I have mt7’s and a set of formula cura 4 I would recommend the formulas, better modulation and feel, more reliable and easier to bleed.

The levers I have are RG bike components though eBay,the originals are fine but these just remove some play that creeps in over time and have a slightly nicer feel to them. I think I have bleed my formulas once in three years due to a cut hose.

I have magura mt7 on my hardtail and formula cura 4 on my full suspension. I much prefer the formulas, I have changed the levers to a set of CNC items with bearings as the plastic bush wears in the standard lever and make the levers slightly sloppy but that’s after 3 years of use. The maguras are good but not as much modulation and slightly less power.

Anyone have a link for the decathlon trousers that are recommended as there seem to be a few different ones available on their website

Just buy a normal socket put it in a drill bit of emery paper or file on the end until it fits

I have a set of the dmr composite and the burgtec ones. The burgtec are definitely more grippy but at the cost of ripping the soles of my five tens very quickly. I can’t tell the difference between vaults and the dmr composite both very good and I’m not sure I would bother going back to metal

That perfect, I will get on trail forks and start planning a route.

    Thank you for the help

I get the same thing from my raceface pads, they have a microfiber like inner that contacts my knee caps. I find a really good scrub with a brush and some fairy liquid keeps them going for a bit longer but ultimately it means the end is near. I usually get about 18-24 months out of a pair seems a waste to bin an otherwise perfect pad but there’s nothing worse than rubbing your skin away on a ride

Schrader valve under the seat on mine, yeah I might just order an external service kit and see if the seal fits I would guess they would all be the same, we will see

Tried that site but they don’t have any stock, I wondered if it’s a standard seal I could pick up somewhere else ?

I have had both different types of pad and noticed no difference, I just put Uber race matrix pads in now which are two pads rather than four as wood braking as genuine but half the cost.

I have had a few mt5 levers develop a leak from the master cylinder, the pin that operates the master cylinder just seems to attract a lot of dust to begin with then you might see an odd drop. Magura have a leak guarantee I think it’s five years they have replaced quite a few of mine.

I have an ultrasonic cleaner, done a couple of particularly bad cassettes in it but find it’s often much easier with a bit of Morgan’s blue. No heating up water and an annoying buzz for an hour.

Excellent the one I thought would fit was £150 I was just pricing up 12 speed instead 🤣, I’m going from boost 12mm microspline to boost 12mm Shimano old style.

I will get that ordered thank you for your help

I gave up with rimpact kept doing that or drying out the sealant, bought tougher tyres and no issues or faff carrying a snake down a mountain when you have to put a tube in 🤦🏻‍♂️

I have cura 4’s and they are by far the best brake I have used great power and nice modulation without masses of lever throw. The only downside is the lack of availability of pads and limited aftermarket options at present.

I have a set and really like the power and modulation they work very well for me but brake pad availability is a pain. I have been using Uber bike race matrix which have been perfect all summer, but I have found that they wear at an alarming rate in wet conditions and don’t provide the best power. I have used original sintered pads which are much better in the wet and last a bit longer but are very expensive. Hopefully a few more aftermarket options will appear soon

I have a XL G1 and I absolutely love it, I’m 6 foot and it feels like the best fitting bike I have ever owned. Everyone always talks about it being too long to go round switchbacks but I completely disagree it’s no issue cournering it what so ever. I have ridden it over in Spain and in Surrey hills and it works for everything.

I know Chris Porter is a bit controversial but offers a great test ride and custom build, I really felt like his listened to what I had to say and was happy to demonstrate why he recommended products.

Book a demo and see for yourself

I have two sets one with deore levers and one set with zee levers, the deore feel slightly better to me less lever throw than the zees. I have found that using the magura barb and olive seals better than the Shimano ones which have leaked for me.

Amazing brakes nothing else I have tried has come close massive power.

I like the original levers but have had the lever seal fail on both sets that’s why I put Shimano levers on.

I have a 2018 blue pig and it’s an amazing bike, the paintwork is absolutely flawless and the welds all look tidy. I also have a 3-4 year old Marley which has a damaged drop out and ragley have offered a very generous crash replacement with a 2020 frame.

I would definitely buy another one of there bikes.

I have a mud hugger on my mattock and found that there wasn’t really enough clearance kept jaming with a few leaves or mud. Ended up cutting a hole for the brace to sit into it works better but still very tight clearances.

Interested to see if anyone has found anything better ?

Fit the tyre without insert, let the tyre down, remove one side of the tyre insert and refit tyre inflate. Job done

I have one but it’s a lot of hasstle getting it out and set up and the water heated, it’s also quite noisy while running. I find a quick scrub with some Morgan’s blue is the best option

That’s my frame ! It happened when the bike was in the back of my van when something fell off a shelf and hit it. It happened over a year ago and has never caused any issues. I removed the paint you can see just to check for damage. I have jumped it crashed it and it has been fine. I completely understand that it’s not worth a great deal but I’m sure it would be perfect for someone as it has been a brilliant bike for me but the lure of the blue pig was too strong 🤣
