send pizzas in for the team at lunch, obviously cash on delivery with your bosses name on it. Phone some suppliers and cancel / double orders. or just write it off and ride your bike.

Sometimes though you can never win. I had a bell and rang it as i approached a reclined three wheeled bike. Path is a canal path and about 1.5 mtr wide. As the recline bike was mostly on the right and the left was the better line choice i also shouted ‘on your left mate’. To which he replied by moving to the left and shouting ‘You’re only meant to pass on the right’. Thought about a sarky reply but was in too good a mood.

New one on me but just shows you cant please all the people all the time!

Some good advice there about removing yourself from the day to day. I like double positive things like

Cooking – put music on, relax, enjoy making it and enjoy others eating it
Cycling – Enjoy the ‘burn’ of cycling, come home, chill and feel the aftermath of tired limbs
Family – Just enjoy their life stories, while basking in the glow that you’re part of it.

theres many more examples in simple things, just look for them.

i used to get annoyed at things, but my wife / family taught me to enjoy the moment. (they didn’t teach by design but through experience)

    tldr; ride bikes, eat food.

Not sure its necessary to travel the extra miles to Leith. plenty of pubs in Grassmarket area. If that’s not working out, short(ish) walk to Rose st (other side of Castle). No specific recommendations but lots of choice.

How old is the wean? some sections are unridable and require a bit of hike a bike. Can (s)he lift their bike and walk, climb for a short distance. Its mainly the Loch Lomond side.

Got my daughter an HP Omen for school / gaming. Separate graphics card, 128GB SSD and a 1TB HDD, 8GB ram, £800 from PC World. Looks cool with a funky lit keyboard thats customisable, great display.

Thinking of binning my mac for one as swaying back towards Windows 10 again.

I enjoy a drink or two prior to a flight, then a few on it. I hate the fact my choices are being removed by the lowest common denominator of humanity who get out of hand and offend people or worse. This mentality is affecting many aspects of life and This broadbrush approach to ‘problem solving’ needs to stop.

On the Black Belle mission and came across a crowd of KKK holding a ritual in the forest. flicked through the inventory wondering how to disrupt it and came across a stick of dynamite. Big Grin, light, throw. Only one survived and he got the business end of a double-barreled shotgun. Hugely satisfying.

Not sure if the OP is alluding to Charge Backs. However it doesn’t really cover card authorisations that haven’t been collected, more to do with faulty / not received goods. Mastercards guide might give you some guidance regarding authorisations (p64), but its a hefty read.

If you’re happy with the goods just pay them.

Yes, technically you cant pass or fail a CBT but you need to complete it to get a nice certificate which is a pre-req for riding a moped / motorbike along with a provisional licence. There are some exceptions if you have other licences / limit your engine size.

Mike_P, i took a CBT course with 4 other people. First half of day was in the yard practicing turns, figure 8’s, braking etc. second part was a road ride. The instructors refused to let 2 people onto the road as they hadn’t been competent in handling / stopping. No arguments from anyone on that, they were pretty bad. One young lad had been riding scramblers for years and it showed in the yard, but he didn’t drive. i returned from my road ride and the young lad was sat looking glum. his instructor had cut the ride short after he blasted through a give way and nearly got wiped out. Me and the other guy passed so less than 50% success based on my experience.
