Awesome – I really recommend doing it.

Its a pain to get to the top – some riding, a lot of hike-a-bike. However the descent from the top is one of the best I know. We usually go straight up and down from/to the carpark on the North side, I’ve never descended on the steeper south side into Wiston.

    Hey

I come from Nemphlar – a village not too far away. For about the past five years me and two friends have ridden Tinto on boxing day to blow away the Christmas cobwebs. It takes a little over an hour to walk/hike-a-bike up then 15mins back down to the carpark and is awesome fun. I’ve never descended on the other side as we’ve had to get back to the car.

From Lanark train station your best bet is just to cycle out.

Personally I love my iphone 4. Bought it for £300 off eBay and got a £15/month contract on Orange with everything I need.

Really, really excellent piece of kit.

Thanks for the advice guys – I expected as much. I think I’m going to stick to something lower down to avoid having to scrap the weekend and save it for later in the year.

Has no one requested photos yet?

This thread is pointless without photos.

I think its key that its near a pub so we have somewhere to go and chill out/eat at night. We have a car but Sherpa bus would be fine. Finally needs to have good showers.

Thats about it in a nutshell. Thanks for all the help so far.

Yup – the facilities look good but google says its expensive as hell. Still a possibility though, thanks for recommending it.

I think we’re probably going to do the Llanberis route but hopefully the more interesting Pyg Track

Cool – thanks for all the suggestions guys.

I just checked out the Mountain bike scotland “the highlands” guide however its out of stock on Amazon.

It would appear that the author is preparing an updated version – no idea when it will be released though. See here for more detail.

    @ Stoner. Ha!

Thanks for all the suggestions – I’m going to have a play about with them during lunch.

I want to do the South Downs Way this/next weekend potentially but I’m not up for treking down there to get soaked through.

Thanks for all the input guys. Eventually identified it as an M6 bolt and found cheap sellers on Ebay.

    Update:

Scrap that request. Turns out if you update your newsletter/account preferences they send you a new one.

    Useful to know.

    Rumbled.

It’s great, very very sunny at the moment. Robert and St-eve are visiting this weekend. I’m very excited, don’t know what were going to do yet but I’m sure we’ll have fun!

I’d rather pay more for my flight so that I’m treated like a human rather than livestock.

But yes I agree with your comment about the baggage handlers. Lucky me.
