UST ones work a treat for me, 2.4’s and 2.2’s – even swopped rims a couple of times….

To raise the tone…..I had one off the wrist during the beach volleyball,
I should really have waited till I got home…

In a crowded office – that would be gold medal territory

A mate has a 29’er hardtail – changed a few bits on it once bought (forks and wheels). He swears by it, really likes it and regularly kicks by behind on it.

I think the Hammerschmidt AM crank is a geared crank type system avoiding the need for front chainrings? – if you decide to take off, yes it will take a front mech and chainrings as lower spec models have no Hammerschmidt crank.

For those that have ridden in the Vosges, any advice on bike choice?

I could take either a 120mm full suss, XC machine or a 140/160mm Pitch for a a bit more gnarr – any advice?

I do when I absolutely have to as with T Mobile it means extra costs on my “everything included, unlimited” tariff – money sucking vampires

Aston has 3-4 downhill runs, short, very (i mean very) slippery, and 1 red XC course, that’s nice going down and very steep going up, but unfortunately not at all long.

Good to go if you are there, even in the wet but take your bike skills with you

What’s she like? A looker? Good in bed? I might be prepared to trade 1 pedal, but would need some reassurance to trade both…… 🙂

I could take it for you, for the cost of the fuel and tunnel crossing (as long as it’s in the Alps or on the way) 😀

Loads of campsites at that end of the Lake, we stayed here last summer Tarbole Campsite[/url] – awesome time, great for MTB also and +1 for uplift. Avoid the niche, ubuer German bike shops unless you like tight white Assos kit and Cube Bikes

The red route from les deux alpes resort down to Venosc far from average – steep, loose and some biggish jumps plus a long run.

Some of the reds down from the mid-station back to the resort pretty awesome too.

Woodwork sections on the runs that are on the left as you come into the resort, can be tricky in the dusty dry or wet conditions.

    Chalk and cheese IMHO.

FOD trail had me off and walking a couple of times the last time the enduring ran, and I can do 3 or 4 loops of the Cwmcarn trail on the trot and no dabbing

From the Website in the link

**Visitors are free to explore the mountain from car park level using the footpath network. Visitors can not use the train as a means of access to the high mountain area unless they are on a guided walk (see Walks & Hiking). There is no access onto the mountain outwith the skiing season for those who take the train to the top. Visitors must remain within the building or weather watching terrace. Walkers who walk up to the top from the car park can enter the Top Station during opening hours via the Walker’s Entrance and return to the bottom by train. (Tickets can be purchased in the Shop at the Top).

What happened to roaming / access rights in Scotland?
