I remember seeing the new fads in Leeds in 1991… Not a bad band from what I can remember.

Hey M-F, How about an application which detects which staff are spending all day tossing it off on STW and creates a blackmail database?

Amazing program…the scene at the end with the driver burning to death with one driver and a tiny fire extinguisher trying to save him while the race carried on was brutal.

Watched Trans America again last night, she’s not really a ‘star’ but Felicity Huffman gives a fantastic performance in what must have been a pretty challenging role.

If it’s new, they are s***, they used to be ace, had three in a row, but bought one 2 years ago and it’s abysmal. They were taken over by Electolux and the quality has gone down the pan.

If you bought new in ’83, it’s got some historical attachment. I’d buy some new pickups in and get it working again. You could set it up for slide / alternate tuning?

Most of these programs allow you to download 30 day demos, and i’d recommend doing that, as editing the compressed formats used for HD video can be very PC intensive.

No, I used Pinnacle Studio 8 years ago, and to quote a disgruntled user on the support forum ‘Studio 8 is the only software I was given free and felt I was overcharged’ Think it’s a lot better now though. It was super easy to use, but the audio and visual went out of sync after 5mins. If they have it sorted, it would be OK.

Class drummer, not really into his music, but the way the press turned on him in the UK was just nasty.

She sounds pretty reasonable to me, she’s allowing you pursue other job, she just does not want it to impact her business…which is totally understandable. Personally, I think you should do what she asks, she’s been OK with you, I’d reciprocate.

I tether my PC to my phone, and use it 5 days a week. I sometimes go over the 500mb, but not often. If you don’t stream constant radio / video, and you don’t tether, I’d be surprised if you would bust 500mb with a phone.

That website says you can tow a double axle Bailey Pegasus 624 at 1660kg

That’s cool, but they are 16 grand :-)

OK, sounds like her’s might be OK for a caravan (I have driven mine w/bikes on the roof and the economy drops to c25mpg, so i guess a caravan would take it to c.22mpg? That would cost a lot to get to Holland :-()

Mines a Mondeo estate (big enough, but petrol and only does 28mpg without a caraven), Her’s is a Tiguan, which I understand will only tow 1,427kg, and with 3 kids, I think we would struggle to get a 5 berth under that weight?

Spooky, that picture is a folding camper, not a trailer tent isn’t it?

Folding camper, not trailer tent is what we are after. Just had a look at caravans..bloomin heck, they are expensive! We don’t have cars which would tow a caravan at the moment, so I think a caravan is out of the question.

geetee1972, it’s good to hear an insiders perspective, but the HR departments I’ve have dealt with struggle with the most basic concepts of satisfactory behaviour, even Global Fortune 500 companies.

Not knowing basic employment law (and getting sued because of it), total incompetency (2 hour interview when HR did not know what position i’d applied for), conflict of interests (shagging married departmental managers), Idiotic behaviour (emailing all managers at her current employer with a job application and covering letter saying how unhappy she was….twice!).

I can understand it’s an important role, but in my experience, i’ve not been impressed with the reality of them. I work for a small company now…no HR dept…..no problems!

And to the O/P…I would not trust them an inch.

I bought one last week. I have to say, i’m pretty unimpressed. It’s damm near impossible to work out that the supplied accessories do until you get it home. The design of the blow moulded case is hopeless, so it takes longer to close the case than do the job (the plug is supposed to be held in the lid, but it is designed for 2 pin sockets so it won’t stay put when you close it), the accessory’s are bloomin expensive.

If I had my time again, i’d have bought the cheapo draper copy for £27 quid.

I’ll get an iPad when someone explains what they actually do…

Mine was great at protecting my testicles post vasectomy when walking with the kids. It’s good to surf the web while eating breakfast….other than that, it’s pretty pointless.

Depends what you mean by better, you def. do not need full HD at that screen size, but don’t but some cheap tat, because there are some nasty looking TV’s about. Most of the big names produce decent TV’s for little money at the moment.

IMHO bigger is better. We bought a 40″ and quickly went for a 50″ for watching films. The 50″ is in a medium size room, and it’s a bit to big for watching 16:9 TV, but for films it’s really good for getting ‘immersion’. A 50″ TV in a typical room is still much, much smaller than watching a film at the cinema.

50″ might be a novelty now, but IMHO, in 5 years time (once Freeview HD has been around a while) it will be the norm. Unless your stuck for space, I can’t see any reason to got for a TV smaller then 42″.

LOL about the ‘council house scumbag’…at least they didn’t buy a TV that’s too small ;-)

WTF, this is far to tasteful, we can do better than this…lets have some HDR nasties…skies that look like blankets of doom hanging over everything. Oversharpened flowers that look like they were made from granite. Oversaturated purple and orange skies…maybe even some long exposures with car lights streaking across and urban street?
