Similiar issue with daughters car, manufacturers recall but no space at dealer to fix it for 3 months and no courtesy car until they assessed it. Spoke to CAB and as its financed she doesnt own the car and its Black Horses problem to sort. one week later it was accepted to dealership and fixed that day. Black Horse were very easy to deal with, far better than dealership.

Sorry to hear that Daz. Was in a similiar situation 15 years ago and still remember coming home to a house stripped of all movable furniture and the silence because my two daughters were away with their mum. We agreed access rights pretty quickly without lawyers so id make that priority number 1. 15 years on, i still have a great relationship with my kids and i also have 2 step kids and we’ve formed a really tight *new* family. It will get better, may not seem it now, but it will.

lots, like 25%-35% difference. Tesla model 3, normally c200 miles range every morning. Did a journey ive done previously on one charge (150 miles) no problem, totay, got to the supercharger with 3% left, 10 miles from the house. Only 3 years old!

I think next year 5G will improve. The main reason is that 3G is being switched off, similar to the USA last year. This frees up bandwidth on the backbone networks and with the installation of new 5G masts both the backend and front end will start to align.

im still not sure how areas like the Scottish Highlands and Islands will fare as faster speeds, generally mean smaller coverage areas per mast, which means more masts, infrastructure.

Being hit from behind by a speeding car in broad daylight on a straight road with clear line of sight. Got to be charged with some motoring offence at least, if not something more serious.

Ive come across this in Teams as its not fully adopted where i work. Spent some time on it and you can email but its a pain. If you click the 3 dots on the channel and get email address you get a Teams unique email address. Thats half the battle. Next you need to speak to your admin to go into the Teams admin site and run some Powershell on that unique teams ID to make it visible to Outlook. Lastly in Outlook 365 you need to look at the bottom of your inbox for a folder called Groups and you should see it. You’ll also need to faff about with alerts to not just in Outlook but teams and Windows to get notified. Huge PITA.

Dont do it. Phones run out. Get a secure keybox and a camera doorbell. Had this setup a few years and works well for a late teen boy stoatin in from nightclub in the early hours. No more forgotten / lost keys. though to be fair we have a porch and can double lock doors.

I got a few free gym passes through my wife being a member cos she likes the classes. The gym was really dirty, rarely cleaned. The pool was a decent size, but swimming clubs regularly took 3/4 of it. Spa and sauna doors were broken so they were out of order!! and the price…. £76 per month for the pleasure, more if you want a flexi membership with one month cancellation notice . I’m at another gym paying a quarter ( minus pool though) as I’m only interested in weights . It works for my wife and she thinks she gets great value from the classes.

I used to your for OE 10 years ago. Owner is a head case, obsessed with clinic outcomes and the surgeons, laser eye machines and follow up are excellent. My daughter got her eyes done a few years back and is delighted.

Im not an eye surgeon but heres some things i learnt

    * LASIK involved cutting a flap (usually with another laser), lifting the flap and zapping the cornea of the eye. This can be misshapen and have lumps and bumps. The treatment works out where the laser needs to reshape to imrpive vision

    * best done when your younger and prescription is stable

    * as you get older (mid- forties), your eye deteriote as the lens which usually stretches and flexes to create a sharp image on the retina at back of eye, stops stretching and flexing as much. This is where intraocular lenses come in. LASIK wont do anything useful for this.

    * cataracts is the lenses going cloudy, again usually age related and a lenses swap is whats needed.

Yes theres risks, but they on a sliding scale. Youll probably get dry eye, redness and mild discomfort and an excellent result. The doom mongers will say you’ll go blind (The Optical Express ruined my life woman basically trys to extort money from laser eye companies, she wasnt even treated there, it was a london practice from memory).

Speak to the surgeons, all the ones i met during my time there were excellent.

So I’ve done it twice now. The Inversnaid hike a bike bit is 2-3 hours of no riding, just accept it. The riding comes at the end of Loch Lomond to Beinglas and it’s tough, soul destroying and the best pint in the Drovers you’ll ever have.

The hike a bike section requires decent upper body strength to manoeuvre the bike between rock faces, lift it up the ladder and throw it into the lake if all becomes too much.

However, the rest of the route more than compensates for this very minor challenging bit.

Don’t over think it. Practice lifting your bike over things in your garden to train and throwing it over your shoulder and walking a bit. You’ll be fine.

For trying new (expensive and indulgent) things, six by nico, changes every 6 weeks but mega popular, but you might get a cancellation. More down to earth, best pizzas, Paesano pizzas, west end and city centre. Steak and cocktails, Alstons in Central Station. All a bit more towards the expensive end but your on holiday!

not sure about the other watches but i got the fenix 6 pro when discounted on amazon and paid in 5 0% installments. Amazing watch, more features than you can use, yes trailforks works, and komoot. has music, maps, garmin pay, heart rate, pulse ox. im still finding stuff 6 months later. Also despite it being a big watch, it doesnt feel it. Great battery as well. If you get a good discount, well worth it.

