What do mean over tightened axle?? Why would that cause a problem? Sorry I’m learning slowly about mechanics

over tightening can put too much load on the bearings causing them to fail/wear prematurely. if you look at the bumph that come with the wheels they bearly need to be more than pinch tight.

Just been told that the bearings are shot so need new ones, I’m really disappointed with mavic.

Are they doing them under warranty?

was also to by LBS that mavic come with a 2 year warranty where bearings are concerned…

M1llhouse , what’s it like in 150mm mode, my revs are dual position 120-150mm .

I really likes it. but rapidly came to the conclusion that i “needed” a bigger bike as it became a bit unbalanced (front was controlled lovely but rear became a bit wayward getting outside of it’s {my} comfort zone) so bought a 2013 spicy 516.

ran mine with 120/150 talas without issue. In fact I really likes the way it slackened it…

the push up the llanberis path, where does that start from?
is 2.5 hours a quick time for getting up? or is longer a more reasonable estimation?
and how long was the descent riding rangers path? and the Llanberis path?

Well as a “foreigner” (dorsetlander) and a crash “victim” (2 wrists, 1collarbone) of swinley I really liked it before but agree with those above about the blue being better than the red but will always have a special place in my heart for deerstalker/babymaker/labyrinth.

Actually managed to take both bikes (spicy and c456) round and although both have their place the HT took a bit of relearning how to ride one again but boy was it fun once I’d found:
A) my legs
B) some flow
C) remembering how pumping a HT and FS differ slightly

what time of day?

before 8? 30ish mins if you time the ferry right. getting progressively longer the later in the day it gets and if it’s sunny or not.

I be more worried about it self combusting than a cracked fascia. You checked to see if its on the recall register?

Got 2 pairs. Both same size, one pair fit lovely, one not so much.

Had it for 5 months now, with a few niggles (shadow+ rear mech crapped itself, forks developed a leak that had to be returned to mojo) but still very impressed. Climbs very well, descends better and eggs you on to do bigger sillier stuff all the time.

Apparently, Minimum installation height for an overhead cable over a commercial property = 5.9m
Our property = 5.6m so they couldn’t install at the correct height, hence the abort.
