No restrictions on height, just who they travel with. In winter skiing, they always ask the adults if they dont mind taking a small one on the chair for ski school – reckon must be some who are 3 or 4 years old.

My kids love chair lifts, from a very early age – summer and winter

http://www.laterooms.com pretty good – includes reviews of those who have stayed, which tend to be very honest

I have the same forks, and have been fitted to a variety of different frames since 2008. They have been regularly serviced etc over the period and I’ve now reached the conclusion that they are not that good over small bumps. I have the compression set to quite a high level so that I get a quick response (which is how I like them) but have to really work the fork to get traction over fast bumpy terrain – to compensate tend to run a bit more sag on the rear. This is not ideal, but having lived with the fork for a while, it’s the best I can find for my sort of riding preference.

By way of contrast I have some cheaper RS coils on a HT and they ride very, very differently

I’ve ridden a 456 with 100mm fork and 130mm fork and much prefer the 130mm. With hindsight, the 100mm seemed too small for it

I have an Inbred with a 100mm fork and I’ve done a lot of “harder” XC stuff on it, and it’s more than fine.

Was in the Alps last year and saw a rider on an Inbred with 140mm forks on it, going down the DH runs and he said it was fine – that I wouldn’t do 8O

If more than one person riding at night, it’s best to turn rear lights off (ie red ones) until you are back on the road

Having said the tenderness is GOOD (I agree) so is resting your legs and if you can getting a massage.

Do you ride any kind of training schedule? What rest do you take and what mix of hard / easy rides?

Heated shoe inserts – you can get them and they are battery powered.

Slightly the other way around; when I needed to claim (had Sliver BC membership) and they were awesome, even when the person I was claiming against, counter-claimed I was still covered.

Let me help you, petrol is about £1.40 / £6.00 per gallon. Your Clio might get 30mpg depending on the speed you drive

Did 2 and a bit hours on the south coast, warm enough, rained a bit, but just flat and muddy slop.

Reckon it would have cost me a chain and cassette at least

Had one, which was a camper conversion and bought a mahoooosive awning that fitted to the side / sliding door – could pitch another small tent (or 2 or 3) inside the awning for the kids to sleep in.

Hard going dragging a trailer and can’t sleep 4 and was a little uncomfortable sleeping in it – limited use of camping conversion unless ultra fine weather

Upside; great day van, easy to drive (2.5 v6, 4WD auto), found a good independent garage who never had a problem getting parts etc. Cheapish to run

It’s happened countless times to countless members on this and other forums – seems to me, that money that should have been spent on a reasonable stock counting system has not been invested – so cheap online “advertised” prices are all that’s offered, and sh*te service when you do complain

For work stuff (which is the written word) we post a copy to outsleves and write “copyright” accross the seal of the envelope, and then use the post mark as the date and store it away in the office. Taken legal advice twice on it, as we felt we needed to get a solicitor involved and both came up with the same advice.

I have a carbon 456 with a 130mm fork on it, 2.3 tyres and a big heavy DH rim on the rear and and surprised about how much abuse it can take and how bouncy it feels.

Having said that, I have a Pitch also and nice as the 456 is, it’s no replacement for the Pitch.

    Good for winter abuse……

Same as Nuke really, I do some drops and try to jump the Alfine (you will notice the weight at the back 8O ) – it’s on a HT bike with big fat tyres so this helps a bit with the bouncy-ness – mainly though it’s for getting the miles in over winter and keeping things running through the mud

Oh! – Thats not my experience and use both the Extreme and normal versions for the last 4-5 years – cold definately effects the viscosity, and if I don’t shake the bottle well enough (particualy the big bottles) then it just gets thicker and thicker as it nears the end.

    Rogue batch maybe?

Personally can’t see the benefit unless you’re a racer looking for the lightest bike possible

    – unless you’ve ridden one how would you know?

My carbon 456 with wide rims, big tyres and a bigish fork is such a smooooooooth ride.

Yes, but think thats the whole point of it.

I tend to put on and run the chain around (a lot) even though it doesn’t mix well, and find if you get it on well it stays on.

Shake the bottle, mix up for a bit and then wack it on, leave it, let it go hard – stays on a treat :D :D

Thanks for the info, it’s summer biking that I’m thinking about and as I say, more DH than XC….mmm?

Been looking online at various sites, and whilst it gives a idea there’s nothing like gathering comments from peeps that have experienced it 1st hand.

Part of the appeal is that there is a campsite near the village / chair lift and was hoping not to travel that much but that’s looking increasingly likley
