I live in the Forest of Dean and the trails were lethal last week. First time in 5 years I never went out so stuck on the turbo trainer all week. Snow vanished overnight at the weekend.
Have never seen so many leaves on the trails though, and you never know what’s underneath them so I stick to the tracks that I know well.

Never read so much crap in all my life. If your not happy with the pay you receive then find another job offering better pay. Plenty of jobs out there, just requires a bit of effort.

The 520’s are brilliant and last a long time. They seemed to be £20 for years but not anymore.
Shimano pedals definitely not as good as they used to be. The best ones though were the XTR M970’s which were superbly made.

The government take nearly 58p per litre as well in duty and then VAT as well!!!

People that let there dogs bark in the garden are absolute ***** in my opinion. Used to have a neighbour who’s dog barked continually for about 45 minutes at a time.
Got in touch with dog warden and it ended. And then they sold house and moved.

A bike is only as good as the person riding it. I have several Strava KOM’s on or near the family trail in the Forest of Dean, all done on my Cube cyclo cross bike fitted with Shimano 105 that I picked up second hand for £500.

I live in Upper Lydbrook and I love it. Old railway line goes behind my house so you can get straight on the trails. I am away from the road and higher up so the house does see the sun through the winter. Some houses down on the main road don’t see the sun during the winter months so I would avoid a house like that.

I had an ICD fitted (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) last year and have been fine since. My heart beats away at 50 bpm at rest now.

Car tyres are cheap considering the mileage you get compared to the tyres we buy for our bicycles.

No mention yet of Vinnie Colaiuta or Dave Weckl. Both instantly recognisable and can play anything.
And John Robinson the most recorded drummer in history.

Can’t be that bad if the night team-leader keeps riding you constantly😀

Also be wary of folks charging you VAT and not being registered for VAT themselves.
Any VAT invoice must have their VAT registration number on there and you can check online if it is valid or not.

I recommend reading his autobiography to know more about him. It was a good read.

I was brought up in Dundee and loved it. Cycling was fantastic and deserted roads north of the city. I was a member of the Dundee Wheelers and a great bunch.
I then ended up in Aberdeen which was dreadful and hated the place and back down in England now in the Forest of Dean which I really like.

I hate football with a passion and always have. Baffled by its popularity but probably down to the fact that it’s a simple game for the masses of simple people. I do love it when a big game is on in the evening which means it nice and quiet when I go out on the bike.

I recently got my heart rate monitor replaced which was a few weeks out of the one year warranty. They did replace it but it took about 3 weeks and it came from mainland Europe.

Thanks for that, a really difficult part to find. A lot of folk think these are all the same for all Shimano cranks but there not!

Struggling to find a preload cap for a M9020 crank arm. Lots for sale but none seem to be suitable for XTR chainset.

I have a preload cap on a crank on another bike. I could remove that and use to install new crank arm. But should this preload cap be left in place permanently or is it ok to remove once crank is installed?

It’s remarkable to think this is now 86 years old. One can only imagine the experience of seeing this at the cinema back in 1933.
I watched it too this afternoon on BBC2. Would children watch this sort of thing now and in black and white which we seldom see on tv now.

If you can’t get a cash discount try and get a free set of pedals for example. Huge mark ups on cycling equipment and I would never pay RRP for anything.
