If the top linkage on the drive side was ‘pulling’ in towards the seat tube could it not effect the whole of that side, i.e. wheel clearance & chain clearance – we are only talking a few mm at the top and even less down at the chain end?

I have just checked mine and although a little tight, I don’t have the same rubbing issue you have – I have checked the swing arm vs. seat tube and the clearance on each side is the same…

So I would say your swing arm if off centre? Therefore I can only think that maybe the bearings on the linkages are not seated properly or the linkages are actually bent/twisted?

For info: I am running a Sram Cassette & Chain – I also have the Crank Brothers wheels which require the spacer behind the cassette to stop the hub fouling the cassette.

Just an idea as the same happened to me after changing tyre brands, sorry I’ve no more ideas.

    Thanks for your help mate.

Mmmm? Thank DS I did that all was fine until the last 5psi or so, then it just peeled off!

I have just check again and I think the tyre must be oversized or the rim doesn’t really take a 2.5? As although it felt quite difficult to get on I have just removed the tyre without a tyre lever….not good!?

Do they sometimes get the sizing wrong or is is just that a 2.5 just won’t fit on my CB rim??

Standard M4 size (same as shifter clamp bolt) – a bit shorter though (10mm I think?)…

Most of the ‘marked’ trails are gravel now so not usually too bad – the cheeky stuff however is a bit wet at the moment (understatement!)….

Shall i check for you tomorrow and email you?

My email is in my profile if you could let know if you have one?? Cheers.

Just north of San Francisco is quite loose and dry in September (I was there at that time too), so I would certainly go for a Racing Ralph or Small Block 8 on the rear. Seemed to be a popular choice for those riding that area.

It depends where in California you’ll riding? It’s a big place with loads of different terrain, I got on very well all round on Nobby Nics when I was there at the end of last year and the year before…..

There’s going to be 9 of us out there arriving on 7th in the afternoon, we have a chalet in Morzine too. You’re welcome to pitch up with us when you’re free – mixed ability riding group – some DH only, some a mix of both & others will probably hit just ST.

If you’re looking for a beer & BBQ we might also be able to arrange that!

The monkey sanctuary is good for a laugh and the kids love it…I can’t remember how much of it is indoors (a few years since I’ve been there). Plus point is it’s only mins from Looe.

Sounds like air in the system that is rising to the reservoir when left overnight? Once bleeding has been sorted, the pistons should be fine too (as you will centralise them during the bleed).

I test rode both and ended up with the Mojo HD (the 160 version) – I would say that for most of the UK stuff it’s too much (not that I am complaining as it pedals incredibly well) – but I use it in the Alps & USA as well, so it serves everything for me.

Well here’s something…. I replied with the frame no’s etc that they requested – which I did at 8.14pm and guess what?

    An answer by 8.52pm!! 8O

Answer = new front triangle on route to me!

They said I can even keep riding the bike until the new one arrives and then send it back, so to minimise the time off the bike. :D

I huge BIG UP to 2Pure/Ibis.

So far, so good – sent the email last night at 5.45pm and a response at 9.14am this morning and the issue/pics was already in the hands of Ibis USA and an expected response on the issue tomorrow.

    Lets hope this carries on!

2pure are generally great, but what does your retailer have to say on the matter?

I have sent the pics to them, but I know they will just forward on to 2Pure and they’ll be the ones making the decision.

The rest of the comments look promising so far….

I’ve hit the deck several times over the past 3 years, many of which face first – my face is also still intact. I would buy another.

    California?

Fly into San Francisco, pick up Rv and head north….

Marin (plenty of riding, but Mt. Tam and the Repack are a must) > Sierra Nevada (loads of riding especially got to do Downieville etc.) > Tahoe (Flume Trail for the views!!!!) > Mammoth Mountain (mental!!) > Laguna Niguel (just south of LA) > Santa Cruz (via Highway one & Big Sur) > Back into San Francisco

Done this in a coupe of different guises over the last couple of years and had great fun!

Ok, sounds like a unanimous vote for the Minions (I had these left over from when i had a DH bike a while back, so just as well stick them on!).

    Thanks for your input guys.
