Thanks for the replies. How do they size up? My head measures 58cm, so I’m between sizes.

I have owned a Primal 29 for about 6 months now and it’s great. Just over 6ft and riding a medium frame. Reach is a little short, but similar to an 18″ Scandal I had before. Running it with a 140mm Yari and it’s coped with everything I’ve thrown at it.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like it will go on the classifieds or eBay. I have the SS dropouts and SS set up, so they may be of use to someone. Failing that I can always scrap it for 70p 🙄

Dartmoor Hornet ticks all the boxes and is a bargain at £185. Leaves you with over £300 spare for new forks too.

Cheers for the link @wombat. Did have a brief look on there, but that obviously involves buying the book. We have a gps and mapped a route using as many quieter country lanes as possible. In the ‘Guestbook’ someone has said to avoid the NCN 2 which is helpful to know.

@pete, we will be avoiding the a303 altogether. I regularly drive it to see my parents and would never consider riding it, especially with the 50mph winds we are expecting (as you rightly said).

Will be putting my teal 18″ 29er inbred frame on the classifieds tonight unless anyone is interested here?

Had elixir 1s and managed to kill them after 3 rides. Can’t imagine higher end elixirs being any better. Have 2 sets of deore 615s now and for the money they are incredible.

2.2 kenda nevegal up front and 2.25 smorgasboard. Not a great deal of clearance on the rear tbh.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but really really need a new home!

Are there any stwers with a property they would like to let out? Have exhausted nearly all options now. Finding somewhere that takes a dog is near on impossible!!! I am moving jobs to one in Aldershot,so anywhere within 10/15 miles would be perfect.

Hey duner. I am based in Aldershot. The frame was a forum purchase so not new, although the guy I bought it off still has a reciept of purchase. What are the chances of sending the frame back to him and making a warranty claim? There are no signs of damage to cause the problem and it hasn’t been ridden hard. Alternatively, going into a store may be a lot easier than sorting out couriers and waiting to see if I have a claim or not.

Thanks for all the replies. Managed to break my forks on the 29er so the full sus build is being put on hold. Very annoying! But when I do have funds will def be considering a pitch.

I used a Works ring with no guide and a non clutch xt rear mech around Peaslake, Surrey and never dropped a chain. Save a tenner and go for the Works. Made in the UK too (support British industry).
