I didn’t realise walking was so dangerous but then again it amazes me how many people I see walking on the road, but even worse is some of them walk on the wrong side of the road with their back to the traffic.

I have been a Saucony user for over 10 years. They don’t spend a fortune on sales and marketing like most of the other brands so you get a lot of shoe for your money. Plus I always buy last years model at a huge discount.

Whatever time you do you will always want to beat it and like me never satisfied. I actually hated riding 10 mile TT’s, you have to go hell for leather right from the start. 50 miles was my preferred distance as had I could ease into my pace as it suited the training that I did.

BMW 520D M Sport 2008 model and I have got 63mpg on some long trips just cruising along at 55 to 60 mph (all dual carriageway or motorway) Average overall is 55mpg, very impressive for a car of that type, even a years road tax is only £115. Cheap motoring indeed.

Doesn’t look like these wheels are gonna work on my bike with the adaptors fitted as the adaptor is just touching the fork. So am I right thinking I will have to remove adaptor and use XTR splined rotors? Looks like the current rotors are 165mm having measured them on my old Mavic 717/Hope wheels. Do you get XTR 165mm size, and will 160mm perhaps be ok?

You sound just like me!!! I too have the same problems, the folk I work with are animals and leave the kitchen looking like a pig sty. I always end up clearing it up whilst the kettle is boiling. I used to throw folks own personal cups/dishes/plates in the bin or hide them somewhere at the end of the day if they left them lying about in the kitchen. Believe me most of them treat there own kitchen just the same.

Horses (or is that the folk riding them!) really get on my tits, I always warn that I am approaching and you still get abuse from some of them, plus they shit everywhere!! And walkers who see you coming and don’t move out your bloody way and seem to think you should move even when you both have an equal right of way.
And worst of all are dog owners that cannot control there dogs, I simply say to them if you cannot control your dogs keep them on a lead.
That’s enough moaning for one day!

I think it is time you worked for another company, why have you stayed with that organisation for so long?
Accept the pay rise for the time being and start looking for another job, I think them saying someone will be sacked because of your payrise is just a tactic to make you feel guilty.

I have been with Alliance & Leicester for several years which then became Santander. Online banking is excellent, very easy to use and never any problems. Good interest rate on there current account as well. However you do have to switch accounts every year or so as they are always bringing out new accounts with the good interest rates. The old accounts then revert back to 0.5% or so.

Vinyl is the ultimate at sound quality……end of story.

Vinyl is still the ultimate, always has been but very expensive as top quality turntables are extremely well engineered and expensive to produce. Plus you need an arm and a cartridge.
However you can get a very decent turntable for little money, look at models from Rega (Planar 2 and 3 have been around a long time and lots of used ones on the market) AR also made a decent deck caled the EB101 but my favourite deck for the money was the Dunlop Systemdek made in Scotland, bought one of these way back in the mid 80’s. I had a 11X model. Of course you will need an amplifier and a pair of speakers, you can pick these up for peanuts on ebay especially speakers. Rotel and NAD make great cheap amplifiers and for speakers choose something from Kef, Mission, Tannoy, B & W.

I don’t even open the letters, return to sender. In fact I do this for all junk mail as well, write on the envelope ‘Refused’ and stick it back in the postbox, they soon get the message.
If they keep sending then I put in an envelope and send it back to them without a stamp on it!!

I was lucky (or is that unlucky!) enough to be a time trialist and living in Scotland in the early 90’s when Graeme was at his peak. He was always approachable and a true inspiration and both him and Boardman where the fastest around at the time.

Time sure goes slow when your on your turbo trainer. I got myself some rollers as well which at least requires a bit of concentration, sure is fun the first time you use them though!

I have several Omega watches from the 1960’s and 70’s, nice and simple and don’t go out of fashion. Beautifully made and will last a life time. I don’t have any modern watches although the Omega Seamaster above is nice. I only wear watches with leather straps hence my preference for older watches.

Thanks coleman, to be honest I was very surprised at the price of UST tyres (why are they so expensive?) and funds are tight just now plus I have a brand new set of regular tyres ready to fit.

Vinyl is by far the best way to listen to music however the cost is out of the reach for many and a top flight record deck needs to be set up correctly.
My Oracle Delphi V/SME V/Lyra Titan sounds outstanding and people that have heard a record on my system were unaware that vinyl sounded so good. In comparism they say CD sounds flat and two dimensional compared to the three dimensional sound of vinyl.
CD perfect sound forever? I think not, although it has improved since it’s introduction why back in 1983 or so.

I remember going to see Star Wars at the cinema way back in 1977, it was an incredible experience. I was a huge leap for it’s time and was like nothing you had seen before.

I ALWAYS indicate when overtaking cyclists to let other drivers know and give loads of room. I notice though very few other drivers indicate.
Being a cyclist myself I would be devistated if I knocked someone off there bike however I often see cyclists with no lights on when dark or nearly dark and I do wish they would all wear helmits.

Some films I have seen look fantastic on blu ray, and superior to the standard DVD, even older film’s, Dirty Harry from 1971 for example looks fantastic on blu ray.
