On the plus side, last couple of times I was lucky enough to have this – I lost 1.5stone each time

You don’t, I remember bending a couple of pairs back in the day as the brace formed a nice fulcrum point

It could be worse…. you could have an IFS ‘solution’

Luckily, the firm I work for is investigating moving ERP systems…. I’ve actually got my fingers crossed for SAP (having used it before)

You clearly need another bike… But the bikes will be a bit too samey? Good plan, just improve the execution & get a HT, fatty or something

I used to be able to just open them in open office.

Good trick with google docs if it works!

I’ve got the same engine in out Golf GTi, and SEAT Altea. On a good run, 36mpg but work & back for 12 miles on the motorway is 30/32 depending on traffic.

You have to work hard to get it embarrassingly low on the road though

My old diesel vRS was about 50mpg for reference, but nowhere near as fun (but a lovely car inside & out)

When we talked with the developer it was the average of three quotes from the Estate Agents they had on panel.

The neighbours that did do that got offered market value, so maybe better than haggling with the public.

No discount on the house or stamp duty paid though if you part ex (which we got with HTB) with these builders

You’ll get part ex, or Help to Buy but not both (I think it’s in the rules)

I see it as a deferred, and cheap 20% mortgage so was happy to play along. Your mortgage offer will be based upon the full value / affordability anyway, so it’s not like it’s based on forward wage increases etc

eBay dial just to the left of the yellow/black ‘drag chute’ pull cord is pretty forward thinking

Just tell your employer to get you a hire car? (or bus/train/taxi)

It’d have to be a fair drive away to pay for itself at 45ppm

If Apple do a Black Friday sale, then this is going to be an expensive holiday next weekend

Keyboard mapping won’t bother me, my MBP already has the @ symbol in the “wrong” place for the UK keyboards, so it must be just hunting out the £ symbol on a US one

    I’ve a few (12 I think) pairs of these.

I kick about in them at home, ride in them etc

They don’t like being tumble dried too long though, tend to shrink quickly.

Tell you later this week when I get round to it.

Suspect it won’t stay as the forks are pretty short compared to those that it will replace, so it’ll make the HA a bit steep

On the other hand, loving my fully fat bike in the mud/roots/chalk at the moment

Pimpmyride – stock 26×4 in the back that the charge came with, and a 26×2.7 DH tube in the front, which I carry for puncture repairs

    Blows up easily with either

    Thanks for the tips guys

It’s not the hefty cheapness I was hoping for! As suggested, I might just hit the local LBS, Bell helmets seem a lot cheaper over there.

Jeans & trainers & Oakley’s well up on the usual list of things to acquire… As well as seeing what Black Friday panic buying can deliver

Over 20+ yrs, a fair few Level 1’s, an average of a Level 2 every 18 months or so (overdue)

And no Level 3’s – now frantically scrapping around looking for wood to touch (fnar)

    On 42×18 18mph=100rpm..

No wonder I felt knackered riding that to work 🙂

I’d be using a nice fat chain. 7 speed if cheap 3/32″

I used to have a Genesis Day One that fulfilled these needs

It came with 42x18T, which was fine for a decent pedally top end but at my ‘comfortable’ rpm it was happy to run along at 18mph or so… I guess 80rpm for that?

Was more than happy with that off road as well, some hills were a slog but you can get out of the saddle for those.
