Dynatech 725Ti, with flex built in everywhere… frame, stem, steerer. I think 105 8 Speed, but still 1995/96

I’m lusting over some very nice frames now

Spa Cycles have some audaxy styles – and almost had me until I saw the downtube ‘braze on’ for cable stops or D/T shifters which will spoil the lines

CRC have a monster sale on some of their Ti frames though….

Sounds like at least three bikes justified there.

This thread is going to be expensive…. I’ve lusted after a proper Ti frame ever since I sold my old Dynatech back in 2001

I rode Swinley today, and forgot all about this thread

But went past his memorial on Red 25 today, caught it out of the corner of my eye & gave him a notional ‘doff as I remembered why/who

So… the bars are back to front, so braking is the wrong away round? And left shifter does the front etc?

How much are you using in a month?

Spent last night doing laps of centreparks with the boy and buggy. I’ll be lucky to make it through the day no chance of a ride.

So many euphemisms in one post. Bravo (and possible high 5)

I agree – almost too cheap

Jacket, Trousers (not always having to match jacket), Shirt. Tie optional. Not chinos or jeans.

    Decent Shoes (as always)

Phil40 – you’ll be fine. The worst is ‘out the back’, but if you’re local you can go find it :)

Last year stages 3 & 4 were red trail (plus a bit) albeit running a climb backwards.

I’ll be marshalling again, last year I was setting people off.

Even with a gentle rubber malleting? Should be a tolerance fit from memory

I have a weeride my little girl has just grown out of (really great, lots of fun), but did have a rack mounted one for when she was too little to really hold herself up (she went in that at seven months)

If you’re near Portsmouth, you’re welcome to try either / both (Weeride was going on eBay soon anyway ;) )

I don’t think I put her in the weeride until after her third birthday, due to timing more than anything

Most annoying on the day my wife approved n+1 – I’ve spent a couple of hours trawling their offer stock!

    When I was a boy….

42Tx21T was my bail out gear on my road bike.

Admittedly I only weighed 10 Stone and was all leg muscle

Now I can drag up most steep things with 34Tx28T because I’m older & 50% heavier

Dry the concrete with a space heater, then get a few cans of garage floor paint & seal it in

Cheap stuff from B&Q will suffice after a sweep – then just pour 1/4 of a can at a time and roller it on

    What was the reason?

Sounds like it’s not coming back sadly

Cheers, ordered with a pair of shorts – to save on postage ;) The arm and leg warmers are cheap enough to use and lose at that price

    Shirley the answer is ‘yes’

And just get both (or use man maths to re-purpose an old frame into the singlespeed)

Cash in Lieu settlement, re-MOT the car, pocket money

Then the directors *might* be miffed their insurance has gone up, your missus gets a cash payment, your focus stays in the same state.

Hmm. New bike would be half cash, half some 0% deal most likely.

Man maths suggests that half the bike is already free, and the 0% means the other half is better than an interest rate, so that’s actually saving money!

MiniRRR number 2 on the way too…

Sounds like you’re owed a new dad present, how about a Bronson?

But presumably he or she would want a happy and relaxed dad?

Exactly, just ask at any time before birth. Silence is their acceptance.

You’re being shunned for working against nature with your “New bike or not new bike” question.

The answer is always “New Bike”, whatever the question.

Don’t worry, apart from all of the above – they also put my mortgage application in for £9k LESS than I asked them to. That was certainly fun in the few days between mortgage offer & exchanging.

About every 12 months. My wife just asks “it’s been a while since you last bought a new bike, hasn’t it?” – which I take as a green light.

    God I miss it.

1990 Eunos 1.6. Cheap coilovers, wide tyres, no cat or centre silencer & a ‘loud’ silencer

    It was awesome.

So when do we get blood pics of this motor?

Cattle Class on Singapore has done us proud the last three trips. Decent food included, and entertainment system is decent.

Pilots are a bit happy to flick on the seat belt light which gets on your tits a bit.

But the ‘best’ flight out we had was a 2-3hr transfer in Singapore, enough time to brush your teeth & a new T-Shirt. Basically got on the plane in London, took a sleeping tablet. Did the same again when taking off from Singapore & felt like I was on NZ time when we arrived totally rested.

If you have to stay longer, they have a decent hotel airport (not cheap) but quiet, and cool

    //off to look at flights

If Mark turns them back off, I’ll renew my P (which only expired on Tuesday…) and I promise not to wait three months to get a free gift :)

Motorbike bars (ebay searching) look right, but will need cutting down so much you’ll be in the rise

I’d just pick up a cheap stem and get it on a standard set

The dealer will just need the settlement figure from the finance company for the first car (x), he’ll value the first car (y), quote you for the new car (z)

    So you’ll need to pay…

    z-y+x

Normally on pcp, unless you got something that’s got exceptionally good residuals x=y

Can’t imagine there’s a risk assessment that would suggest lone working is OK if wading about in a river.

GTE if you’re driving is short enough trips… If it’s over the 35 mile charge, you’ll only be reimbursed at 1.4L mileage rates, which is naff all

GTD though… gets my vote… Infact I’m just changing jobs so I’m on the Arval site now to change from my Qashqai (which is also nice)

This thread shamed me into doing mine.

Looks horrendous now, but better than the 6″ I just lopped off the top.

Now if only it could just stop raining for a week, it might recover enough to let me mow again next weekend
