Can you elaborate on working with them Pinkster?

Bob Calvert was a total genius. I saw him play with ICU a few times and he was amazing live. Captain Lockheed was just a masterpiece, prob. the best ‘concept’ album ever, and definitely the best concept album with Lemmy playing on it.

EF 17-40 f4 and the 24-105 f4 are probably the most obvious choices, and good allrounders. The 24-105 does not have the best rep for reliability, i dunno how bad they actually are? They are cheap at the moment. I got the Sigma 35mm at Christmas and it’s pretty much stayed on the camera since I got it….it’s a lovely lens.

Bit old school, and I dunno if it’s available on Netflix, but The Lakes (written by Jimmy McGovern and starring John Simm) was the best TV series ever IMHO. Total class.

Get messed up in the bars round Valencia and 18th, Bike the Golden Gate Bridge, watch a band at the Chapel, chill on the beach, visit the museums at the Golden Gate Park and go for a stroll.

It’s a great place just to relax and eat good food.

Wife has just swapped from a VW with a 2L 140 bhp to a BMW with 2L engine. We test drove a BMW with same power output as the VW, and it felt a *lot* more powerful (to the extent I thought they had given us the wrong car) . She bought a car with the 218bhp version which is really quiet, economical and smooth. Based on this fairly unscientific test, I’d say BMW are a long way past VW when it comes to engines.

Given that Warren Anderson didn’t get extradited for killing 14,000+, I think it’s pretty unlikely.

Good to hear other ATC owners happy with what they have got, also good to see some acoustic treatment behind the NS1000’s :-)

ATC Active 20’s. I like them because they sound good, they don’t require lots of amplifier boxes, they were relativity cheap and it’s stopped me wanting to upgrade.

We use Teamviewer at work, and it’s one of the few bits of software which always works, and has some really nice features, all which are easy to use (like the ability to run it on a memory stick without installing it).

Taxi Driver “June twenty-ninth. I gotta get in shape. Too much sitting has ruined my body. Too much abuse has gone on for too long. From now on there will be 50 pushups each morning, 50 pullups. There will be no more pills, no more bad food, no more destroyers of my body. From now on will be total organization. Every muscle must be tight. ”

I find the difference in using resellers has been so small, I just book direct with the airlines. £550 to Chicago sounds like a good deal. As so much of the flight is tax and fees its not going to get much cheaper than that.

Probably not relevant to you if your looking at induction hob’s, but we have an AEG hob a bit like this…

and it’s horribly dangerous. The minimalist pan supports are no way safe, the pan only has to be slightly off centre and it slides off. I keep on meaning to change it out for something safer.

I honestly think it’s horrible, regardless of cost. You only need to go to the Dutch equivalent to see how bad UK Center Parcs is. It’s another imported idea where they just make everything a bit cheaper, a bit more profitable and you end up with something with all the good bits removed.

Too many people crammed in too tightly, crap food outlets, the pool is absolutely rammed, accommodation is horrible unless you pay a fortune.

Thank you! I was really weary about getting a Two Rock, as I thought they were a bit of a bank managers plaything, but I love it. It’s really easy to get loads of diff. tones with, it’s light and not too loud.

Don’t buy AEG…a once great brand ruined by Electrolux. We have had one for about 4 years, and it’s total junk. We had them for 15 years previous and they were great.

Despicable Me 1/2. The bubbles on the title menu on Despicable Me 2 are the best 3D I’ve seen anywhere :-) Madagascar 3 is also really good in 3D.

I’ve just started wearing them. I bought some a few months back and was dreading starting wearing them so they stayed in a draw until this week. I put them on in the morning, and after an hour, they felt fine. I’m still getting used to looking through them properly, and I sometimes still have to take them off for really close work, but not nearly as bad as I’d feared.

I’ve had a harder time adjusting to a new pair of glasses with conventional lenses before these.

I use Sennheiser HD650’s and Bayer 880’s for monitoring. I prefer the 650’s (the 880’s are a bit hifi sounding) but really like them both. The 650’s I got from a store in Germany (can’t remember what it was called) but they were c.£140 + cost of an IBAN. Might be worth a google?

The 650 can go really loud without sounding ragged, they have a bit of a subdued top end, but really, really nice. I had a pair of mid range sennheisers (might have been 595’s) and they sounded pretty poor compared to either the 880’s or HD650’s.

I’ve had them pestering to upgrade to 4G. They have phoned about 5 times, and always beginning with “We want to check you phone is displaying EE as the network provider…”. They then take you through security and start with the selling.

I last one to phone said he was checking the coverage when I lived, and confirmed I could, would I like to go ahead? I was sat at my computer and I know I haven’t got a hope in hell of getting 4G, so I got him to wait while I called up the coverage checker. It clearly shows I can’t get 4G. He started mumbling and then said his computer was restarting. He had basically blatantly lied to try to get a sale. What a scumbag. It’s a shame, as I want to upgrade, but as a point of principal, they can ram it.

But it started to feel limited and the photos (particularly of people) lacked depth when compared to those taken by friends on DSLRs

It might be that your friends are doing a bit of post processing? If you are taking pic’s straight out of the camera, a little bit of PP can make a hell of a difference.

I have only seen animated 3D movies (I have kids and don’t get to cinema unless it is with them) and find the 3D really good.

Ditto. I’d seen some shop demo’s which were always awful, but at home, with the TV setup properly, I think for animated films, it’s great.

These films are designed to make sense w/3D, so when you watch in 2D I always think I’m not seeing the film as intended.

I’m not flexing any muscles. I am merely explaining that you must always ensure that you are happy with whatever is offered before you sign for a job. If you wanted lunch you should have stipulated this was in your contract. If its not there and you’ve signed then its too late. That is all.

Your being a tool. That is all.

Do really people examine the lunchtime expenses policy before they take a role? It’s totally reasonable to not be out of pocket when working away from base.

Degüello by ZZ Top is a progressive blues guitar masterclass. If you have interest in why Billy Gibbons is a rated guitarist, this it the answer.

Massive +1 for Taj Mahal, there are some great compilations (there is one on Amazon for £1!)
