most of my rides are around 2500ft of ascent overall. I’ve got a 32T oval and never found myself wanting for lower. why not consider a 30T oval if you like to spin. Id imagine a 28T would be bloody miserable from losing the bigger ratios

Without knowing the full story, would a set of orthotics not help keep your knee in alignment ?

brakes are great imo. but then I’ve never had a problem with SRAM/Avid of old. the wheels seem pretty tough. put a few dings in mine, and had to change the bearings in the back wheel. the number on the bearing doesn’t match what you need to order for replacement either )plenty of other threads about this) easy to swap them though. 30’s only come with 2 pawls and springs – SRAM won’t sell you them separately. Hope Pro 3 ones will fit and doubles the pick up.

its anodised. much tougher than the painted ones. I use the muc off spray from aldi to give it a nice sheen after washing. looks great still

just replaced the two front tyres on my leon FR – 6000 miles. as has been said, start stop driving and little motorway miles kills the mileage you can get to of tyres. (that, and driving style of course)

the orbea looked to be a good option. the hoy 26 is another good option…

I live in Cheshire, so most of my riding errs towards flat and fast, hence the question

you’re living in the wrong part of cheshire then :)

got a can of the all weather lube to try out. tried all manner of dry lubes and none of them last more than a couple of hours when riding. the wet lube is ok, but messy.

My parents took rent off me, can’t remember how much. I thought it was fair. When i came to buying a house, my mum told me they had saved all the money id been paying, and gave me it back towards the deposit. I’ll be doing this with mine.

they need to stop trying to shoehorn new presenters into the old roles. new presenters, new format, new studio.

jackets as above, although £100 is still way too expensive for something you can rip in an off. With places like aldi chucking out reasonable soft shells and waterproofs, they’re almost a disposable item now. never buy an expensive chain – would rather fit a cheaper one more often. brake pads are always bought from one of the usual suspects too

yes, my wife has one. Was on the waiting list for a long time before getting one. it had been unworked for a long time, and took the best part of a year to clear and get it to a state of being able to grow on. As already said, i ride, she potters at the allotment. But its great having fresh homegrown fruit and veg. We already have more strawberries than we can eat/jam/use.

as for clearing – no easy route, just digging and pulling he crap out over a period of time. i wouldn’t use well. Glysophate – and there’s a chance it will be banned in the very near future anyway

i think it would be better if they dropped all the old and frankly tired catchphrases, ‘some say….’ be new presenters, bring their own personalities, indent try to be clones of the old guard. watchable, but i record it so i can skip the shit.

£280 quid sounds extortionate. A DSG box service on a VAG car is only about £170, and thats with their overpriced liquid gold oil

Also – ask if the procedure is the No scalpel, rather than the traditional way.,only one mcidion, in the middle, rather than a cut each side. It’s more of a puncture. Faster healing time. Some won’t even stitch it

had it done in November. The thought of it is worse than the process. GP who did it was excellent and put me at ease. 2 injections, one in each tube. 1st one is uncomfortable. second ones less so, as the area is largely numb. Sore when it wears off. 1st two days were uncomfortable. buy some tight briefs to minimise movement. was back on the bike after 2 weeks, all fine. wish id done it sooner.
