Update for those that are in the same boat. Bought him a Hoy Bonaly 24. Really pleased with it. Really we’ll put together package. Can’t keep him off it!

Well karma looked after me this afternoon. Went to Evans at the Trafford centre to pick up a hoy bonaly 24 for my sons birthday. Took the parcel shelf out in the car park to slot the bike in, and promptly drive off without it. Didn’t even realise Til we got got home 40 mins later. Called the shop and explained. Guy went out to the carpark. Not only was it still there, but it hadn’t been driven over either!

    Thanks karma :)

Only riders who’ve snubbed a ‘morning’ have been roadies, and that’s only the odd one. I always check to see if anyone needs a hand. It’s no fun having a 15 mile walk home

by the time 4k broadcasts are numerous the technology will be cheap, and the next greatest thing will be out. Currently (well, the last time i looked into it) Netflix have 1 ‘box set’ in 4k to watch and no one else is broadcasting in 4k. waste of your money atm

Will have a look at the carrera hybrid. That modded blast looks good, but I imagine you’ve spent a few bob to get it to that weight. Cannot understand why manufacturers put triple chainsets on?!

As for the cost, well the justification is down to the missus. I’d buy the commencal 24″ DH Bike :)

The team looks great, and quite a bit lighter too. But don’t really want to spend nearly 400 quid.

Unfortunately Cheshire is a wasteland as far as MTBing is concerned. However it has the benefit of being next to some excellent MTBing areas like N Wales and the Peak. I live in Chester which is only 25 mins from Llandegla and the Clwydians and an hour from the Marin and Penmachno trails.

Cheshire has some good road riding though.

award for most ill informed quote goes to!

macclesfield has plenty of access to hills thanks

i was a huge fan of all the previous 24’s, but I’m struggling to be hooked by this one :(

id never return to tubes – used to pinch flat nearly every ride, despite running high pressures. switched to tubeless, and a couple of flats in 3 years. one was a side wall rip, the other i just pumped up and carried on.

here’s 2 completely different photos, taken by 2 different people of different subject matter, on different days.

    perfect comparison.

Colleague was followed home and had his taken from his garage. It was chained to the wall. They chipped the brick out. Replacement is kept in the house. They’ve been back since to look for the replacement

Yes brant, it was mate. I’m not expecting them to bend over backwards, anything will be favourable. I’ve ridden it hard for 6 years, so I’ve had my money’s worth

Leave in the garage week to week, with dregs of high5 in. Remember just before I’m going out the next time. Chuck boiling water through it. Been fine. Maybe I just have a cast iron stomach

neither of my 2 boys are good at bedtime. eldest is 8 this year, and still gives us a headache each night. calls all the time with excuses as to why he can’t sleep. if you ignore him, he just gets louder and louder and wakes his 2 year brother up. the two year old wakes up at least twice every night and shouts for me. if you ignore him he wakes his older brother up

    happy days

yeah, sloppy when wet. but the gully is getting deeper and deeper on the pym chair side, makes it hard to climb without a bazillion pedal strikes :)

but as above, if you want clear runs without raised eyebrows, you need to be out of the goyt by 10.

technically its shooters clough from just over 2 mins in. usually ride that the opposite way, as the single track from the top of pym chair is awesome

what net gear router is it? have you run it stood upright or flat? Ive had 2 netgear routers pack up wired. its a well known issue that they get too hot and the board gives up. it still works wirelessly fine
