Been an Amazon delivery driver and it’s more than possible to do the Job properly, Amazon clearly state how they want you to deliver the parcels, only using drop boxes etc when it’s on the account, how to deal with IDs for alcohol, plastic bags for wet weather etc what most drivers seem to forget as soon as they start is the routes are planned to your previous drop rate to fill a days work, IF YOU RUN AROUND AND DROP AND RUN AND FINISH EARLY ALL YOU GET IS MORE DELIVERIES TO DO TOMORROW, when I worked there you where paid for a days work, not numbers of delivery’s made, yes it’s a long ass busy day but that’s the job, finding a place to pee was always my biggest problem, they clearly tell you to never ever, ever, ever, ever leave the engine running, still one guy I knew did it in Nottingham city centre and was surprised when the van got stolen and he was fired.

The guy who does ours is one who follows instructions and has been around for years at this point.

in short, report the drop and runners, maybe they will slow down and deliver as they have been trained to

    2021 Kenevo Expert here

Only bought one following pretty serious injury’s after being hit by a car.

I have grown to absolutely hate the thing, before purchasing mine in 2021 I had not been in a bike shop for a repair for at least 10 years, the electronics are simply not robust enough for all year riding, its had 2 TCUs 2 Batteries & 2 motors this year alone, I wash it exactly as shown in Specialised videos.

Final straw was motor failing in the Alps this year 6 months after being replaced. Currently 3 weeks into trying to only ride a mechanical bike and its going ok, 50 tooth cogs combined with small chainrings are amazing, might not be quick but can maintain and repair myself.

For my current Job I had a phone interview, yes phone, not teams, not skype, not zoom. I double checked and yes it was a phone interview.

    I still wore a suit!

Because that’s what you wear for an interview, I did rebel a bit and have short sleeves underneath the jacket

    All great tips, however

If you do not have British Cycling or equivalent insurance, stop reading this and sign up now!

It might get the costs of bike repairs for you, or as in my case it might mean you can keep a roof over your families head.

I was hit 100yards from my house on a normal estate road by someone just not looking, absolutely nothing I could of done, seriously get yourself covered

Ha you should try having a 28.5″ inside leg, you’re positively tall!

Ha you lanky so and so’s can jog on, 26” leg on a 32(ish) waist, I genuinely have to pay to have every pair of jeans/trousers/PJ bottoms I own altered 😂

In answer to OP I have tried all sorts (mountain warehouse stuff comes closest) but your current arrangement of shorts over leggings is the best for me

Rang them up for some reassurance and they confirmed my consultant has had to request the CT scan. They fully explained they have spaced seating, plenty of hand sanitiser, isolated from Covid area etc. As someone said above, I’m in the probably safer than going shopping category.

    Update time!

Consultant appointment today and it wasn’t good. The main break in my femur has not healed. He has gone away to discuss with other specialists, but will defiantly mean more surgery and more non weight bearing time.

This feels like going right back to the start again. My leg still does not bend past 40-50degs and nothing will be done about that until the main break is fixed.

On the positive side the distal area (top of the knee) has heeled well and looks good on the scans, just can’t bend the bloody thing because of scar tissue.

Anyway what’s the usual crank system on ebikes? Will I be able to sort a Unicam system onto one?

    Cheers

Ah statistics, fantastic things until you are one…

5 years commuting here no incidents worth talking about at all.

Until May 2nd last year, now I can just about walk.

I was one of the unlucky ones, hit completely out of the blue by someone not looking on a 20mph road.

I had rode around 29,000 miles on the road, so I was probably due

    **** statistics!

It’s update time! As I’m sat in hospital waiting for my hydrotherapy session. Now over 4 months since the accident. The doctors have now said I can fully weight bear, this is fantastic! I can now carry stuff around again. I celebrated this fact by spending 5hrs changing sockets around the house. Unfortunately my leg bend is still pretty poor at around 40-50 degrees.

However, I have managed to find a way to start riding again (all be it stationary). When at the physio gym I was using a exercise bike called Uni-cam, which allows several different crank arm lengths depending on leg bend. I woke up one Saturday morning thinking you must be able to put this on a normal bike, quick google later turns out yes you can!

Cost me (well the car drivers insurance) a pretty penny, but I’m now setup in the garage with a very fancy Zwift setup!

