I have two favorites that I can not seperate for two very different reasons….

    1) Tamarancho, Marin, California

    2) Mammoth Mountain, California

Whilst I have no problem with people enjoying the building and choosing aspect of a new bike – it’s certainly not what I do but that’s fine. However, I can’t see why you feel the need to change. Your existing bike is up to date, good condition and you can’t put a finger on why you want to get rid of it nor have you seen something that’s a must have to replace it. Difficult!

If you want the same but different – how about a SC Nickel or Butcher? From what I read, the linkage driven shock gives them quite a different feel.

Have you considered spending the cash on new bits for the existing bike?

Yes I know – I don’t know why I want a change, just do? You update your car every now and then, I suppose this is the same sort of feeling.

BUT…the butcher is a good shout! I seen one of those being built when I was in Santa Cruz last year and loved the look of it – will it be much difference though…..best test it and see!

if you love it so much, and its munt condition why replace it?
For the money you spend on a new top end full suss you could probably get a LT hardtail complete bike like an On Oe or something
    Then you have 2 bikes

I do love it – just fancy a change? If I got another MTB my wife would seriously hit the the roof! I had about 3-4 at one point + a roadie, I have scaled down now (I am pretty lucky as my workshop is the spare room in the house, so don’t want to push my luck and get kicked out in the cold for having too many bikes!)

Heckler too low? Is that the case with the newer 2009> ? You can run up to 160mm forks which brings it right up? I had the older version (2006) and I would agree, but the newer one (which I now have) feels much higher/stable than the old one….

Thanks Steve – a little embarrassed I must say! But thank you very much for those kind words and hope the ‘little-un’ has a great Christmas! It won’t make the future any better for her, but at least for one day she may forget what is happening in her life and enjoy some ‘special’ time for herself – it sounds like she deserves it!

You can not forget that it was you who responded to the thread in the first place and if people like you didn’t take the time and effort to do so, none of it would have happened!

Merry Christmas everyone on STW and a Happy New Year!

Intending to be doing Exeter to Sheffield on Friday night after work. (5pm)

    this is:

    a) weather dependant
    b) cutting it fine for pre Christmas day delivery!
    c) the wrong side of the peaks!

if you can work around that though, the car is plenty big enough.

    Emailed you. Thank you!

Fellow Dartmoor dweller here…where on Dartmoor are you going? Myself and a buddy ride various places across Dartmoor on a regular basis….

Have you checked the weather where you are moving? This is us at the moment…

After being off the bike due to an accident last year for 5 months the consultant told me for every week off it would take a week to get it back (he was a VERY keen MTB’er himself!) – and he was right!

    Laguna Niguel – California?

    Mammoth Mountain?

    Lake Tahoe?

    Downieville?

Tamerancho & the Repack with Charlie Kelly and Joe Breeze?

    The Stratosphere – Las Vegas?

Mmm? Confused now? I thought you just wanted the ‘data’ which is generated as a result of the calculations & filters – without the calculations & filters actually being there?

But if you still want some sort of filtering then you would need to reapply these filters to the copied data.

Don’t see why you’d need record VBA/Macro, if you just wanted ‘non-dynamic’ data.

Highlight the cells you want to copy, open up another sheet/workbook, right click on blank cell, select ‘Paste Special’, then click ‘Values’, click ok.

I had a trip recently and it was awesome! If you’re interested in looking at somewhere other than Sun Valley/Idaho, then this would be my recommendation….

I can give you any advice for the areas mentioned.

    18″ Right & 17″ Left :?

Thought I’d do both as I smashed the left foot to pieces in Sept 09 and only came out of a cast in February this year & ever since I thought I had comedy legs! Clearly have! 8O

    For me:

Advantages = Good tyre & rolled VERY well, but I had issues with grip on the front end and had endless punctures!

High Rollers = ‘OK’ at everything and rolls well but also suffered with punctures.

Minions = Most grippy tyre I have used and NO punctures whatsoever despite just covering some really harsh terrain in California, but DO NOT ROLL VERY WELL AT ALL!

So I think the next mix for me will be Minion Front & HR rear.

ahhh well if you can bits at a decent price then we’ll all love you

I’ll do my best! :-) hence why I trying to find out what parts you guys would want the most, i.e. just difficult to get hold of or hard to come by at a decent price?

ltheisinger- looks like there’s not that much that isn’t already available with a wee bit of hunting around really

but it would be nice to get them at a reasonable price I would assume, because from what I can tell the prices seem inflated?

Ok…. So I can see that the ‘frustrations’ are mainly vanity/verbal/image etc. but the reason I ask is that I am able to get my hands on various parts for 29er’s, many of which are not available in the UK – so I am trying to decide which parts to start with, therefore perhaps the question should be – what parts would you want to be able to get hold of easier for your 29er?

Got both the Contour 1080P HD & Go Pro HD and like both, but the Contour does take better footage on an MTB (shake etc.) at 720p setting as the frame rate is ramped right up!
