I’ve got one- just got back from a ride using it in fact. It’s a great quality piece of kit but I have to say I’ve been a bit disappointed in the power. It gives great close flood but it doesn’t throw light very far down the trail at all. If I were looking now I’d be considering spending the extra on an R8 or another brand
I’m considering the switch too. Currently have an XO crank so I reckon the best way to go is just get a thick/thin chain rings and XO1 shifter, mech and cassette. Should save a fair bit of cash that way
Bennyboy- on mine the white carbon is very slightly raised in a circle around both the driveside lower pivot and the non-drive side pivot where it meets the seatstay. There are no signs of any cracks and tbh it looks like it’s just part of the frame. There is certainly a raised area but not like in ur pic
Just rushed off to check my TRc after reading this. My lower drive side pivot has no signs of cracks but just a slightly raised area around the pivot axle. Is this normal?
Sounds like you definitely need to go and have another chat with your dentist. I agree that what ur dentist is most likely trying to say is that the crown margins are deficient. However this does not necessarily mean they need replacing. Ask some questions as to why they need replacing? What effect is their deficient margins having? If you are able to maintain the crowns properly and have done so for a number of years then they may not need replacing at all. Also ask about ur private hygiene visit. If you need any periodontal (gum) treatment then this is also included in ur band 3 £214, as is any other treatment that you may require to make you dentally healthy.
Where are you based if you don’t mind me asking?
There some good stuff up on Clent and Walton hill. Quite short sections though- I’d say nowhere near as much as the Wyre though. All of it is really easy to find though unlike Wyre forest!
Great riding mate- some of that stuff over Kinver is a lot bigger/harder than it looks so fair play. I need to try hitting some of it one time considering its 10mins down the road.
I ordered one but there are a couple of catches- 11-32 cassette and 28/40 up front isn’t the best setup, non-clutch mech and centrelock rotors. Overall still a bargain though!
Like most I avoid if I can but if I use FPs to link local trails then I’ll ride them when I know they are going to be quiet. Had a good one the other day: Asked a farmer if the path I was turning onto was the bridleway, he then says ‘yes it is, but you’re not allowed to ride your bike on a bridleway’
Bit OT but in the West Mids! messing around with the GoPro at Clent tonight. Trails are running sweet G0030067 by luke.greenwood, on Flickr
Rocketdog, are your action pics taken with a GoPro? They look awesome.I took some pretty cool ones over Clent tonight with my Hero 3 mounted on the seatpost but some are way out of focus. Any tips on settings?
Spent a few days riding over there last year mate. There’s no facilities other than porta-loos.some good pubs nearby though. Make sure you check out the blue, it’s fun ridden flat out and is only a short loop. The raven which iirc is the black is pretty challenging but an awesome ride, then the red trail is based from another car park but again is a fun ride. Hope that helps! Have a good one
