sorted… works like a treat just with a 10mm bolt up axle instead of a 10mm through axle…

I just got it off! I ended up going back to my old faithful Fine Adjustment Tool. Eg a hammer and a screwdriver on the back of the casette and a couple of sharp taps… Now all i have to do is get the axle out and put a new one in…

if you look on chain reaction cycles, you can get the 2 pot xts, for 50 quid i believe. ID go for them and use what ever rotors you have. The only brakes i prefer are the new style xt’s

Well, the fact that you have commented about how un fashionable they are, obviously means you are fashion conscious

no offence, but that sounds really boring. I’m guessing it wasnt though?

We’ve got alot of foxgloves, wild garlic, and my favourite, stinging Nettles here in the south east.

well, if its just 2 little dents, from where you hit something hard, which it sounds like it is. there wont be any problems with this at all. Ive done it on a number of occasions, as i’m sure many others have. And i can still use tubless on the rim etc.

well. depending what it looks like, you can straighten them with an adjustable spanner. Do one or both sides point into the middle of the rim now?

ive been to afan, rode the long route ( is that the skyline?) amd back on a horrible rainy, cold cant see more than 20 metres in front of you, wind blowing you backwards kind of day.. And my mate was on a Sx trail. I live just north of london…

So of course you can do it…

Yeah, well im back there tomorrow… Its funny really but the opportunity to take her picture just didnt seem to come up.

I was just unsure if this may be one of those ‘Serious breaches of Contract’ that it says i can get sacked for…

I know that would be a preety extreme case, and i dont intend to stalk her or anything of the type…

I havent ridden the cove, but a mate has a 16 inch chameleon, with pikes, and it is one of the best handling bikes i have ever ridden. I’d buy one tomorow if i had the money. but then ive heard alot of good things about the stiffee. plus it has a mildly amusing name…

    Hi Mr T.

That bastid light looks good, better than my Exposure race, before they went ‘turbo’. But yoour lights look quite simply amazing. I would love to buy one of them. I think that with a light of the quality it sounds liek yours are, alot of people will buy them.

I know that when i get back from holiday, in august, i would buy a light from you very happily, as i will be looking for a new one for the winter.

I think what im trying to get at, is your light looks f’ing ace compared to the ‘bastid’.

    Cool,

thanks for the advice – ton, I didnt mean to sound arsey! I was just wondering what you meant…

As for lifting up the wheel with my arms, i’m preety sure i dont do that… I dont have any trouble lifting the front up at all. My trouble is, once i have found the balancing point, keeping it there for more than a second or two. I’ll try the rucksack thing though tomorow…

And yeah, i am getting better, i spent about half an hour today riding round my street trying to manual between 2 old pepsi cans i found in the gutter… I’ll be back tomorow but may get some slightly nicer ‘targets to use…

So yeah, any advice on how i can keep my balance when i’m up?

Oh, and Tiogs white tigers. Appalling tyres.

on the wtb side of things, i had a pair of 2.5 dh tyres, I cant remember what they were called, but they were amazing in loose stuff, and not bad all round.

I agree with dez b about the micheling xc dry 2s. They are ok on the back, on a xc race bike, but i made the mistake of putting it on my 5 inch fs this weekend. All i can say is im glad that i can drift…

If you think you would be more comfortable wearing them, then do it.

I wear 661 D30 evo thingies. they are expensive, but well worth the money. I was out for 5 hours today, in the sun, and forgot i was wearing them till i fell off.

They Are well worth the money in my opinion, for xc use.

oh, and as for not being ‘hardcore ebouhg, Ive hurt myself seriously on the road, doing an xc race, etc. And yet, after years of dh’ing, and allways wearing full body armour, ive only had minor cuts, and serious bruises.

right, i did clean it, and it looked ok, but should i completely unscrew the bleed nipple, and clean it? I dont mind if the fluid in there comes out, as i want to completely replace it anyway…

    lyons

It doesnt nessecarily need replacing. It could be joined. You just need to know what youre doing. Just using terminal blocks and burying it n the wall really isnt a good way of doing it for instance.

Get a qualified electrician to come in an sort it out. He’ll tell you your options, after seeing the damage 1st hand. The fact you say ‘the live has only just been touched and has suffered not much damage’ says alot really.

also, i have a feeling your fuseboard is going to be quite out of date… The circuit really should have tripped/ blown after that.

I won’t tell you what you should do yourself, as you shouldnt do anything…

    And yes, Im qualified.

Surely doing 100 in 2 minutes is harder. I cant understand why you would want to do 100 in 1 minute.

ive found that letting all the air out, puttting some glue from a normal puncture repair kit on it, and leaving it to dry works perfectly. Presuming you have sealant in the tyres, that isnt quite sealing it…

it is the amps, but even though it runs at a high voltage, to reduce the amps (otherwise the cables would have tobe ridiculously thick) theres still a lot of current running through there.
