I use my Genesis Day One for what you describe… Drag up a Cat 4 Climb from the TdF when it was down here – 42×18 gears

V brakes, Rack mounts, steel & 35c tyres

Are the results up anywhere yet?

Overtaking was good. Lots of “when you’re ready” rather than tyre banging or barging.

I only got someone try to squeeze past and just rode into my bars thoughtfully. Still way better than “normal” racing

Still not found any pics of me, but I had a great time out and enjoyed the atmosphere.

First race since a national championship in ’98

I think I might suffer a fair bit. Overtaking seems different to what I remember in the good old days

Singapore get a good vote from me. Layovers are either short enough to get straight onto the next plane, or get a nights sleep if you prefer.

Cheapest too for the dates I’ve booked up for my next trip

I seem to remember soaking (in water) foam grips to slide them on. Probably need to top up the water as they’ll be wrung dry when you grip them

Bad luck on losing the phone, were all the contacts stored on Gmail?

    Just a thought

‘Back in the day’ when I used to do testing the P901/10 was the quick course on the south coast

IIRC it was 4miles ‘up’ over a flyover then 6 miles of gentle downhill

All on a dual carriageway getting a nice tow from everything. About 60s quicker than a normal course.

When I got my first pair of clip on’s ~ 1995 it improved my times by about 10s/mile

Sod doing it again now though :p

No chance on the current octavia, unless you’re happy pushing the passenger seat right forward and getting tyre prints everywhere

I just drop a wheel/wheels out, since it’s a ten second job and it’s fine

With the seat pin out a 26er fits in the boot this way, but no chance with my FS or 29er

Here’s a gpx download from a couple of weeks ago there

That said, get a ride in at QECP, it’s a lot better than it used to be since the guys have been building a lot of new trails up there

Verderers Trail is signed well – you’ll do that at least twice. Worth the whole ride round just to do the cracking rolling descent again.

The ‘red’ route wasn’t all that challenging, and felt fairly flat.

Didn’t get the chance to run any of the DH trails, but they shouldn’t be hard to find!

OK so I left the MTB at home

Somewhere in QECP midway on my SDW ride on the SS crosser

Parcel2go is fine, they offer increased insurance etc to cover.

Just make sure you don’t choose the Yodel option (also had bad experiences)

There’s a few of us that go out at 7pm on Friday’s at QECP which isn’t too far from you.

Start off at the trails built there & then head off to wherever it takes us

My Giant TCR is a M, and I’m a lanky 6 footer. The L is going to be too big for you (being a micro)

A shorter stem will help bring the bars in a bit, shouldn’t fuss the steering too much either.

What about tilting the bars back a little? So you can ride on the hoods a little closer back to your chest?

    Would a bike fit help?

    History

Apparently we don’t need them… Clearly Mr Shimano hasn’t ridden in the UK to see that mud still gloops up & sticks in my cassette!

That’s the most gnarr that’s marked out yes :)

There’s a combination of posts, or signs but all easily followed in the dark (as I did on Friday)

Quite a lot has changed since two years ago

Orange Route is plotted here – http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=1327634

Lots more singletrack where once there was fire road, and a new section added too.

Just back from QECP, I’d be up for a mid week ride around there (especially now I’ve got lights)
