Not this one specifically, but more generally with the Specialized 2bliss tyres (Captain, Storm Control). I quite like the tyres, especially the price and live in the flat sandy South Coast of the UK, however if I lived somewhere with a few more rocks (I wish) then i’d have to think twice about these as a tyre choice.

Not sure down from Les Deux Alpes, but there is a marked xc ride from Venosc to Bourg D’Oisson, and in the tourist office there are plenty of maps etc for XC riding.
The XC routes marked on the Les Deux Alpes piste trail map are all fireroads (up and down) although some of the reds from the top could be ridden on an XC bike, it only gets a bit rougher towards the bottom red sections. The green / blues could easily be ridden on an XC bike.

Other paths have open access so a good map will show plenty of options.

Not sure about guides, perhaps the Tourist Office?

Kev not fancy the women? You’ve not watched the prog from the start – some of the ladies he may as well be “doing it” there and then! Roving eye that man

I take it back – whilst wikipedia is not all that reliable, this is referenced to his autobiography…

He lives in a 15th-century farmhouse in Frome, Somerset,[1] with his wife Zani.[2]

    So, yeah very roving………

Assuming you mean XC rather than road, in which case…..
Mine always get scuffed, broke, ripped, torn over the winter , and therefore don’t last that long. Tend to avoid anything that’s 100% neoprene as they are big, bulky and quite fragile (although they do work) and go for a mixture of materials that reduces bulk and fitting. For off road stuff, I avoid the ones with velcro closure as it just gets clogged with mud, trail debris, sand etc even after washing and they become much less useable. Only other factor for me is then price, ie lower the better – see who’s got a sale or selling cheapo

Uncle Kev obviously agrees as he hasn’t made her pregnant like most other ladies on the show.

And there’s me thinking that Kev played for the other team?

Only think about Spesh tyres for me is that the sidewalls are quite thin. Ok for a southern boy like me, where winter means wet sandy soil, not sure how they’d hold out in rocks/flint/slate?

If you are going from triple to double, rear and front mechanism should cope. I’ve got a 24 / 36, with a 34 cassette and have a good range of gears for most places I ride…

‘m sorry, you have lost me.

Are you saying rather than Christmas Cards and Ferrero Rocher, I should spend my wages on a wages for an extra Teaching Assisant, an MRI machine and a bypass for the village ???

(I think you may have got “consumer spending” and “government spending” mixed up ??)
Nope – don’t think so, money going into pockets of large corporations is the same money going to fund worthwhile projects. Weather it’s consumer or Govt spending it’s all part of the same merry-go-round, and there is only one pot of cash – that how “the economy” works. Supermarkets beguile consumers into thinking “they want” the products offered, this is exactly what this post misses –

But surely this means that someone is actually buying that crap this early? Supermarkets wouldn’t use valuable retail space to showcase something that doesn’t sell, right?

    – wrong! They tell you what they think you want and then sell it to you

Which Consumer Spending “MESS” would be solved by companies not selling products to customers ?

I’m not sure I follow what your saying.

Spending on the right stuff like education, NHS, roads etc rather than retailers convincing us Xmas stuff is relevant now, and again later – too much of life’s cash is spent on tatt….soooo it’s a case of not the amount, more what we are bamboozled in buying.

It’s definitely not Morrisons selling wrapping paper, boxes of chocolates, cards this time of year.

How about peace and goodwill to all men, rather than outright consumerism?
