There are pictures of bikes spray painted on the trees in cranham to let you know where to ride or not. Just don’t get caught where you shouldn’t.

Pretty much the same as a mountainous bike, just with quicker road sections.

I can’t believe that this is still dragging on, I’m glad I’ve moved away because I for one would have still kept riding selective tracks as I had done for the past 10+ years. Only over the last couple of years has riding in cranham started to become noticed by landowners and I would say this is down to unnecessary trail building and large groups (clubs) riding week in week out. I take my helmet off to corrective roger for taking on NE and so far they’ve managed to stop bikers riding cranham through the winter so it’ll be easy now to stop riding altogether. As mrmo says they are gonna struggle to enforce a ban though.

Ah Jim bowen is alive and well then! I think half the problem is the construction of new trails, this is what EN or worried about.

Mmmmmm not sure this will work, I can’t see natural English nature commission being that interested tbh. That said anything is worth a try, email addy in profile. :D

If its in the town its self I would avoid like the plague. Some of the outlying towns/villages an awful lot better, further away the better, like the cotswolds escarpment or heading towards stroud/cirencester. Avoid the cheltenham area unless you’ve got ££££££££. Hope that helps. Gloucester is just depressed, they’ve spent a lot of money but you can’t polish a turd.

Edit. Doh too slow, mmm kingsholm is ok but the rugby isn’t on every day!!!

Our collie is shaking like a leaf, trying to squeeze under the stairs in his little hidey hole. Poor boy.

Happy days in the frost last year. :D

I know the ones you mean darrenh, they never used to be there just a steep slippery chute. Don’t think the top bit would be but the rest would be okish.

Isn’t that half the problem, large groups of bikes using the woods? Clubs like Bigfoot, cheltenham and county etc performing ‘trail maintenance’ to improve trails. Small groups of riders are not going to attract much attention but 15+ mountainbikers (I’ve been confronted by this many before) are gonna raise more than just an eyebrow from the red socks. Keep the numbers small, no more digging, business as usual!

Just to add to the woes, I was up there yesterday morning, and got stopped by somebody who appeared to be from natural English nature or whatever they call themselves now. He was putting a sign up saying something about no bikes, he said to me that I cant ride in the woods anymore because there are too many tracks being made by bikes. I thanked him for his advice and rode off past his quad bike. This was abit further towards cranham corner where the road does a Sharp turn with the big house on the corner. Ho hum.

Intervals should be ok, you’ve got a lap button but no programmable timer. Just about to get a MAC so googled the compatibility and there was a link that took you to the polar help site and it talked too through how to do it.

I’ve got a polar 800cx, works great seems quite accurate. Won’t work with a MAC, however there is a work around which will alow you to use polar protrainer with the MAC.

I used to do a little rhyme under my breath whenever I saw a lone magpie, after 25 or so years of doing it Mr Toast mocked me so relentlessly I stopped. So far I haven’t experienced any chronically bad luck…so far.
I also chew paper, another habit I’ve had since I was a kid (although I was worse in my teens, actually used to swallow, would get through entire sheets of A4 in a day). I tend to idly rip little bits out of notebooks, and chomp away.

    :D