Things to note: Turns out smart trainers can’t calculate cadence at all if your pedal stroke is as unbalanced as mine now is so an additional cadence sensor is required. And Zwift is hard! stop peddling for even a second and the bloke stops completely. I found out that this is due to the trainer hardness setting, once that’s turned to full simulation you actually get some of the benefit from momentum!

Sorry for rambling post but most People around me don’t want to hear about this bike nonsense! 😂

Hi all thought today would be a good day for an update, still only partial weight bearing for a least 6 more weeks. Have started very light physio, and through the kindness of colleagues picking me up I have returned to work. All these things where making me feel quite positive and looking forward to going to the consultant today…

However the doctor I saw today wanted to make sure I understood exactly how bad the injury is, they have had to reconstruct the bottom of my femur where it works with the knee. Recovery from their point of view would be to get to 90deg of bend in the leg. I’m looking at a knee replacement in a few years, Its going to feel uncomfortable and in pain a lot of the time. I asked about what activities would I be able to do as before the accident I would cycle to work everyday and would enjoy mountain biking and football every week too.

The doctor said I would be able to ride a road bike again but I would not be able to mountain bike or play football again. My response was I don’t want to go near a road bike ever again. I explained that one of the motivational targets in my head had been to go on a mountain bike holiday again at some point, he said that if I could get to that I would of proven him wrong.

Obviously this has been a bit of shock for me and I’m feeling pretty down today.

By far the most dangours pass on a bike I’ve ever had was by a tractor towing a large trailer, doing +25mph I had just over taken it, when he was doing less than 25, which means I deserved to be forced from the road, only time I’ve arrived home shaking I was that scared, so yeah like every other type of person, some of them are dicks, some I’m sure are not

Stupid automated system needs the reference number from the letter

ring up – fail to put a number 3 times and it lets you talk to a human who can give you the customs number from your tracking number.

Please tell me this doesn’t actually happen, the kids may be reading some very inappropriate things!

I thought it was phone number by default, if you want the phone messages on other devices to sync you have to activate it on each device?

Sounds to me OP is sending to email/apple id not a phone number – a little contact info manipulation should solve the issue

My wife has just switched to an iphone – could be an interesting talk with the kids tonight….

Interesting Thread, as a result I have asked myself how “Socilaist” am I?

Kids go to the nearest school, because to quote my wife “all schools should be of the same standard” I agree with her, but has been interesting how much stuff at home we have ended up doing.

Have no private medical, NHS does a bang up job whenever I/family come into contact with it.

In principle think that utilities like water/electricity/sewage should be government provided funded from general taxation.

I would say every one should not be taxed on income at all until it has surpassed a decent minimum wage

I ride a bike to work every day (does this count as a “Socilaist” policy, i’m not sure)

    But then…

I don’t give to any charities. (is this anti “Socilaist” thing or just mark me out as a selfish ****)

Don’t really understand why we have 40% tax bracket (no I don’t earn enough to pay it) to punish individuals – tax the crap out of large companies by all means

Find it difficult to understand the place of unions/strikes in the modern world.

All the “Socilaist” stuff on social media, its really is sanctimonious crap. I would wager a lot of money that’s pretty much why labour lost the election.

And as for teachers who moan about their job………

Oh and I have never voted for any “Socilaist” party.

    Interesting replies, thank you.

I’m very lucky that my commute is 16miles along mainly flat country roads, I commute every day, on a good day I do it just under 45min.

I’m not really that concerned about “offending” anyone, was meant as a tounge in cheek title, if I was I certainly wouldn’t be wearing lycra!

The “hiking boots” in question are Adidas Terrex. I went for them as they are “waterproof” it is indeed an interesting combination.

My motivation to change would be an increase in speed, but Jury seems out on that.

Every message is on ebay, I will report him using the report buyer option.

I use ebay for buying a lot, The bike I bought to replace it was from ebay, I never realized the effort that goes into selling things before. Defiantly not worth it for a £90 bike.

    Thanks for advice everyone

Oh my god, he’s still bloody going on! What was he expecting for £90?

Hes now using terms like “issues not advised to me”

Im going to give up, refund and tell hem him to keep the sodding thing. I cannot be arsed with this all-over again.

Is their a way to report the buyer to ebay for abusing the system?
