And I’d take the rod out of my ass to beat you with, layabout

Depends what you mean by “sitting” – I quite often lean/sit against the wing of a car if I stop to chat to someone in the street; I’ve never considered sitting squarely in the centre of the bonnet though! I just do it out of habit I suppose, bit like leaning against a wall/lamp post/sign post etc.

Are you old, infirm, unstable on your feet? I’m curious why you couldn’t just stand ?

It’s a simple case of respect. Clearly there’s quite a few on here who lack it

Are you confusing “I don’t mind if someone’s sitting on my car” with “I’m happy to sit on yours”?

You clearly can’t read either. I just said I wouldn’t do it

Wouldn’t do it, and would be annoyed if someone did it to my car. It’s a simple case of respect. Clearly there’s quite a few on here who lack it

Shures are E2c I think? A good 6 years old anyway. Cost around 50 quid I think, not looking to spend anymore

X1 chainset. 32T absolute black ring. They say it improves the chain line by 1mm over the sram ring. But it’s rubbing the inner face when the chains on the top of the cassette

First ride without, and dropped chain on a rough descent. Will see if it happens again. Guess I could grind down the backing plate of the guide to move it inward.

suppose i could always grind a little off the backing plate mounts if I find I’m dropping the chain without…

its off. i needed it to go closer to the frame, not further out, so shimming wouldn’t have worked anyway

That’s the other option – I was more curious how you do it then anything else!

thats a lot of homemade coke bottle inflators!

totally takes the fun out of the heath robinson ‘will it blow up in my face’ approach too

Where are people getting the taps from? I tried a plastic fuel tap, but the air pressure blew it apart!

Given up on dry lube, not found one that lasts more than a few hours riding, before the chain sounds dry

Haven’t used tubes for years, and don’t ever plan on doing. The light bicycle ones do look great VFM – not sure which I’d go for though. The lightest 650b option is still marginally wider than my SRAM roam wheels, so probably those? What are most people buying from them?

Well my thinking is that they will take a whack without bending. Granted there’s a chance they could crack, but it’s less of a concern for some reason :)

biggest ring, to biggest ring, plus 2 links – i wouldn’t worry about chain growth, never caused me problems

Got a board and skated the local bowl and ramps – then got out of the habit again. Need to start up. There’s loads of middle aged shredders, and a forum with the same name

My canyon came with a 34. Nothing’s beaten me yet, but I’ve just got a 32 to use the cassette more evenly. I was slightly aprenhensive, moving from 3×9, there’s no way I’d move back

2015 7EX – I’m a smidge under 6ft, with 33″ inside leg. The online size guide put me right between sizes, but I stuck with gut instinct and went large. Glad I did too!

Not really a problem, is it? Getting wound up about a few scratches is all a bit odd if you ask me. I mean they’re still better than cheap steels from Halfords, aren’t they?
    Some people.

It’s not a problem, but it’s damn annoying.

If im out for a ride, Im not on my phone or working or whatever.
Usually I’ll turn strava on and the phone stays in my camelbak for the rest of the ride.
If I hear a message or call I’ll check it when I next stop, maybe. I might take the odd photo but thats it.
I love my technology, but Im not going to let it rule me or disrupt my riding.

    this

stuffed in a sock in my camelbak

I did a DAS course and bought a brand new ZX6R as it when the new model was launched, and they knocked 2 grand off the the old one. I had it 6 years, did several track days and other than dropping it on the drive pushing it into the garage, it was fine. Was does a lot, does a little if you are responsible