Before you bounce down to the branch livid, remember it’s not the fault of the staff in bank on the counter/greeting you. So count to ten first.

Some guy came into my young daughters branch livid because he couldn’t work the app and she was his teller. She tried to help but think he just wanted to rage at someone. Thankfully her managers stepped in and dealt with him but not before he shouted and screamed at her.

She was holding back tears later that night when she told me (she quite shy and timid and obviously scared)

Hope you get the house issue sorted. (Or have a livid dad hunt you down if you rage at the staff)

Just an update on this. Ultrasound found a clot behind my knee above the calf so still in the smaller veins which means the clot is smaller.

Likely cause is covid as they are seeing this ‘frequently’. I’ve been put on a 6 month course of apixiban, which is a newer version of warfarin and doesn’t need as much monitoring.

Speaking to the doctor the risk of an injury from mountain biking and increasing complications with head trauma or bleeding out meant this is not worth it for me.

So we spoke about general cycling but the advice is a grey area. There’s no guidance. Government website is a brisk walk is sufficient, but surely if I keep heart rate down and don’t overexert I ‘should’ be ok? Don’t think the doc wanted to commit to anything more than the government advice.

So physically I now feel fine, pulse ox back up at 96/97, haven’t had fatigue recently (but only walking the dog for now) and other symptoms gone apart from leg can get sore if stationary, or if I move too much!

I’ve fortunately never had to deal with a long term impact to my fitness and the thought of only walking for 6 months fills me with dread at what shape and mindset I will be in .

Been through the same with my daugthers (now 19 and 22). They go out with friends at the weekend, get part time jobs, boyfriends. Afraid dads just get pushed down the list. However popping over to take them for a milkshake / burger etc is worth the hours + drive, even if your only together a short time. Im always at the end of phone / video call for them and chat daily on our wee whatsapp group so i can keep up with the small things that you miss when not living with them. Always try and make a big deal of birthdays, graduations etc and im the one they turn to first for help with ‘stuff’ like cars, decorating etc. So the relationship changes but as long as they know your always there for them it works.

I’ve used it twice now. Last one was with Evans. Found the bike I wanted, applied for the voucher and the day I went to buy it, there was 10% off. Now you need to spend the whole voucher so the guy scratched his head and then said, go and buy stuff up to the value of the voucher.

You normally get a note showing 12 monthly payments, however to extend it for another three years I found you had to pay a 13th month payment of roughly the same amount (think its 7% of market value).

I used it to commute for two years, now it’s my zwift bike.

It’s great. We’ve got a Big drafty house and we’ve saved a couple hundred over the 2 years we’ve had it, plus no more cold house complaints. Paid for itself financially and also happy kids/wife, though we use manual mode.

All slim TVs now struggle with sound as there’s no physical depth for decent sized speakers. 4K picture is only 4K when there’s a 4K source. So I think you’ll be fine with it and invest any savings in a speaker system.

i tried to move the flight, yes the £29.99 change fee has been removed, however the return leg was £800+ for the flight. I made a new booking on the same flight for £29!

Ive requested a cancellation several times via email and twitter but no response yet. I cant see a cancellation button.

As above, make sure survey was for 2.4 and 5 GHz frequencies. Assume youve looked into non-ovelapping channels? Any machinery running in the 2.4Ghz spectrum? Are the AP’s covered or blocked? Was the survey done in real world conditions with machinary on etc?

Such a shame, my daughters thought she was stunning and had everything going for her. Not quite a role model for them but a definition of success. From what i read of her court case the CPS went against the boyfriends wishes and proceeded with the case.

Is this common if the victim doesnt want to prosecute the CPS proceed anyway? Maybe he knew she was struggling? Clearly had a huge affect on her. Add in the tacky tabloid ‘sell a story at any cost’ mentality and thats a huge burden to bear.

I think a number of organistations / people should be held accountable, including Police, CPS, Tabloids, ITV, social media trolls!

    Poor girl, RIP

after years of cycling with bad technique, failing to wheelie and jump, i invested in a skills course. Having some analyse your bike setup, positioning, technique etc is really helpful. Changed how i brake, corner and during lunch we practiced wheelies for fun. Basically dropped into easier gear, practised jumping off the back, then covering brake and bringing wheel down, then covering brake and finding balance. 30 mins over lunch and i felt i could do it and now practice when i can. Starting to get better now i know the technique. coaching = best upgrade ever! Im 45 and did the coaching last year.
