I run an Alfine on a 456 – just change the widget thingy on the bolt for the hub, so vertical / horizontal drop outs can be accommodated……

    + 1 for the Storm Control’s

I can’t get my Crest’s to seal – I’ve tried rim strips (too wide), I’ve tried yellow tape and valves (valve leaks around the rim) – but certainly tubeless tyres (Specialized the Captain & Specialized Storm Control) seem to be no problem at all getting on (IMHO) and usually I struggle with getting tyres on

Agreed with PlumzRichard, I enjoy the fun of racing don’t take it too seriously, so when someone wants to pass, I try to make sure that I make room for them :D

What’s wrong with calling someone a Cart, or Crit, or Cast, or Can’t? Don’t see the need for asterisks personally, just come out and say it?

Dobo – i’m a bit unsure do you want to give “good spot to take the fiancée when it’s been wet for a while” a go or the trail?

Got one on a HT that I’m planning to ride through the winter (off road) and it’s been built with a Mavic DH rim, 36 spokes – so very burly. Find the Alfine heavy and cumbersome to get up to speed, the gearing is very W……I……D…….E, but apart that all is good. Ask me again at the end of the winter mudfest and I’ll tell you how much cash I’ve saved on chains, cassettes, crank sets, chain rings, front mechs etc :-)

Agreed – Rollers good for warm up / balance etc – turbo best for harder workouts and you don’t need to concentrate any where near a smuch leaving more time of the MTB DVD’s on the telly, in the garage………..mmmm turbo’s calling out to me

TF Tunded won’t touch the 55’s or the ATA’s from Marzocchi – agreed on the poor response from UK Importer and 25% seems poor value. Have got a pair of 55TST2’s wouldn’t go any where near Marzocchi again.

The TST forks are well know for being sh**e

Most of the LBS’s around here have very big windows (so they can see you coming a mile off) – needs must and all that, but that can’t justify such a difference in price
