    What’s grim about it?

Errrrm, bit wet for me on 2nd half, uninspiring with limited downhill bits until the end and a flat slog around the top – was a couple of years ago, so maybe not doing it justice

The blues over the other end of the resort (newly built last year) are also mega mega fun and jumpy . High up last year (the last lift station) was closed due to too much snow, so was disappointing to not be able to ride from the top, although it’s a bit bleak /’desolate

Most places will sell traditional food of pies, buns, chips or all 3 together, plus gravy – do you need a specific recommendation?

Did 3 1/2 weeks last year, mainly in the Alps with bikes on the back of the van using Aires and spent less than 200 euro’s on camping / pitch fees – stayed in some amazing places. My experience is that theft is rarely an issue for bikes. I use good quality chain & locks, with a rack on the outside and then use a long cable lock that goes inside the van and is secured to chassis.

Oh, and going to do the same thing again this year and a about 10 days time…….

You can become a “real” member when you start threads with
    1. “tell me about (insert suitable banal topic)”
    2. “which (tyres, wheels, shock, frame, inner tubes – delete as needed) are best for”,
    3. when you complain about a trail centres, braking bumps, people wearing stuff that you wouldn’t, couldn’t or shouldn’t…

    – after that consider yourself a member, oh and you need to drive an Audi.

    Welcome :D :D

I love the Canyon sales model, think the bikes and spec are amazing, and the lack of ANY support in the UK put me off completely buying a second one. When I did get through on the phone to the UK chap, he was quite possible one of the most unhelpful people I have ever dealt with – good luck OP, and as per others would think an email trail, and phone call to Germany are the way to go. If still no response, a parcel return, letter explaining all the above would be a good follow up….

DeeW, yes plenty although still gets a fair amount if use. Often trails get plenty of love at the start of the season and limited maintenance throughout as season is very short.

Antur Stiniog – N Wales – awesome tracks and excellent uplift

    Clicky Linky[/url]

Bike Park Wales -if you can book an uplift as it’s mega mega mega busy

Also done FOD (once) it was OK, but won’t be rushing back. Cwmcarn I’ve ridden a lot, which leaves some of the N Wales and more local stuff….some push up locations in the South but nothing with an uplift :(

Is it a proper DH track or just a trail that points downhill?

Seems like the latter rather than the former having ridden it, thought I’d was on an alternative Red Trail….

Depends on budget, but £1500 – £2k should secure something reasonable, try Canyon / YT / other online retailers – I’m 6ft and my large Scott Voltage took a bit of getting used to as it felt tiny. Having ridden it for a couple of tears, with my ar*e hanging off the back it now feels the right size…..

Ok, that’s Sunday sorted! Thought the red was fun earlier in the week, so much so I went back and did it again! 1st time there, and really impressed with set up etc

I’ve got an RP23 on mine, which came from another bike – matched with a bigger fork (36 Van R’s) gives a bit more of a “solid” feel – I fancy trying a coil but it’s not the bike I’d take for uplifts or big days out so can’t really justify it
