“Anyone saying Penmachno or Marin is either seriously spoiled for trail centres, mental, or obviously just too shit or unfit to ride them properly”

Re: Penmachno – I must be mental then as I don’t think I’m spoiled, not shit and pretty fit – the trail is grim with a flat slog, in a gutter, at the top that is neither up nor down that takes you back to where you split and takes ages – no payoff for the hard work….

We’re off to Flaine at Xmas, and been looking at Zermatt for April – I’d rather have something snow-sure-ish if possible.

TW agreed on the technique bit but it’s hard going after a hard day on the slopes, and tiring if you do it more than a few times. A bit like riding a fireroad – necessary but not fun

nbt – usually go to Cervinia 2nd week in April – OK up top till late afternoon, grim slush at the bottom from about 2500 mtrs, to resort at 2000mtrs – just looking for somewhere different to ski at the end of March without going on full on Glacier

Depends how posh you want to be – lots of pasta dishes can be made in one pot, as can Paella (minus the fish), Stew, hotpot, there is a agreat italian chicken dish with lemon and olives that cooks in one pot, as above how posh do you wanna be?

Mega wet when I rode through earlier – and slippy….hard to get/maintain and decent speed. Golf Course run was about the best bit…

The bridge is missing on the bridleway at the bottom too – so if you come that way you will get wet crossing the Tanners Brook – apparently to concrete bridge is missing due to “vandalism” 8O

60 denier, sheer and in a dark colour is what I usually wear (pretty polly or John Lewis own brand I like) – if covers the dark hair on my legs well and with the thinkness of tights covers my varicose veins.

    Ooops…………………………wrong forum

Steelsreal, I ruptured / snapped both Cruciate Ligaments on 2 separate occassions skiing and have skied a good few times since. Both times they happened I thought it was the end of my skiing for good only to find that with the right physio and strenghtening I have been able to go back.

I have needed to ease off a bit though 8O

That’s awesome, I won’t ask how you found out, where conveniently you obtained the camera at just the right time or found the collar thingy – it’s simply outstanding work…..

Transapp – very interesting trail and yes uber rideable – what’s the deal with the Cheddar Caves gate mid-way by the tower as from my map is’s a bridleway all the way and yet when you look at the signeage it appears that it may be privately owned.

Great map and largely accurate I think from the rides I’ve done at LW.

FWIW – the trail that runs down the side of the motorway I’ve always referred to as “Star Wars” as it’s like going through the trees on whichever star wars film it was and the one that follows the river along to the Bridleway I’ve always referred to as “no dabs” largely as it’s so tight, slow and rooty that the get to the end (without dabbing) is a minor miracle.

Most of the trails at the moment need a little (or big) bit of work on – the northshore bridge over the really wet bit has gone completely and the “Gully Run” needs a something in the middle as it’s very deep, wet and soft so that your wheels get sucked in like quicksand.

On the opposite side (of the fireroad) to the Gully Run is the bombhole and I reckon there is the makings of a trail if you carry sraight on, that could be very jumptastic 8O

Other way around for me – I ride my HT for a bit more speed and distance but it hurts my behind and lower back after 3-4 hours, so I get fed up with it anyway. When I go back to my FS seems like riding on a magic carpet…..

There’s a clue in the frame name……….120mm will be fine, the stem length will have a bigger bearing on “squirrelley-ness”

Depends what you want to do with it once built?

Hammering a DH course, doubt it

    Riding XC on it :D

No experience of home repairs on TST 2’s – Windwave were replacing the TST lockout unit as standard under warranty of couple of years back. I ran a pair and the only way I could get the required level of travel was with about 20psi in them (and I’m only about 12 st).

It doesn’t come with a base map, that’s why you need to use the SD card, which is an OS map card – what other base maps would you be thinking of using (as they are all based on OS maps)?

For route planning, as long as it’s a GPX file then you can use what you like – the SatMap software comes with a conversion utility also.
