    More importantly…

Will there be burgers from Bowtells?

If you can P*** you can paint…

We use a rope access firm at work, who do rigging, paint, NDT – I’m trying to think what else (other than access) you’d want to do from a rope rather than staging

I saw the thread title & thought MX5! You’ll love it… but hate the short gearing!

Rip the sun visors off, they’re too low and useless & just pop out

As above, ditch the ‘hoops’ as that’s your new luggage space!

    I miss mine

There’s nice cycleways along the coast from Les Sables to La Tranche & onwards – plenty of places to stop for ice creams on the way…

It’s particularly nice around Jard sur Mer & nice through the woody bits from Le Rocher – Les Conches has the best big waves for surfing / bodyboarding

Flat as anything for ‘interesting’ riding though :(

When are you riding at the weekend?

My pass is for Saturday… Happy to show people around

T5 is ace, but I prefer Virgin

Miles better than AA or other domestics

My old classic policy for my MX5 cost £93/yr for a limited mileage policy

    Might be worth looking into

As per most Shimano hubs – fine once actually greased

That said, this quote tickled me from your link

These 29″ wheels use angular contact bearings which are designed to cradle the balls

Just wasn’t sure what the author was doing with the wheels

I have a joint account with my wife. Have done for about seven years.

I guess it’s different as I’m the sole earner, so one of us would go hungry

As long as I can pretty much always buy what I want, when I want & get kept in bikes then I’m happy

I’ve had various cards declined in France – so take my Halifax Clarity Credit Card – http://www.halifax.co.uk/creditcards/low-rate-no-fee/clarity-card/ for most purchases & pay it off upon return so it’s truly zero fee. x/rates are good too

As a backup, I have my regular debit card, and a Travelex card with a couple of hundred Euro’s loaded

Read the small print… I’ve a friend looking at this – it’s interest rate was linked to RPI+1.75% for the ‘free’ deposit

Worked out as a lot more money, which they’d been told was 0%

Just checking. I cursed mine for a year until I realised it moved ;)

Do some man maths that demonstrates wear & tear & some n+1 logic

It doesn’t need to add up, but just use lots of numbers to justify

Well I bought one today, so I’m looking forward to swapping over my 29er bits to an Inbred :)

It was a toss up between that & a high latitude, but to be honest, the On One was 1/2 the price, and orange

I can only imagine the feeling after a year off – I feel grumpy after a month or two when I’ve had an off & broken something

Well done, especially the 1000 miles on a turbo

I’ve got them on my thrown together single speed – put them on after I mullered my hand late last year

They’re so comfortable. I’ve got them right way up with a really short stem otherwise I’m stretched out

I ended up using safari as there is a bug apparently

Show them photos of Govan, and save them the drive – it’s an easy enough drive, just unexciting when they get there

About 18 yrs ago I was his age, went camping in the woods with mates

I just walked into the offy and bought 72 cans of fosters for all of us

All I remember now is bringing most of them home again after sleeping really well!

Do you let him have any at home normally?

For collection only items that I’ve bought silly cheap (insinkernator for £0.99 rings a bell) I round it up to something less embarrassing – still win win

Saw these at the bike show, and really like the look of them

Given the weighty (sort of) frame…. What’s the weight of them complete? Geared rather than Alfine probably

I’ve got two Merida’s – they look very similar to both brands mentioned above…

Along with Giant, there aren’t many factories building frames (out of aluminium)

I had to say goodbye to my 12 yr old ‘Fred’ last month after he had a goofball sized tumour in/on his spine at the injection site (ironically for the anti cancer drugs)

Worst and hardest choice ever to take him for his final trip. I totally failed to MTFU.

Sadly you’ll know when it’s right, and the vets are sensible with their advice I found – yes surgery was an option, but you’re delaying an inevitable fate, while causing more discomfort :(

Since you know where he lives, take him a present of some paint stripper or brake fluid. Leave it on the roof of the car though

    Then report it

    Less likely to pinch flat

Otherwise for commuting they’re be a PITA over clinchers every time.

The fact there are people that make a living from just doing tub repairs suggests how annoying it would be
