I’d ride them without any worry. Stuffed my rsp Carbon bars on a rock – unless you’re a good few mm’s in, and there are Sharp edges I wouldn’t worry. But that’s me

Rear triangle snapped on the brake mount of my 7 year old fuel ex 7. Trek replaced it with an ex9 rear end to keep it silver, the updated fancy rocker plates and all new bushes/bearings.

3x 17287 and 1 6903. that replaces all the bearings in the hub and free hub. But i suspect you’ll find only the outer driveside needs doing. i’ll re use the old ones next time around.

and yes, I’ve fitted the Hope Pawls and springs. I snipped a smidgen off the length of the spring to match the SRAM ones. the profile of the pawl is a fraction different, but almost identical. rode 20 miles on sunday and it didn’t skip a beat.

just done my rear hub bearings. I used kinetic bearings on eBay.

as far as i know, its SRAM only for the front. they’re a weird size. As for the rear – the bearing numbers are wrong. don’t order 63803, they won’t fit. you need 17287. x3 and 6903 x1

there are better bearings available – but i didn’t want to pay that much for one bearing.

on pulling mine apart, it was only the outer drive side bearing that was knackered. the other were all fine.

if you’re pulling apart, you might want to get a set of Hope Pro 3 pawls and springs, to upgrade the free hub. fit and work perfectly

thread resurrection. came across this whilst servicing my ROAM 30 rear hub. Bought a set of the Hope Pro 3 pawls and springs. The Pawls are almost identical. the springs were a tiny bit longer, so i snipped off a fraction. Installed and ridden. work perfectly.

I’ve just run a half marathon. last one i did was 12 years ago. I don’t run at all normally. I have a pretty good base level of fitness. I just started with about 3 miles, and ramped it up each week. Ran 3 times a week at most. One of those was a bit of speed work, sprinting every fifth minute. longer run on saturday morning. I tried following a half marathon plan off the web, but found it too demanding time-wise. 6 runs a week was too much.

Finished in 1:30:27, which i was pretty happy with

    good luck!

called craig at kinetic bearings – apparently SRAM used the seal from 63803 on the 17287RS bearing. its the 17x28x7, not the 17x26x7 as marked. ijeets
