I’ve been playing around on Basecamp for that option. I can’t work out how. Any pointers?

Surly Straggler here. My only bike. Purchased second hand. Set up with H bar and 1×10 29er. Bought as a stop gap to keep me pedalling as circumstances didn’t allow for me to have a lot of money invested into a bike. Found now though that I have no need to buy another. Anything I do on it it just gets on with it. Honestly no niggles and no desire to replace it.

Watched it all. Some flat rounds from both corners. In the whole though it was entertaining. A second fight seems likely. When both fighters were giving their best I think it would have given Joshua pause for thought. A draw means he will again have to avoid a fight with either until a victor here is determined. He will fill the time against less compotent opponents but still max out Wembley.

Seriously, start skipping without a rope first. Just do the actions of having one. This is how I started at boxing. Initially you don’t have the coordination or fitness to get the full training benefits. Just frustration by only being able to jump rope for a few minutes at a time.  By jumping without a rope your fitness level builds then gradually introduce a rope. When during that session it is tying you up and you are not really training dump it and continue without. Over time as your fitness and coordination increases you will be with the rope all the time. Like any skill it takes time to master, it is worth it though as I think skipping is a great base fitness exercise transferable to all sports/life.

Hell yeah .The eggs will be cracked straight in after the chips are out. Just a few moments so the yolks are still runny and I can dunk the chips into them.

Would like a Pace RC 200 for bimble duties. Well out my price range though.

I considered a moped, reasoned it was cost prohibitive. Now considering an ebike. Struggling to see a down side, employer is happy to allow bike to charge on their premises so takes away range anxiety issues.

I’ve done a few hill races. Don’t let nerves stop you taking part. I run unaffiliated and just make sure I’m going fast enough not to be last, that’s about as serious as I can be bothered taking races.  Seems a lot more enjoyable to me if not taken so seriously. If you go and do like it, you can become involved to a level that suits your requirements from running.

BAM clothing . Great running socks. I’m not a sufferer of cold feet though on trail runs. I wear Walsh trainers.

10 miles a day must be great for their general health. A definite level of fitness required then.

Like cycling there are always new kids on the block, fat bikes, enduro, gravel bikes etc. They are nothing new, a slight variant on an already explored path. CrossFit is like this. New and exciting buzz words attached to an already tried formula.  In this case a well thought out compound movement circuit class with some bikes and rope work thrown in to add to the spice. Box evangelists will find my diluted view abhorrent. Give it a go, you have nothing to loose. There won’t be anything you have never seen/done prior, so don’t be afraid of terminology like WOD or AMRAP. They are just accronyms for things you will be sure to recognise.

Which GPS watch are people using? I currently just put my Garmin Edge 200 in my pocket and go. Considering a watch that would sync to my phone on my return just so looking at my activity log is easier. I don’t need all the bells and whistles. GPS (be nice if it could supply a grid reference for OS mapping purposes) , HR and Bluetooth sync to phone would cover it I think.

Not sure if practical but if they are being made to walk out after hours in the freezing cold, perhaps stuck to a cliff face then the chopper could perhaps take out the heavy climbing gear with the casualty. Let the rescuer’s get out faster and less burdened . Obviously has negative implications of getting to another shout etc . Terrible if they are miles from safety themselves. Hope we never see an incident of a rescue team going out after another rescue team because of bureaucracy and penny saving.

I don’t think you should be making comparisons of those tyres on tarmac, very far removed from their design envelope.

Family house has had a Le Creuset on the multi fuel aga for over 40 year. Works out cheap if you think of it that way. It has always sat on the stove with water in it. Drag it to the hot side and boiling in a few minutes. The water we have must be iron rich as the inside ‘rusts’ quickly. It was discovered that by putting a ferrous ball bearing in there it totally prevents this. Take the bearing out once a week and a gentle rub with the scourer brings it up good and pop it back in. Like I say, worked for 40 year, and you can hear the whistle in the garden.

There is the Lakeland Monster Miles which is the type of event you describe. It has other events the same in other parts of the country. Maybe one of these? Other events are described in the links from the Monster Miles homepage .

No cause of death yet for the two lads. The drinking too much was just something I had heard of in other races.

See two lads have died doing the Cardiff half. No cause of death yet. I’ve heard in the past that with all the advertising to keep well hydrated people actually take on board too much and dilute the electrolytes to a dangerous level. Just something to be aware of that taking on too much water is just as bad as not having enough.

If it has to be a commercial then LWB Shogun. Tows better than a D4 and a lot more reliable.

I extensively looked at a D4. Like you I was aware of the horror stories on reliability. I couldn’t bring myself to purchase one. Opted for a 4.2 Landcruiser. Been good so far. MPG of around 24 which I think is great for the size.  If you removed all seats from one it would be larger than the D4. Would retain car speeds too.

Did the first ever one 2 years ago. There was a lot of teething problems. Parking was an issue as it began in the city centre. Very late route change which was not clearly marked. The waves were approximately 20 mins late in starting. Feed stations were not existent. If they sort these then it will raise it to an average event. Offers nothing over similar events.

Do Canyon race orientated mountain bikes not have something around the head set area to prevent this scenario? Worth a check as It won’t interfere with your set up.

Wingnut. Come in various sizes. When you order you state that you wish to trial and they send you one which you return after a few weeks allowing you to see if you get on with the concept. I have a larger one for big days. Really stable when loaded.

@ cinammon_girl. Partner and I grew up in families with dogs. Would like to give our children the same experience. We live rural so endless walks available. We are active at weekends with all activities dogs would love.
