Do a bit of internet stalking

I have two yanks with the same name, who keep giving out my gmail address – I’ve stalked them well enough to get in contact after they had important stuff sent to me (mortgage applications, invoices, cell phone bills etc)

Seemed like the right thing to do, and creeped them out too

    £800/m was for TCN’s

£800/day lines up with discussions over non TCN salaries (as well as housing allowance, car, schooling)

Can’t say I’m not tempted – at some point.

Good point about the NEX, I’ll get onto my contact here who should be able to help me out.

I keep getting told I should go to Diggers… for the “beer” pretty sure I’ll skip that still

    Sick, but cheap and quick

I’m not offended – I don’t turn round lustfully and look back at it!

    Sounds like my latest purchase

SEAT Altea Freetrack. 2.0tfsi from a golf gti with 200bhp remapped to 250. 4wd and many toys

Ugly but amusingly quick for a bus

    Well I’m here

ALl good advice received ^^^ so thanks for that.

It’s bloody hot mind you. Driving to work today at 8ish was 43C in my car. AC is belting out trying to cool the office to 18C though in an attempt to get down to something sensible.

I was out a fair bit yesterday, in the non cooled workshops, where the temperature was >55C – I had to leave after about 15 mins despite standing in front of a fan as the hot air was making it hard to breath. No idea how the workers actually survive.

I did some asking about regarding pay & conditions… Wasn’t too bad (~£800/month, food & accomodation paid for) which given you don’t need to spend anything else as a TPN wasn’t bad. Massive social gap between the expats & the TPN & Bahraini

Hotel is good, and went to a Ramadan ‘breaking of the fast’ buffet last night. Eid should be interesting.

    What tyres for a sandstorm?

Does she want to apply for credit or something? Normally a council tax bill is a nice accepted proof of address

    Thanks for the tips guys.

Booked my flights, car & waiting on the hotel – I’ve been recommended the K Hotel, but I think it’s a bit full with Eid from this weekend. Good old Crowne Plaza it will be then.

Good advice all round, I’ll avoid the hookers though.

Sadly I’ll probably be billy no mates, and yes dave_rudabar – dockyard work, so I might be off to Dubai and a couple of other places to visit theirs

I’ll get some travel booked up tomorrow and start figuring out what to do

At least the car hire is cheap and unleaded is 0.15/l so I’ll take a jerry can to bring home

My inbred has rack mounts – but I’m pretty sure it fouled the disc calliper so I changed the rack for the type that mounts on the QR axle

I can do it for you. I’ll pick up a box and packing material from Velocity in Cosham

    What kind of bike?

Mine takes a 32Gb, and I was lazy & bought it from Argos for £17 or so.

Decided not to look on ebay to see how cheaply it could have been bought!§

I work in Portsmouth, though the nice council made us our own exit off the M275 last year so that was nice. The traffic isn’t bad, just get to work at a sensible hour and not 9am if you’re driving.

Lived in Horndean / Clanfield now for 6yrs (and 21yrs originally with a break for a bit).

Love the hills & sea, and don’t go onto the island unless it’s for work, the ferry, gun wharf before 12

£400k would buy you a new build 4 bed up in the villages, or any number of nice places in fact.

To confirm. Just picked up the as30 model for £99. 1/2 price 32gb card tok

It comes with a sticky mount apparently… PLenty of options on eBay.

I’m off to Argos to collect mine on the way home

    I’ve got one.

Can’t use it anymore as I can’t find a mount for the 5s now they’re out of production

Dodgey “for sale” opportunity if you wanted 🙂 it’s just sat in my garage

I thought I’d offer it up here…. I’m off to BPW with another local riding buddy on the 6th July

We’ve got uplift booked, and the ‘third’ person can’t make it now.

They’ve not paid me for the ticket, so if anyone here wants to come with us (there’s room in the car for another person & bike leaving from Clanfield / Horndean area) and wants to give me £30 you’d be more than welcome!

Yup. Got it valued by a couple of estate agents. Picked who we wanted and told the neighbours not to be surprised if they saw a board go up

30mins later both sides gave us a couple of names of friends or friends of friends who missed out when we bought it

If you can keep it amicable with the buyers it’s ok. Worth it to save a few grand on a mini driving burton shirt wearing toss piece walking people round your house

Are they buying the bikes from a parallel / grey import?

Got up and went out early doors for a ride up on Butser & QECP, back home & held hands and walked all the way round Marwell Zoo with my little girl

Now curled up watching Dispicable Me

Make sure you ask for a basinette seat.

That’s what we did for taking our daughter to NZ at the same age

I’m glad we skipped doing it this year though!

I remember reading a bit about the Gina Ford method.

No way were we organised enough to schedule nap and food and everything else. Winged it.

Interesting timing of this thread, I read it at about 8am this morning and my 2.5yr old decided about 30 mins later she wanted a ‘wee on toilet’ followed by ‘poo on toilet’ for the first time.

So she now has 14 stars on a quickly knocked up chart to ‘celebrate’ her successes. Bit nervous about letting her run too free… The house is only a week old.

I’ll take a pootle over to Head Down on Sunday to watch the DH race.

I’d love to do more, but I’m nursing a 14″ (and growing) bruise on my abdomen courtesy of the final descent at QE!

At least I’ll get three £5 vouchers then, add that to my ‘investment’ of about £16 from my soon to be refunded paypal balance and I’ll get some stuff for cheaps

Conditions up there are cracking – just run a lap of the red trail after work & it’s nice & grippy out. It’s not dusty either
