Hobby wise I mountain and road bike. Also do hillwalking and yoga.
I’ll check out the app store. Not keen on purchasing an app though only to find it is rubbish or I won’t use it.

No I don’t think I need a map on the device.
When doing centuries I’ve always a map on me anyway.
I just want to take some of the uncertainty out of the navigation enabling me to relax a bit more on the ride rather that constantly checking it in unfamiliar areas.
If I had a device that confirmed and indicated to me where to turn and in conjunction with the map reading is about all I require.

Cheers Simon. I’ve just ordered it from Amazon. Should give me a good few ideas. The other suggestions are much appreciated also.

Would I be better off cycling into Keswick and doing something like the Borrowdale bash etc? Not done much in the Lakes before and the number of routes available has me a bit bewildered.

Am I correct in saying that “one size fits all” for the frames?
Do you play around with layback/straight seat post and length of stem to find what suits an individual best?
How does the EBB arrangement work? Do I need to purchase a square taper BB?

Thanks timbur. Your build looks like what I hope to be going for.
I’ve run my current steel frame rigid for over a year now and can’t see me going back to suspension anytime soon. Love the direct sharp handling and feedback you get from the whole ride. Reckon that’s why I shall go for the Jones that has been build specifically to be rigid.
I actually can’t wait to try one out.

Cheers guys. I really like the look of them and the way they are described to ride sounds exactly like what I’m after. Bothy Bikes in Aviemore apparently have a test bike. I’m going to go and see if I can have a spin and then make my purchase there. Is there something unique about the size of f/r hubs sizes required and the headset needed with the truss fork?
Do any of you guys use the H loop bar? How do you find it in comparison to a normal straight/riser bar?
Can one of those HUGE front tyres be fitted into the standard bike? What advantages do they give?

Some fantastic suggestions, cheers. We really like the look of Rozel. So looks like we will be Jersey bound.
Is it worth hiring a car or can the Island transport be relied upon to get to beaches etc? Does the weather tend to be more abroad type heat or more British type/changeable weather? Thinking July/early August.
